Right, not going to test until AF due, not going to obsess over sore boobs, not going to think about baby names, not going to give up alcohol. Anyone want to join me in pretending to not obsess about symptoms/lack of?

Sorry Beanie. But the important thing is that AF still hasn't arrived.
When I was pregnant with DD, I had a faint pos, which DH didn't trust, so he went and bought 2 tests from sainsburys and these were both neg, then I had to buy a boots digital (which was a proper BFP) before we knew what was going on, so I think false negatives can't be that unusual.
Are you going to test again tomorrow?

beaniesteve · 13/05/2008 10:10

Hiya

I tested using the cheapie sticks this morning and was negative. Still no period. I am 10dpo and 2 days late.

tousletop · 13/05/2008 10:07

Beanie and PrePG any news? Beanie I don't think the length of your luteal phase can make any difference to when PT becomes positive, because if the hormones that are stopping your AF are there, then the test should pick them up, I would have thought

My boobs are no longer painful and I'm very spotty . I thought about my dates when I couldn't sleep last night and I think I'm due tomorrow or day after, not v hopeful at all now that I feel like this.

Bamamama - when are you going to test?

bamamama · 13/05/2008 05:03

beanie - test test test! I can live vicariously through someone elses test whilst I sit on my hands.....

I'm now on cd 29 so af should turn up anytime now really... I'm really trying to hold out on testing. I've been feeling so crap for the last couple of days and although boobs aren't sore they're definately there iyswim.

Anyhoo, hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather. It's autumn here and the aussies are complaining about how cold it is. They really don't know they're born...!

SweetieDarling · 12/05/2008 19:39

Hi fym. I'm due to test on 22nd earliest, good luck for 17/18th!!

Not expecting a BFP tho as don't feel like I have ov. this month (no ov. pains)

Yellowflowers - re milk!! that's exactly the sort of thing that would happen to me. DH unwittingly bursts my bubbles occasionally too, ie Me last week (on presumed ov. day): Do my boobs seem a bit bigger at the moment? Him: No, I've always thought that bra was too small on you

beaniesteve · 12/05/2008 19:32

still no sign....

tum de dum. I should test but I don't wanna!
If I have a short luteal phase is it better to wait until well overdue?

fym · 12/05/2008 19:14

hello all

not feeling at all pg so got a feeling this isn't my month....currently 7DPO... expect an LP of 12 or 13 making 17/18th my due date,..

good luck chaps

babyignoramus · 12/05/2008 18:16

No need to apologise for not knowing when my AF is due, blowed if I can work it out either!! I didn't ovulate early this time (I don't think so anyway), think it may be on it's way today/tomorrow...

If I'm assuming a short cycle like last time, I'll be due on 24th - if not, I'll be due on 28th. Either way, I can do HPT on 24th as long as I use a FR. So I'm a bit behind you guys but I'll update you all anyway!

yellowflowers · 12/05/2008 17:19

I feel hungry all the time then bloated once I've eaten. Also very thirsty. But it is very hot. So much for not symptom spotting... But AF not due until Friday at very earliest and following Sunday if latest.

OP posts:
tousletop · 12/05/2008 15:47

Ow ow sudden severe soreness of boobs. Typical premenstrualness, so a bad sign. Am grumpily expecting AF very soon.
2BG how lovely- ice cream and paddling pool sound idyllic from my stuffy office desk

2beautifulgirls · 12/05/2008 15:35

lol, We must all be preggers as my milk has smelt off this weekend too.
I was drinking Cider yesterday and i don't even drink unless i'm having the very rare night out!!! Think the sunshine has warped my brain
Feeling a little sickky today, its nothing to do with all the mini cornettos i've been scoffing
So when will you be testing bamamama?
Excited for you Beanie, so when will you be well and truly late?
The girls are in the garden, were in the paddling pool but it got a little breezy so got out and dresed not its gone really hot again. I will never learn just sat on the swing with no cream on and now seem to have a red arm.....

tousletop · 12/05/2008 13:34

Yellow, same for me at weekend! Must be this hot weather causing the milk to curdle... Anyway cup this morning was as welcome as usual
Bamamama, hurrah for temting fate. I realised I had no summer clothes (breastfeeding last year, pregnant summer before), so spent £550 last Sunday! Next we must book a ridiculous non baby friendly holiday, and get pissed every night for the rest of this week...
Beanie, give the cheapie ones ages to develop - from my experience they can take ages to develop a BFP line....

beaniesteve · 12/05/2008 12:08

Well, I am just so scared it will be negative. Going to hold out until I am well and truly late. Plus I am not sure I trust the tests my BF bought as they are cheapie ones.

bamamama · 12/05/2008 11:53

beanie - how exciting! fingers crossed for you.

yellowflowers - lol! the things we do, even when we're really, really, really trying not to obsess!

2GB, my ds is 2 this month, it was his due date 2 years ago today but he didn't show up for another 2 weeks. I've put him back in a grobag which seems to have curbed his cot climbing tendancies and contributed to this afternoons nap. I know I'm on borrowed time though

Well, I still feel a bit crap but I'm sure it must be all in my head. Have managed to stop counting dates from the last years cycles in my diary though. Also, read a hpt leaflet re accuracy in early testing - only 53% at 4 days before af is due. So we need to hold out as long as we can!

I decided to further tempt fate today (a la lighting a cigarette when waiting for a taxi) and bought myself a new pair of size 8 jeans. Bound to be preggers now!

yellowflowers · 12/05/2008 11:30

I just made a cup of tea and thought the milk was off. Got all excited. 'OMG OMG 'I'm pg' I thought. DH walks in sniffs the milk and says 'this milk is off'. Oh!

OP posts:
tousletop · 12/05/2008 11:22

Beanie - this is so so exciting! Personally I would do a test tomorrow first thing as I don't think I'd be able to wait any longer.
When you do one, promise you will let us know asap.
Cute new name Sweetie

yellowflowers · 12/05/2008 11:18

To Boradstairs to the sea. Am burnt though

SweetieDarling · 12/05/2008 10:20

PS it's Pixiepod here - have changed name x

Pixiepod · 12/05/2008 10:05

Thanks for the kind words Tousletop also Bamamama. It is reassuring to know that it can happen that way sometimes. Guess we all just have to keep positive! Am keeping my fingers crossed for everyone who is in anticipation this week. Hope its good news.

Last time I had just started taking sea kelp, horsetail and zinc (for my hair - it hasn't been looking its best in the last few years) and felt it may have "kickstarted" my system, so am doing the same now, even though the two things are probably totally unrelated! The things we do

beaniesteve · 12/05/2008 09:55

Morning Tousletop! Haven't tested though I am now officially late! How long shall I wait! I ovulated on CD16 and it's now CD25 so that would make me 9DPO (short luteal phase).

Have absolutely no symptoms and just keep thinking that my period will show up any minute. Will Just hang on as long as I can.

Anyone seen PrePG?

tousletop · 12/05/2008 09:43

Morning 2BG.
If we all had perfect fertility (and so didn't need to be on this thread) then maybe we should have timed further pregnancies to coincide with older child(ren) still having naps....
Pixie, no reason to think you won't be pregnant again straight away, I have 2 friends who were in much the same situation as you, and both got pregnant straight away when started trying again after a break following a mc

2beautifulgirls · 12/05/2008 09:31

morning everyone
Any news for anyone this morning?

fingers crossed for you beanie as i'm sure an 'm' flashing is meaning good news even thou i have no clue what it means

well done on all the BDing yellowflowers Did you go anywhere nice?

bamamama think you will be next to test, sounding good with the sickky feelings, fingers crossed for you. How old is your DS? My DD2 is 1.11 and just gave up her daytime naps a few weeks ago....And now wakes at 6.30ish every morning too

tousletop · 12/05/2008 08:26

Morning!
Any news Beanie and PrePG?
Bamamama - sounds promising...

bamamama · 12/05/2008 03:41

Hi all. I'm on CD28 and approx 12dpo but I'm attempting to hang out until Saturday as my cycle in the last 9 months has been anything from 24 to 33 days (usually around 27-29 days though).

I feel awful today, really bleuggh and sickky. Thankfully it seems ds is going to have a nap (he's been cutting out the day naps completely) so I can sit down with a cup of tea and feel prematurely excited sorry for myself.

Who is next to test?

yellowflowers · 11/05/2008 23:37

Was away for weekend so lots of BDing just in case I am having one of my occasional 35 day cycles. But assuming I'm not today (Sunday) I should be 8dpo.
