A few days into my two week wait now, period due around 2nd of March.

Trying not to get too excited as I'll soon be 40 and I know my chances are lower - nevertheless, I found myself downloading a pregnancy tracking app this morning and looking at all the visuals of what the baby would look like at various stages 🙃

Anyone else out there want to wait with me? Crossing fingers and toes for my November baby!!

Hi @Writerscompanioni totally understand where you are coming from. I am breastfeeding and my little girl has always co slept with us and fidgets all night. My sleep is so broken I have no idea how we actually manage to have nookie mid cycle!! 😂😂

Hipefully you will catch your postive soon! Nice to see we are in the same boat and can share our journeys. I am just worried it won’t happen for us now. I am so lucky to have the amazing 3 I already have. We have given it until May before throwing in the towel and giving up.

BabyBorn · 14/03/2025 13:44

Sorry to hear it’s not happened for you yet @MrBigsCatso frustrating isn’t it!

I haven’t tried to conceive whilst breastfeed my first two. My eldest is 20, middle daughter is 12 and youngest will be 3 in July. It’s amazing how quickly time goes. Feels like I was holding my eldest in my arms 5 minutes ago! 😢

Writerscompanion · 14/03/2025 13:16

Hi, can I join? I’m 41 and have a 19-month old, so I was 38/39 when she was conceived/born. Last time I had difficulty with ovulation tests and temping, long runs of ‘high fertility’ but missing the peak, and I ended up falling pregnant on the 6th cycle when we happened to do it a week before my Clue app said I would be ovulating (so was very surprised to get a strong positive and then a 2-3 weeks Clearblue). I found that and all the pregnancy testing quite stressful so my aim this time is just to assume my ovulation is irregular (although my periods are pretty regular) and time it as close as we can get to every other day around the 2 middle weeks of my cycle and not to test until I’ve actually missed my period, but we’ll see how long I hold out!

This time we’re on cycle 2 and my period is due tomorrow according to Clue. No signs except I’ve been weepy all week which could easily be pre-menstrual. Last time I had what I thought were period cramps at 11po, sore boobs 12dpo and a strong positive test on day 13. I’m still breastfeeding and hoping that won’t affect things. Trying to prioritise my health as best I can sleep deprived with a wakeful toddler.

11 DPO is still so early @MrBigsCathow long have you been trying for? I have 3 children. I’m still breastfeeding my 32 month old and I think last year was hindering my chances of conceiving because she kept picking up bugs and nursery and becoming poorly so wanted my milk a lot more. I am only feeding her once or twice in 24 hours now. So hoping my chances are much better now. I have fallen pregnant twice since May last year, just need them to stick! How about you? Do you have any children?

I’ve got 3 too! my youngest is 9 now

we have been trying for about 19/20 months now and apart from a possibly chemical in the first 3 months I’ve had nothing

sorry to hear about your losses.
I have managed to get pregnant and breastfed through 2 pregnancies so hope you catch soon.

@BabyBorn im bfn at 11dpo so I’m assuming I’m out! Hope this is your month. How long have you been trying and do you have other children? (Sorry if you have already said!)

BabyBorn · 14/03/2025 10:00

@SaltedPotatofunny is it how it’s just started happening. I’ve been so lucky so far to have the wonderful children I already have but only one was planned out of the 3! It took us 5 months to conceive at 27 and I thought that was bad at the time! 🥴🥴 I think for me it usually just happens when I’m not thinking about it or it tends to happen at really stressful periods of my life. Last year I fell pregnant just when I was super stressed and grieving after loosing my grandad. Unfortunately it ended in an early miscarriage.

@MrBigsCatyes! Me too! I haven’t been this healthy in years so surely it has to happen for us soon! I’m also on daily Chinese herbs from the acupuncturist! I had to really stop myself from testing this morning, of course I know it will be negative at 7DPO! 😆

MrBigsCat · 14/03/2025 08:49

To be honest I just went with someone local and searched up the reviews. He is Chinese which I had been recommended to go for

have you tried or researched agnus castus for cycle regulation? I’m currently on 1000mg daily and it definitely helps with my pre period spotting which can sometimes be 7 days before. I’ve read it can help regulate cycles too.

@Fayra it’s been a mixed time scale for me conceiving- I already have 3 so they took
38 cycles
4 cycles
6 cycles 🤷🏼‍♀️ but all in my 20s

Retrospeaker · 14/03/2025 07:57

Sorry about the chemical @Fullofconfusion

@MrBigsCat i see you are doing acupuncture. How did you choose a therapist? I am thinking of doing it if only to regulate my cycles.

Has anyone done Hertility bloods (or similiar?)

Fayra · 14/03/2025 06:23

Morning everyone and welcome to the new joiners 😊

I got my period on Wednesday so currently day 3 of a brand new cycle, impatiently waiting for my period to sod off so we can get trying again!

I've never had an issue with getting pregnant before so have to assume it's age related now but will keep going and hope for the best this cycle🤞🏻

Never related more! 🤣 xx

MrBigsCat · 13/03/2025 19:42

So funny @BabyBorn im day 8 of no sugar and plenty grains, fruit and veg as a fertility diet along with starting gym and acupuncture. I’ve decided this year is me having my best body and mind for a pregnancy 🤞🏻

SaltedPotato · 13/03/2025 18:14

@BabyBorn I'm pretty laid back re diet etc. I do generally eat too much sugar and processed foods I think though. But I don't drink or smoke, I exercise and my BMI is healthy.
In terms of why I'm not ovulating every month. I don't know it's a new thing. I'm presuming it's my age in all honesty. All we can do is carry on trying and see what happens.

Fullofconfusion · 13/03/2025 18:13

Retrospeaker · 13/03/2025 09:13

Hi @Fullofconfusion im so sorry for your loss. It turns your whole world inside out doesn’t it.

How long did it take for your cycles to regulate? (If they have). I’m 5 months in and have no idea what’s going on…. Although I have got some EWCM going on at the moment I think so just going with that!

It absolutely does. I find myself looking at so many things differently and I’m triggered by lots that didn’t used to bother me. It’s not an easy after loss.

My cycles were never regular until my TFMR. I used to regularly have super long cycles but after my TFMR it only took 3 months to settle into a solid cycle which really surprised me. I seem to ovulate super late now though which worries me. Currently CD21 with no opk peak yet. My cycles are usually 33 days however last month I had a chemical which caused a 38 day cycle.

Hoping for ovulation soon!

MrBigsCat · 13/03/2025 15:40

BabyBorn · 12/03/2025 17:44

Never know @MrBigsCat could be implantation?

Doubtful, it’s the same every month.
any implantation bleeding I’ve ever had has been after my period was due and after my bfp
good luck everyone for this cycle 🤞🏻🤞🏻

BabyBorn · 13/03/2025 14:45

Ah I see @SaltedPotatoim pretty in tune with my body too so I know what you mean. Do you think there is any reason to why you don’t ovulate every month, and the CM? It’s strange isn’t it how so different we are and why these things happen!
I am trying really hard to keep my diet really nutritious and limiting sugar. I feel I am doing so much in terms of supplements, acupuncture, diet, limiting toxins and not pregnant every month!! 😫

Hi @SaltedPotato sorry to hear about your losses. Can be such a tough journey can’t it! How do you know you don’t ovulate every month? Do you feel the ovulation itself or have you had some testing done?

Yes, I’m going to be testing on March 17th where I will be 10DPO. I try not to test any earlier. I’m 40 next week and already have 3 wonderful girls. Our last little one was not planned and since having her 32 months ago we decided we would like to try for one more. So here we are 😂😂

Hopefully this will be out month ladies 👶🎉

I do LH tests and I just know my body. I've had early rises, prolonged rises etc. My cm hasn't been right. I'm hoping to test on 17th too at 9dpo

Hi all 37.5 TTC baby number 2. He took 2.5 years due to multiple miscarriages at various stages. Stupidly I thought this would be easier this time round but nope. First try ended in an ectopic requiring methotrexate stealing 3m+ of time I don't have. DH is mid 40s so time is not on our side. One thing I have noticed since I started ttc initially in 2020 is I don't ovulate every month, whereas I used to.

Currently 5dpo and got my fingers crossed. @BabyBorn we should be testing around the same time I'm thinking.

NMB85 · 13/03/2025 04:37

Around 7dpo POAS again this morning and still BFN. Not even a shadow of one. I know it’s still early but damn I’m impatient to know either way! 😩

Welcome 🙂 I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage - really hoping this is the year for all of us. I'll be starting my TWW all over again from Monday. Positive thoughts!
