Hi everyone
moving over to March now as AF has arrived today. That means my last cycle was 26 days. My cycles haven’t been the same since being on the depo injection. I’ve had 33, 28, 31, 29, 21 lol. As long as I ovulate then I’m happy.

Is temperature the only way to know if you have actually ovulated?

Yes its premom strips. I do frequently tell myself not to get too hung up on numbers, but it’s just so out of character? Every other month i have tracked has been the same with the huge almost immediate drop?

i really do appreciate you taking the time to respond, but i feel like this must mean something, i just don’t have a clue what lol

I had the same thing this cycle. It finally dropped at 6dpo and AF arrived as normal. Not sure what caused it. I'm the same as you though, peak and then drop right down to 0.0 something

If you are using premom the numbers don't really mean much.

Hi all, i just made a post but not sure if better to tag on to this big post instead - sorry i’m a first time mumsnet poster!

TTC baby number 2 since sept, had a chemical last cycle, got a blazing positive LH strip about a week after symptoms of chemical stopped, usually my LH levels drop off a cliff within a day or so of the peak but this cycle they are remaining slightly elevated up to 0.35? Im currently 4DPO.

This is totally out of character in comparison to my other cycles, my levels usually drop as low as 0.05 following the peak. I’m so confused!

@Muddysocks1 tell me about it! Everything is so expensive. I might sneak off for the acupuncture 🤣 I've just told DH I want to spend £200 on a watch as its the apple seris 8 and will do my BBT for me

Yes, fertility acupuncturists seem really knowledgable on cycles and everything to with with ttc. It is even just nice to have someone to talk to someone about it with and for them to explain things to you.
Just two sessions of acupuncture positively affected my cycle for 2 months!
And that was literally 20 mins each time (the rest of the time was spent talking 🙈😂)

That’s really good! I’ve been thinking of trying it too. Currently having counselling though and want to finish one before starting the other for financial reasons

@albertrosssociety I've been having a look today at acupuncture as @carolinep3 mentioned it too. Seem to have an experienced one near me

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 13:11

@confusedmum25 do you use anything to track your cycles? I've found it helpful being able to look back and think of okay I always have e.g. sore boobs/pelvic cramps/headache/whatever at this time of cycle, stops me reading too much into it!

Just an app which im not sure is entirely accurate so im not even 100% certain when/if ive ovulated , if I dont get BFP ill probably start using OPK’s

Good idea I should start adding my symptoms into the app also so I’ll know for future

AlbatrossSociety · 26/02/2025 16:00

I went to see acupuncturist today, and the paperwork she gave me said that acupuncture can help to lengthen the luteal phase so it could be worth going down the complementary medicine route?

She also gave me lots of diet and lifestyle advice and overall think it was a really useful session!

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 15:00

@carolinep3 ah sorry I hadn't realised that. I still wouldn't be worried (easier to say than to do, I know!) - I've barely got started on the tracking and the main thing I've learned is bodies are not exactly reliable month to month 😂

Totally get that end of a long day feeling!

carolinep3 · 26/02/2025 14:58

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 14:56

@carolinep3 some people's LH peak is very quick - if you Google you can see different patterns (slow rise vs fast rise). It's not an issue, can just make it harder to catch it on tests sometimes - people who peak quickly often test at least twice a day (or more) during the likely ovulation stage to make sure they don't miss it. Glad you've caught it!

Thanks. But I've been testing for
Months and this is the first time is has happened like this hence the worry. I normally have a peak for a few days so will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow! Haven't been bbt this cycle as I wanted to reduce the stress a bit!
It's been a long day so don't know if DH will be thrilled 😂

carolinep3 · 26/02/2025 14:26

@littlefox90 you would have to ask them specifically, mine has a pharmacist she works with who can prescript if anything is needed.

In other news. I've finally got a peak OPk!! Yay. But clear blue went from empty circle yesterday to peak today! No flashy smiley 🤷🏻‍♀️ don't know if that is bad or not?

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 13:26

I was planning to hold on until a delayed period but my period is due on the day my husband and I are away in a different city seeing his best mate and meeting mate's girlfriend for the first time...it's not an issue from a food or drink perspective but I don't really want to spend the whole day checking for blood every time I go to the loo so I might test the day before I think!

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 13:24

@Jo2104 oh you're close! Exciting! I hope he comes soon and you get the result you want 😊

Jo2104 · 26/02/2025 13:22

@Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa ill probably scare him half to death! Especially if he gets here before school run! Currently holding my wee 🤣
I’m due on either tomorrow or Friday, but I couldnt wait to see so ended up ordering tests 🤦🏼‍♀️

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 13:11

confusedmum25 · 26/02/2025 13:10

Hi everyonee,
3dpo (I think!) and starting to get tender boobs, cant remember if i've felt this with the last 2 cycles. We dtd EOD during the fertile window🤞🏻

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 13:09

@Jo2104 I think it does make me feel better haha! Don't scare the poor delivery person when they finally get there haha. Whereabouts are you in your cycle?

Jo2104 · 26/02/2025 12:47

@Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa if it makes you feel any better I’m basically stalking the Amazon man with my tests I’ve checked where he is every 5mins 🤣🤣
i was hoping they’d arrive before the school run but it isn’t looking very hopeful now 🙄

littlefox90 · 26/02/2025 12:23

@carolinep3 can they handle everything including prescriptions? He really didn't have a clue but was honest enough to say that

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 12:11

5dpo (ish) here and spent all of yesterday totally distracted in the office reading everything I could online about conception, ovulation, early pregnancy tests etc. Why is my brain like this! (I know I am not alone particularly here).

Bit calmer today thankfully, just feels like a looong time to wait...feeling quite positive this cycle but I was on cycle 1 too and that turned into nothing so I know it means nothing 😂

carolinep3 · 26/02/2025 12:06

@littlefox90 gps often don't know
Much about fertility. I would highly advise you to look into a fertility mentor. These are people who have specific knowledge in fertility. From experience in person they are about £100 per hr session or some people do online sessions too.

AF arrived today at 9dpo 😭 I don't understand why luteal phase is so short. Can gp help? What can they do?

So just an update.

I spoke to the GP today, he was very nice but didn't really know what I was talking about. He looked up progesterone when I mentioned it, he is asking for advice from gyno about it. He said I should hear back in no later than 10 days 😫
If they can't help then he said he can refer me to fertility but they might not help as I've got a child (18yo)
