Another chemical?

Panda34 · 26/01/2025 20:23

I've had 2 chemical pregnancies in the last 2 cycles since ttc baby no2, feeling a bit fed up and not sure if it's happening again this month. I've used wondfo strips rather than easy@home which is what I'd been using before so hard to compare to previous months

What do we think? This is 9dpo-13dpo

Another chemical?

@Panda34 I am so so so sorry to hear this, I really hope you get your rainbow very very soon. I have had 4 since March it seems I fall pregnant quite easily which I know is fortunate in some ways but I never seem to be able to keep a positive line past 16 DPO (in fact most times I’m only getting a faint line for 3 days and then it’s gone) I am feeling very blessed to have two health children (also had two miscarriages in between 1st and 2nd but these were later around 7 and 10 weeks or so). Fingers crossed xx

Panda34 · 27/08/2025 07:46

Hi @Sparkle880sorry to hear you’re in the same boat, I had another chemical in June unfortunately and still trying

Hi sorry to be stalking this thread I am having a similar experience at the moment to @Panda34 and I was wondering if a few months on you had any updates really keeping my fingers crossed for you all on this thread x

Panda34 · 14/02/2025 13:38

@UserL95 ah so sorry to hear that :-( have been thinking of you.

I'm doing ok, still bleeding a bit but feeling ok. Think I never really let myself think that things would work out so hadn't got my hopes up.

@Panda34 hey sorry I went MIA. Sadly my pregnancy also ended in loss, I started miscarrying at exactly 6 weeks - what a roller coaster of a ride this is.
how are you doing?

Panda34 · 12/02/2025 17:21

@UserL95 how are you doing?

@Panda34 yes this waiting feels worse than the TWW ! men can take Coq10 too. The vitamin business must be booming as even I know how much I’ve spent on vitamins over the years ha !

Panda34 · 09/02/2025 19:53

@UserL95 wishing you the best of luck for your beta results, really hope it's good news for you! The waiting is the worst isn't it.

I'm hoping to get a refund for my private scan, it did say you can cancel with 48 hours notice so should be ok. The EPU said they will do one more lot of bloods in a week as can't discharge me until my hcg has gone right down.

Have just ordered some more vitamins to take for next cycle, I remembered I took Ubiquinol which is meant to help with egg quality, a few cycles before conceiving my dd so going to give that a shot again, and getting my dp to get back on the vits too! Expensive this ttc business!!

@Panda34 thanks for sharing your journey with me. Miscarrying and ectopic concerns must’ve been so hard but I understand that your anxiety is reduced now that you have an answer as to what is going on. Have you had any more support from the EPU? And wishing you so much luck and light on your next cycles(s) in conceiving.

ive now had my 3rd and 4th beta done, will get the results by Wednesday I reckon. I’m not feeling hopeful about it all again now. It really does come in waves - especially after the digital still saying 1-2 yesterday and my easy at home strips have been lighter the past 2 days after finally getting a bit darker. It feels impossible to be positive but I am trying to be hopeful.

what will happen with the early reassurance scan you booked now- will they refund you?

Panda34 · 09/02/2025 13:23

@UserL95 well Hcg has dropped to 62 this morning so they think I'm not having ectopic but that I'm miscarrying. I kinda feel a bit relieved as been a very anxious few weeks and had a feeling it wasn't going to be good news, just hoping for better luck next cycle.

@UserL95 yeah 3 months in a row, had 2 chemicals then this miscarriage or whatever it is this month! So weird it's happened as when I was ttc my dd all I had was bfn for month after month, so different problem this time getting it to stick! Guess we will just keep trying, I was reading about the baby aspirin after someone saying about taking it on here to help prevent chemical pregnancies so might ask gp about that.

Oh that's rubbish about your digital, sorry it's ruined your day. That's how I felt when I still got the 1-2, don't think I'll bother doing one if I get another bfp, feel like they cause more anxiety than reassurance ☹️ I did read a lot of threads where people have gone on to have a successful pregnancy after never getting higher than 1-2 though, so stay positive! It's not over yet x

@Panda34 im so sorry that this is happening to you, and the third time too? That sounds so tough :( hopefully the results that you get will be helpful in deciding what comes next. Any idea what that would be?

I did another digital today exactly 1 week on from my first and it still says “1-2 weeks” aswell - similar to you. So that’s put me on a right downer and I’m starting to believe this is not going to be a viable pregnancy more than I believe that things could still sort themselves out.

what a rollercoaster all of this is ey

Panda34 · 08/02/2025 13:14

@UserL95 that's annoying you have a 3 day wait for blood results, you'd have thought private would be quicker than nhs! Got my fingers crossed for another rise when you get your next results. Yeah that's true with the scan, I guess most people wouldn't know what their hcg is when they go for a scan so really hard to know if far enough along to see anything!

I'm going for second bloods tomorrow but bleeding like a period today so think it's over for me, just want to check it's gone down and that it's not ectopic. Going to cancel my private scan.

Hoping drs might run some checks on me now I've had 3 losses in a row, I'll book an appointment with gp soon I think.

@Panda34 ive had 3x hcg now (25, 34, 56) so all very low but going upwards. I’ve done another one today and I’ll do one on Sunday too but I won’t get those results until mid next week cause this clinic takes up to 3 working days to send the results which is so annoying. I’m trying to stay hopeful though.

When you get your second beta done, it’ll be really helpful to be able to trend the result. The clinic I went to today do a lot of early pregnancy scans. I was telling her I don’t want to do a scan until my hcg is much higher (1500+ like you said) and she said most people don’t know about that and do an early scan and then get stressed out when they have to do a beta. The clinic also said it’s so common for dates to get mixed up. Eg I’m 5w2d today and thought i was 22/23dpo today but my tests are so light that it’s more likely I ovulated later in my cycle instead! A lot of people online are suggesting chemical/ectopic which I’m super aware it still could be… but only time will tell us. Sorry that I waffled on, but i guess I’m trying to say there is still hope, and I will have my fingers and toes and everything crossed for you love

Panda34 · 07/02/2025 16:19

@UserL95 Thankyou will update once I know more! Have you heard on your next lot of hcg yet?

OP posts:
UserL95 · 07/02/2025 16:15

@Panda34 sending you lots of love light and strength. Will be waiting your reply if you feel able to share. Xx

Panda34 · 07/02/2025 16:14

@UserL95 Hcg of 154 so definitely too low to see anything on a scan, think she said needs to be above 2000 to see anything. They're repeating in 2 days and go from there.

OP posts:
Panda34 · 07/02/2025 12:52

@UserL95 she did say it's possible that it was too early but sounded like she thought it was unlikely seeing as I've had positive tests for a few weeks. Will see how the call goes later I guess

OP posts:
UserL95 · 07/02/2025 12:50

@Panda34 oh that’s devastating ! I’m so sorry to hear this :( I hope your call later goes as well as it can. Is it possible that it was still just too early to pick up anything on the scan?

Panda34 · 07/02/2025 12:07

@UserL95 great news your lines are getting darker, hope your digital will show progression 🙏🏻

No I didn't do my digital, I've woke up with some light bleeding so not looking great. I've been for scan at EPU this morning who've said they can't see anything and treating as a pregnancy of unknown location :-( really worried it's going to be ectopic now. They've done my bloods and ringing me back later with the results

OP posts:
UserL95 · 07/02/2025 10:05

@Panda34 hopefully the scan will be a good reassurance - is there anything you are doing or can be doing to keep you feeling positive/less stressed at the min?

my test lines are finally starting to get a bit darker! I’ve ordered another digital too so will probably do that tomorrow or Sunday. Did you end up doing your digital today?

Panda34 · 06/02/2025 21:59

@UserL95 those symptoms are good though, all the reassurance we can get!

Not sure if it's the same in your area but it's a self referral where I am, I just googled self refer to midwife and it should come up with a form to fill in, then she rang me the next day to book in.

Yes it did say to book towards the end of 6th week to see a heartbeat, hopefully that will be far enough if all is well. Don't think I can wait any longer!

OP posts:
UserL95 · 06/02/2025 21:48

@Panda34 6w4d is a really good time for a scan from what I’ve been reading up on! But I also have read that sometimes they can’t find a heart beat until into 7w’s due to positioning etc - will be thinking of you!

Not having symptoms doesn’t have to be a bad thing but I totally understand why they would be reassuring in knowing and believing you’re pregnant.

I started with sore nipples and still do have them, I’m getting tired easy and out of breath quickly. No sickness for me either though. Oh and I always want to eat!!!

I think I’m looking for all the reassurance I can get and will definitely be booking a scan in too but googling has told me to wait until my hcg is at least 1500 which I’m not even close to, so will see how the next two hcg’s go. I haven’t registered with the midwives cause I don’t know how to! I probably should look into it though ha ha

Panda34 · 06/02/2025 21:19

@UserL95 I should be 6+4 when I have the scan so if far along enough to see something if all is well 🙏🏻 I don't feel hugely optimistic but will see. With my dd I was puking my guts up by now and felt pregnant but don't really have any symptoms at the moment apart from being tired!

That will be good to have one more set of bloods, annoying that you have to pay for them but sometimes it's worth it for reassurance isn't it. With my dd I think I must have paid for about 7 private scans and cost us a small fortune but I don't think I'd have made it through without!! It's a shame gps don't do more to support us. Have you registered with the midwife? I have done and have been given my first appt for week after next, thought even if it's not good news then at least will go on my records.

OP posts:
UserL95 · 06/02/2025 21:06

@Panda34 how far along are you now? Maybe wait at least 5 days since your last digital before doing another one. A line is a line though and I guess we have to remind ourselves the tests aren’t really made for tracking progression?

how are you feeling about the scan - how far along will you be then?

yes I will do another set of 2 betas tomorrow and Sunday just to track progress. It’s SO much money but it’s peace of mind and where it’s my first pregnancy, god forbid if something goes wrong, I think it will be good to have the data. It’s so annoying the gp won’t support me. He said to me to stop testing and register with the midwife service and go to EPU if I start bleeding. Nothing else!
