Hi ladies, I dipped out of this thread a while back but I have just this week finally got a positive! We have been trying 2.5 years now with only one positive which was ectopic.
I had the ectopic this time last year and had a tube removed so this feels like a miracle! I’m only 4 weeks, so not sure I can get excited yet! But would be great to have a platform to chat about it!

Marie1990x · 02/06/2025 21:17

@Daniki yeah literally haven’t heard anyone I know who’s had a section say anything negative.
I luckily had a private room too but guessing I won’t have that luck this time. I think they put me in it as my daughter was in NICU so would have been torture being on a ward with babies and not having mine.

awww nice, that’s great you have loads you can re-use! I have majority of ours away as we didn’t think it would ever happen 😂.

haha awww bless him! My daughters the same (but opposite), super excited but just wants a sister, so if it’s a boy I’m not sure how it’s gonna go down 😅

@Marie1990xyea it’s definitely nice knowing the date and my previous elective was nice and no issues or complications was up walking not long after! I was very lucky that time to have a private room and my husband got to stay with me the whole time but won’t be that way this time so hoping for a quick turn around to get home! I actually started going through all the baby clothes today to have an idea of what we have, and a lot more than i thought! Going to wash them this week and putting them away in the changing table we put in the room the other day, really starting to feel real now and I’m excited, I can finally accept it!
yes he does he’s very excited for a baby brother, so not sure how he’ll react if it’s a girl 😂 what about your wee girl?

Marie1990x · 01/06/2025 14:13

@Daniki literally madness isn’t it, can’t believe I’m in the second trimester. Although I’m still waiting for my glow 😂😂.
Yeah I’m looking forward to knowing when it’s happening and feel less stressed about the fact we can get childcare sorted for my daughter and be prepared. Also just couldn’t mentally go through what I did last time so hoping for a nice experience. Obviously recovery with a 4 year old and newborn will be challenging but I’m sure we’ll get by. I still can’t even believe I’m pregnant 😂.

Awww that will be so nice to go through them all. Definitely time to accept it’s happening haha. Does your son know he’s going to be a big brother? 🥰
Yeah we have the big things like furniture and pram etc, so just clothes and bits and bats to get. I’ve got a few neutral bits that I couldn’t resist, but been trying to hold off until the gender scan then I can go wild 😂.

Oh nice! Not too long to wait until your next scan then! Will be lovely. My next NHS one isn’t until the 14th July, then after that that’s it! Don’t know how I’ll mentally cope, will have to book some private ones in 😅

Daniki · 01/06/2025 09:57

@Marie1990xomg 14! Jesus that flew 🤣 ah lovely to find out what you’re having, I’m pretty convinced I could it was a girl from my scan the other day! Do you know what an elective section is nice in that you know when baby is coming and you can be so prepared, I couldn’t fault my first one! Starting to accept this is happening and have moved the changing table into our room and will go through my sons baby clothes and wash all that I can use, thankfully don’t have too much to buy this time round! Sickness has eased massively im still on the meds but going to try and come off when next week and see how I get on! My big scan will be on the 18th June so looking forward to that 🥰

Marie1990x · 01/06/2025 09:43

@Daniki I’m 14+1 weeks! Crazy how quick it’s going, and we find out what we’re having next week. How far are you now?
Aww that’s great you had a positive scan 😊. When is your next one?
Bless you but at least you will know you’re in good hands and best thing for you and baby. I’ve opted for a section this time after my traumatic first birth. I’m already consultant led and they said yes straight away but will obviously discuss it in more detail further down the line.

how’s your sickness? Has it gone or are you taking the medication now?

OP posts:
Daniki · 01/06/2025 09:32

@Marie1990xoh god that sounds rough! Hope you’re at the other side of it now 🙏 how lovely feeling flutters 🥺 how far are ya now 11 weeks? I’m doing good, still absolutely wrecked! Had a scan on Thursday was lovely to see baby moving around. All as good, and having a good bit of movement myself! Was hoping to have a VBAC but they said it would be a section again, my medical history too complex which is fair enough 🤣 having awful pain in my hip aswell so can only imagine what I’ll be like in another 19/20 weeks time 🙈

Marie1990x · 31/05/2025 21:39

@Daniki sorry I’ve been so rubbish! It didn’t last long the no sickness, came back with a vengeance and floored me, so back on them and haven’t dared skip any again yet. Also been struck down with the flu this week so it’s been torture 😂. On the plus side I’ve started to feel some little flutters in the last couple of days 🥰.

How are you getting on?

OP posts:
Daniki · 23/05/2025 17:07

@Marie1990xoh great hopefully it’s finished for you 🙌🏻🙌🏻 yea defo movements had a few today and the doctor could feel it with the Doppler at my appointment 🤣 he could also hear the heartbeat thank gos because I was so worked up about it 🙈 had a tiny speck of blood last night when I wiped aswell, whatever that’s about! But thankfully all fine today

Marie1990x · 23/05/2025 16:56

@Daniki I don’t think I felt anything until around 20 weeks last time. To be honest I think it’s probably
because I don’t know whether it’s baby or just stomach movements 😂. How many weeks are you now?

Yeppp, I didn’t take it and was fine. Didn’t take it again last night too and seems okay! Little bit of nausea but literally tiny amounts so hoping I can stop taking them now

OP posts:
Daniki · 22/05/2025 09:06

@Marie1990xno, not sure where my placenta is don’t think iv been told but I do have a tilted uterus and my first pregnancy was anterior placenta! Think I might have felt some movement in bed last night it was kind of under my ribs, so I’m not sure 🤣 googled it and said that would be normal for anterior placenta tho! Did you go without your tablets last night?

Marie1990x · 21/05/2025 21:37

@Daniki did you say you had an anterior placenta? Or am I making that up? Hopefully get some movement really soon! I know what you mean though, my scan was only a week ago and I’ve started with the worry again 😅. Don’t have another one until 2 weeks on Saturday

OP posts:
Daniki · 21/05/2025 21:19

@Marie1990xoh good, I hope it has actually eased for you! Must remember to take mine tonight 🤣 im
very anxious again, can’t wait for scan next week to hopefully put my mind at ease 🙈 it thought I’d feel some movement by now but I don’t think iv felt anything 🤣

Marie1990x · 21/05/2025 21:01

@Daniki amazing, bet you feel like a new woman! Don’t forget to take them 😅.

I’m good thanks. I’m actually going to skip tonight’s tablet and see if it’s calmed down or not. Feel like I could quite easily become reliant on them to help me sleep so want to try nip it in the bud soon as I can, so let’s see!

OP posts:
Daniki · 20/05/2025 10:33

@Marie1990xi don’t know how I did! And it works great, thought I was over the sickness then and didn’t take it yesterday or today and have been vomiting in work since iv came in 🤣 might run home at lunch time and get it. How are you getting on?

Marie1990x · 16/05/2025 21:48

@Daniki how have you gone so long without asking for any medication?! As soon as my midwife told me not to suffer and call the doc I was sold 😂.

God I know tell me about it! Absolutely flying. I’ve got such a busy few months too so baby will literally be here before I know it

OP posts:
Daniki · 16/05/2025 21:38

@Marie1990xi swear it was like 2 weeks ago you had your positive test it has went so quick! 🤣🤣 yea I think I will take it, even anything to get some sleep and not be up vomiting during the night again 🙈

Marie1990x · 16/05/2025 21:31

@Daniki I take it on an evening before bed so it helps me sleep and by the time I’m next to eat or drink it’s kicked in. The first day I took them it took a couple hours I’d say. I was at a point where I couldn’t even keep water down, took one and a couple hours later I managed to almost finish a Big Mac 😅.

Oh bless you you’re not having a smooth ride! Have you taken one? I’d probably just take them tbh, could potentially be what you’ll end up getting prescribed.

Nope I haven’t stopped yet. I’m too scared to 😅. I’m going to give it another week and then I’ll be in 2nd trimester (how so quick!?!?) so I’ll try then. He’d said to skip a day and gradually wean off

OP posts:
Daniki · 16/05/2025 21:16

@Marie1990xoh is right I remember you saying that name before! 🙈 yea these ones have an antihistamine too I see, does yours take long to kick in? Have you stopped now!? Yea it’s non stop at the min couldn’t go to work today, iv also got a hernia behind my stoma aswell which happened me in my first pregnancy so not helping 🙈

Marie1990x · 16/05/2025 21:09

@Daniki no I have Promethazine Hydrochloride. It’s an antihistamine but said it’s one that works the best for HG. It is great but does make you a bit spaced out and drowsy 😅.
just googled and that one you mentioned seems to be specifically for pregnancy, so I don’t see a harm in taking it? I’m not surprised you can’t handle any more it’s been none stop hasn’t it!

OP posts:
Daniki · 16/05/2025 20:42

@Marie1990xis it cariban you’re taking for the sickness and are you still on it? My friend has loads left over and just dropped me down some as I was vomiting all last night and it’s just started back up again 🙈 iv no doctors app until Friday week so scared about whether to take them or not but I can’t handle any more vomiting 🤣

Marie1990x · 13/05/2025 21:00

@Daniki I was talking about this with my mum saying can’t believe it’s practically 12 weeks always, crazy!

She said she couldn’t see anything so assumes it has been absorbed. Although she couldn’t see my ovaries either 😂.

ahhh yes of course they’d already guessed hadn’t they.

It’s funny I’m having a super different pregnancy too, but all my symptoms point to girl, but if it’s so different I’d assume a different gender. Who knows!

OP posts:
Daniki · 13/05/2025 12:30

@Marie1990xgod I feel like your pregnancy has flew 🤣 let the rest of it fly!(for both of us) is your SCH gone did they notice? No we won’t find out as hubby doesn’t want to know but I’m just assuming it’s a girl from the sonographer guessing it at the private 12 weeks one 🤣 plus it such a diff pregnancy than my son it must be!

Marie1990x · 13/05/2025 12:19

@Daniki that’s so annoying about the internal wall the time! Fingers crossed for next time. Especially considering how easy baby is picked up from like 10 ish weeks “normally” bet it’s so frustrating.

Haha yea I’ll have to have you as a name sake! Yeah most places here is 15 weeks privately, I’ll be dead on 15 so hopefully they’ll be able to find it 😂.

Will/have you found out?

OP posts:
Daniki · 13/05/2025 11:54

@Marie1990x i didn't think they would do gender scans so early? happy days! your due date is the day before my bday :D so baby will have to be called Daniki of course! yea really hoping it will be, at the last one you could see baby but not very clear and looked really far away or something!
