Tips on how to not test before missed period

I tested early on my two pregnancies before and had two successful pregnancies then I had an early miscarriage and a chemical miscarriage last year and I was trying my hardest not to test early because of the heartbreak I experienced from the last two times. I’ve been trying this month and hoping I get a positive next month but I don’t know how I am going to stop myself from testing early, I worry so much after having the miscarriages anyone else finding it hard not to test so early x

It's so hard being a woman isn't it!! My DH is just happy he got it 3 times last week and that's the end of his thoughts 🤣 no stewing over are we/aren't we/how long until we can test! Oh that's even better then! How long do you leave it until you register at the hospital? I can't even remember with my first!

LaTable · 16/03/2025 19:50

Hahaha your telling me 🤣 I told dh we'll just see how it goes and try and take it chill and if it doesn't stick again then it is what it is🤷‍♀️
One month post mmc cue a billion lh strips, timing dtd and incessant peeing on pregnancy tests.
Even now its been like 11 days of no period and I'm still stressing (sorry not 21dpo more like 25 or whatever maths that is. Can I blame baby brain already? 😅)

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 16/03/2025 19:42

Yeah I didn't get that before I had a CP in Jan 2023. My friend got pregnant at almost exactly the same time and it affected our friendship, as I really struggled seeing her have what I really wanted! I struggled generally and me and DH have both said we would now feel sad if we didn't try again! So here I am, month one and already obsessing 😭

LaTable · 16/03/2025 19:16

I'm lucky enough to have an 8 and a 6yo.
Hahaha funnily enough I recently just said how hard it is for those of us who suffer with multiple losses to hear about those who conceived their first the first time and never experience loss 😅😅😅
35 is still young though, but I get it, ttc month after month takes it toll

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 16/03/2025 19:08

Oh congratulations @latable! That's so exciting! No, I have a 3 (almost 4) year old and this is our first month trying for number 2. The trouble is, we caught straight away with our first so I know how disappointed I'll be if it takes ages this time! Plus, I'm 35 now, so it probably won't be as easy. Is this your first? I feel like I should have read all the pages now 🙈

LaTable · 16/03/2025 19:03

About 21 haha I got my vbfp at 9dpo and a more obvious at 10dpo. Just taking it a day at a time after another mc in Oct
Is this your first?

Don't ask us 🙈 we all failed miserably at waiting to test 🤣🤣
But not having the tests available has stopped my testing iver the last 3 days 😅😅😅

🤣🤣 Well I've only got one in the house. If I don't order more before Sunday I should be fine 🙈 how many dpo are you?

Hi all 👋🏻 I'm only 4dpo but wondering how to not test next weekend! During the week shouldn't be a problem as I do not have the time in a morning before work, but next weekend I'll be 10/11dpo. Ideally I will wait until AF is due, but that's a low chance!

How is everyone? I've not RTFT, just bits here and there, so apologies..

@curliegirlie I actually left the WhatsApp group about the same time as I made it haha it was a little to much for me and knew I couldn't handle the scan updates and such while being so anxious of miscarrying again so I totally understand the pain it can cause.
Silver linings on bfn but such a heart breaker. Have you managed to do something special for yourself to help lately?
Sending you virtual homemade cake and cookies!

Thank you. I tested negative today. That should be a relief as it took me 3 weeks last time, but I just feel sad about it all, as it's at the same point when others on the WhatsApp group are getting dye stealers and seeing heartbeats on reassurance scans etc. Heigh ho 😔

LaTable · 16/03/2025 15:36

Hope you ladies are all okay today

LaTable · 14/03/2025 20:35

And doesn't it hurt all the more when people are like "it's my 3rd month why is it taking so long, dc 1 and 2 was the first try"
Like I love that for you, but under a year is short and then top it off with the mc risk and it feels like a lifetime 😭
How are you today curliegirlie?

I know and how very lucky they are to have never had to experience a miscarriage. As stupid as this sounds I never could imagine myself ever having one because both my other pregnancies where straightforward how ignorant was I. I could book in for a private but maybe it’s for the best I wait a little longer things would be a lot clearer on the screen. How are you today ? @LaTable

I made the mistake of thinking/hoping that that miscarriage would be a one off for me, that from previous experience, although I tend to take a long time to get there, once I do (and am out of the CP danger zone) I have fab pregnancies: straightforward, no horrible sickness or other issues. But nope, it seems history was doomed to repeat itself 😔.

SaltedPotato · 14/03/2025 09:40

@LaTable I'm ok now, I was ok then to be honest. I got pregnant the cycle after and have my boy. I got to the point where I could rationalise that other people getting pregnant didn't affect my chances. When youve been trying so long and others are getting pregnant around you, you start thinking that 'they are the ones destined for the BFP this month' when in reality you know it's not linked but loss and grief does a lot

LaTable · 14/03/2025 08:25

The joy for others but secret bitter jealous feeling is so hard, I think it's something that everybody who struggles during the ttc journey can relate to.
Doesn't make it any less harder though does it? How are you feeling about it all now @SaltedPotato

SaltedPotato · 14/03/2025 07:37

A colleague of mine was TTC at the same time as me. I'd just had my 4th loss and she was TTC her second child. She came into work with a FRER at 10dpo and told the office (small close knit girls) she's going to be having a baby. I was Gobsmacked and also secretly jealous she could be so confident. I didn't even believe I was going to actually have a baby to hold when I was 35 weeks pregnant.

LaTable · 14/03/2025 06:35

They've both just recently turned 8 and 6.
Bloody hell I think I would have died if I had my 3rd at 3 and 2 haha my two did not get on from The ages of 2 and newborn to about erm, well 8 and 6 currently 😳
Youngest used to love her sister but eldest is a brat and hates her little sister. Now youngest just gets sad because eldest is so mean to her. So our house isn't so much busy as it is peace keeping mode....
Used to be a stage for a good few years where I literally could not leave them for a second in the same room as eachother without them trying to kill eachother. 🙃
Fun times being a mum eh!
That being said, having them all so close must be soooo nice (if they get on)

Laria19 · 13/03/2025 21:34

It’s about taking it day by day isn’t it. My girls are 3 and a half and 2 so my household is busy 😂yourself ? X

It's a bit of a stressful 8 weeks I must admit 😅😅😅
Hopefully this one grows though for us both 🤞
How old are your girls again?

Laria19 · 13/03/2025 20:12

That must be scary when you see blood.I never did with my girls that’s why when I seen blood when miscarrying I knew something wasn’t right x

Super heavy feeling today. Can't tell if it's bloat or womb related.
And had the smallest about if pink streaks when I wiped this morning. Nothing since though.

Very jealous of your non issue pregnancies prior! Haha although that being said, once I got through the first trimester bleeds my two girls were easy pregnancy and labour wise.
I just wish I didn't bleed or miscarry so much in the first trimester

It amazes me how so many women can just have babies and never once even experienced a miscarriage.
It's so mind consuming once you've had at least one.
Couldn't fathom a late pregnancy loss either.

Ughhh that's like a whole 2 extra life times to wait. do you think you might go for a private scan before 8 weeks @Laria19 ?

Laria19 · 13/03/2025 18:02

Nope just taking my prenatals, I know it’s hard not to worry about miscarriage I constantly check the tissue I wipe myself with after using the bathroom it drives me crazy sometimes. Also I was told I would be due a 6 week scan but now it’s an 8 week scan so I guess im gonna be a little more anxious because the wait is longer now.
