Can't believe I have not checked for a while and loads of BFPs.

Girls I am totally stoked for you.

Progress this end is that we made a valient attempt and am now in the 1.5ww. Final chance before we hit the clinic.

Lottie saw you on the IVF thread, kind of sad/wierd but comforted that there is someone I know over there (nomoremagnolia is there too) - bit like starting a new class in school!

My mother jsut sent me an email about how certain fruits and vegetables resemble the parts of the body that they're actually good for. Here's the bits that are relevant to TTC :

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents c e rvical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

This really is a lucky thread, especially now with our own Yarnie-Lucky-Mascot Do you have some bright pom-poms to wave around while you cheer us on?

You must be so excited - congratulations again. Fingers crossed that you have a very boring & non-eventful 9 months ahead of you. (I mean that in the best possible way)

lastbox I know exactly what you mean about telling people and it was something we agreed to do next time too.

I am really interested in this fertility spell now! Lottie - do you know any more?

lastboxoftampons · 16/07/2008 15:19

I know! Don't leave us!
Lottie, what's a fertility spell???

No, I'm really grateful LBOT. It's exactly the kind of advice I need and why I won't be going anywhere, if you don't mind. You've really given me food for thought. It made me realise that if the worst was to happen, I really would want to be able to call my mum up, and I'd hate to have to pretend everything was fine when it wasn't - with my closest family and friends, anyway. Thank you.

Lottie You don't need a spell. I will be your own personal good luck mascot. I will concentrate my thoughts on BFPs for everyone (everyone here, I mean - otherwise there'd be chaos!).

RE-reading that and I'm sorry I even said it! You just got a BFP!!!!!!!!! I know you've said you're quite cautious, but this is a happy happy time! I wish you all the best!!!! {{hugs}}

Yarnie · 16/07/2008 12:59

I have no doubt the rest of you will get your BFPs very soon. I feel very positive about it

That is really sound advice LBOT and I will give it serious thought. I am quite a reserved person and I am fairly sure I would need to deal with a miscarriage privately. However, I guess that doesn't mean I shouldn't tell people who are important to me. I certainly won't be telling people for a while, anyway.

lastboxoftampons · 16/07/2008 12:54

minxi! I hope you don't have to wait too long for the rest of us. Maybe you two should start a thread and the rest of us will find you when it's time I'm not sure if we'll even be in the game this month - I'm out of town from CD16 and this month I ovulated on CD20!

Yarnie it's a truly personal decision, but after we miscarried we did find that we wished we had told some people. We were waiting for the magic 12 week mark in case something went wrong. I started spotting at 11 weeks just before Easter. Luckily we weren't meant to be with family as DH's mother was away, but we found it really hard to pretend that everything was okay when it clearly wasn't. We ended up telling a few friends after the fact, but really wished we had told them when we had happy news to share instead of sad. Next time around, we won't go announcing it to the world, but we will tell our parents and siblings early on - probably around 8 weeks or so.

Yarnie · 16/07/2008 12:31

Minxi How lovely that you've been able to tell someone!

I am looking forward to telling people, but being very risk averse, I am unlikely to until I'm at least 12 weeks.

minxi · 16/07/2008 12:21

Congratulations Yarnie thats fantastic news too...
I too am excited - told a friend today as I was supposed to be helping her with something next year - she was so over the moon for me and said I couldn't be pregnant as looked too damn healthy, chilled and happy...
Come on the rest of you.... we can have our own little ante-natal thread... - haven't joined any yet as too busy oh and waiting for the rest of you

lastboxoftampons · 16/07/2008 12:12

YAY, Yarnie!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

And that's the Biggest, Fattest, BFP I've seen in a long time! No squinting for that one!!!!

Yarnie · 16/07/2008 12:09

Thank you for being here to share it with me girls

I want to tell DF to his face, but I'm off to a sewing lesson before he comes home from work, so I can't tell him until this evening . Oh well, it's worth waiting for

Trying to keep my excitement in check, as it is very early days.

BrightSideOfLife · 16/07/2008 12:06

YAYAYAYAY...

I am thrilled for you, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

There's a pic on my profile. It is a BFP, isn't it?!! It came up straight away.

lastboxoftampons · 16/07/2008 11:24

Or a sssssssssssssnake hisssssssssssssssing!

Yarnie · 16/07/2008 11:12

"La, la, la!"

BrightSideOfLife · 16/07/2008 11:01

...now imagine the sound of waves lapping gently against a beach...or of a waterfall cascading down a mountain side into a crystal blue pool...

Is it working?

Yarnie · 16/07/2008 10:58

Lottie I don't think I can hold it all day as I was up at 6am this morning! I do have a test, a CB. I've never used an HPT before, so even if it's BFN, it's still a rite of passage
