Period late, negative pregnancy tests, EWCM....wtf?!

Just wanted to update that I'm 39 weeks pregnant! I got a positive test early February so I have NO idea what went on during my January cycle, maybe my body knew I was going to conceive? It was a very weird month for my regular cycle and then I ended up pregnant... Who knows. But she's nearly here.

Hi @carsty I believe it was a very early miscarriage. I then got pregnant 2 weeks after which I miscarried at 6 weeks. Although, I took a month out and now I'm 13 weeks pregnant and saw baby wriggling around on my scan Xx

EWCM doesn't mean ovulation occured just shows a Surge in LH. I used to get this after DS1 which was annoying when we were TTC DS2. I had multiple surges and multiple EWCM. Those months I gave up and just waited for my period to arrive.
Also after DS1 my cycles were mad 21 days to 47 day cycles. Even after DS2 had some erractic ones but has stabilised since nursing reduced 2 months ago.

You could try BBT and OPK use. I started to use Fertility friend app it plots it nicely onto a graph.

Thanks for the reply. That's interesting to know because the bleeding has almost stopped but there has only been enough to fill one pad during the whole time this has happened along with this stringy clear fluid type stuff (sorry tmi 🙈) obviously I'm taking it for the worse and not getting my hopes up at all.
Obviously I'm abroad so my works insurance only covered me to have basic tests IE bloods and checked my cervix with a speculum exam and said my cervix was closed which was odd because I'd been bleeding slightly. Hopefully my doc will see the letter and follow up with an ultrasound to see what's going on.

I have the doctors when I get back anyway so will see what they say and hopefully get some answers but maybe just one of those things I guess! Good luck to you aswell I'm sure it will happen soon enough fingers 🤞🏼 xxx

I don't want to give false hope but this happened with my first they told me I was miscarrying, gave me a letter for a scan etc and then a few weeks later when I went for my scan I had a literal baby in there.

Update. So the cramping got so bad, I was vomiting, feeling really dizzy so was sent to the hospital. I'd been bleeding but not so heavy they thought ectopic at first. They took bloods and my HCG levels confirmed it was likely early miscarriage unfortunately and delayed bleeding. They've given me a letter for my GP to do a follow up when I get home for an ultrasound. In a way I feel almost relieved as my last period was 7th December so I just knew in myself something wasn't right as I was sick last week also. So atleast I can begin to move on and keep trying but this is the second time now so I just hope this isn't going to happen every time.

Sorry to hear about you, I realise how frustrating it is but just one of those things I guess. I think our bodies do decide to play up and throw a wobbly when we're anxious and TTC. If you don't get another period over the next month I would definitely speak to your GP and they can do some tests although it's so frustrating with our NHS isn't it, everything just takes so long you almost give up! Hopefully it will happen for us soon! Xx

Definitely ask drs to test you. I didn't bother going because I feel completely normal now despite not really having a proper period just pink /reddish when I wiped, none on the pad!
But all my symptoms are gone. I suspect I have had a weird cycle or potentially a phantom.

So I continued to test twice. I'd just done a flight as working away. The first had a pretty strong line again even after I'd drunk tonns of water during the flight. so tested again after a sleep....nothing at all, I just didn't feel right. My boobs have been killing all day and then I got really strong AF type cramps. Went out for dinner and wanted to leave early. Got home and had one wipe of pinkish/brownish blood.

Just don't know what to think at this point as this will be the second chemical in a row 😞 I've got the doctors 29th so will definitely be asking for some tests to be done xx

Unfortunately my bleeding got heavy at the weekend but it's still not normal, it's just red when I wipe instead of pink now. Still counting myself as our but I thought bleeding would reset my mind but I'm still as confused as ever😂 I have a lot of lower back pain and cramps so I'm gonna go see a Dr to ensure I'm not having an ectopic or something. Just to be safe as this isn't a usual cycle for me at all xx

Just an update like I said my boobs have been agony so been testing again. Top picture is Saturday night stark negative. Middle is yesterday, line came up within 3 minutes but thin and looked broken. So today went and got a 6 day early and so bottom picture that line came up straight away. It's thin and definitely blue in person. I don't always trust clear blue but considering Saturdays was blank and now 2 days in a row seems a little coincidental 🤷🏼‍♀️

So I do in fact think I ovulated late as I thought last Sunday/Monday which would put me at 7/8dpo. So if it is in fact positive it goes to show you're not out until AF so just keep trying! Perhaps yours was slightly implantation bleeding. I had the palest pink 2 days ago on wiping that tbh I don't think I'd have ever noticed if I wasn't TTC. So fingers crossed for you. Keep us updated xxx

Hi OP, any sign of AF? Or a BFP?

We conceived DD1 very quickly when I was 36 but had a completely different experience trying for another baby. My previously clockwork cycles started going haywire as I approached 40 and I'd have month after month of late or missed periods. I eventually put it down to peri and just stopped testing.

I'm now 42 and 30+3 with DD2.

I didn't even test until cd56 and only did so then as I was on holiday and suddenly threw up one morning at breakfast - I now know I'd have been about 5 weeks pregnant at that point.

I really hope you've maybe ovulated late and you'll get your BFP soon. I believe I'm out but I suppose it is just a waiting game.
I really can't tell if I'm having spotting or my period as it's so light but it has been on and off red not pink. So I am literally in limbo😂 I've recorded it on my Flo app as my period but I'm gonna test in a week just to double check! My last period was 6th Dec so it's been a super weird cycle regardless.

Oh wow congrats with your daughter I bet that was a surprise at the time! How old are you now do you mind me asking? I've found a lot of people on here including myself have said their cycles have become a bit more unpredictable once in their 30s.

Haha I totally know what you mean, tracking completely zaps the fun out of it and almost becomes a chore but it genuinely wasn't until I started doing opks and tracking my cycles that I even became aware of my cycles etc. tbh apart from my positive opks those two times I haven't continued to check them as clearly i didn't ovulate when I thought i did so maybe like you ignorance is bliss! 🤣

Haha I asked myself the same question can you ovulate twice 🤔 but much googling seems to lead me to believe you can only have a period IF you've ovulated and here I am still waiting with the most agonising boobs! 🤣 I had a vivid dream last night I was pregnant and kept waking up but then I put that down to my brain being overwhelmed wondering what's going on!

Bless you. I'll do that then I just have never done anything like this. My daughter is 3 and I fell pregnant with her the month I had my implant out (after being told I had ovarian issues which would mean IVF would be necessary lmao- then the issues disappeared when I had checkups post pregnancy lol!!).

So anyway TTC is a first for us. I don't want to put pressure on it but we are casually doing it. It's just an extremely bizarre cycle for me as I've not been on birth control for 1yr now and my periods have been 28-31days like clockwork!

I also started with cramping 2 weeks ago which is unusual as I don't usually cramp until after my period has begun.

Is it possible you could've ovulated twice? I feel my questions stupid but I wonder😂😂xx

@eggybreaddiedo you usually use opks? I have been for the last 6 months but tbh I find the whole thing hit and miss. My last period was 7th Dec (usually around 30-35 days so expected ovulation roughly cd 19/20) which was bang on, I had the most positive opk I've ever had and worst cramps but then I can't have actually ovulated because I then got a positive opk last week and strong cramps monday. If you can I would say try tracking bbt as at least then you'll know you've actually ovulated. I can't as I'm cabin crew and schedules all over the place so just wouldn't work. All I know is since I had the strong cramps Monday I've been constantly hot plus the sore boobs hence why I think that's when I actually ended up ovulating 🙄 better late than never I guess...Think the overindulging over Xmas threw me out 🤣fingers crossed you get answers soon xx

Driving me insane honestly. I've logged it as my period but it certainly isn't normal. I've also ordered some ovulation tests for when I stop bleeding and I'm gonna track it as I don't want to end up worrying constantly like I have done this cycle. At least if I see I ovulated I'll have an idea of my period dates. Please keep me updated on what's going on with you xx

@eggybreaddie strange. Perhaps you did have an anovulatory cycle. I had one about 5 months ago and was confused as it was the lightest bleed that I thought maybe implantation, it continued for a few more days so light but never came to much then I continued as normal 😕 very odd.....obviously may not be though, Only time will tell I guess but so frustrating isn't it! Xx

@eggybreaddie any news? I'm now 9 days late. Boobs absolutely killing to the point the shower is painful and I won't let OH near them. I've had clear/milky cm for 4 days straight now, I swear yesterday it had the slightest of pink tinge. Cramping for the last 3 days but still no AF 😩 driving me mad! I bought some more clear blue thinking they were the 6 day early only to get home and find they're the regular 🙄
I was so calculated with my timings but I've obviously ovulated way later than when I had my positive opks which is even more frustrating because if I were to be pregnant I wouldn't even know when to expect a bfp. I had very bad cramps Monday so I suspect possibly 6dpo but who knows.

So I'm 8 days late now, haven't tested in 2 days. I have pink discharge when I wipe but absolutely nothing in my underwear or anything that is like a period. It's the lightest pink ever as well.
I have no idea what's going on to be honest but my back is hurting a lot today and my cramps are still there. I thought when I first got the pink discharge that my period would arrive but it's been like this for 2 days now. Pink on a morning but nothing, just clear during the day or evening. I'm fed up now with it all, the bloating is also getting worse.
I've convinced myself that I'm not Pg but just in limbo right now. It's very unusual for me to have pink.
TTC is soooo annoying😂
