As the title says, I’m 2DPO on 12th January and TTC baby no.2. Feeling chilled at the moment as it’s 1st cycle and it took 4 months last time. Going to try and hold out from testing early!

I am all about the information too @houwseevryweekend I've tracked before but always fallen pregnant first month of trying. I lost 3 before having my 2 children and they were all easy or 'too easy'. Now we are in month 3 of proper trying and it's frustrating as we've never been here before. Definitely been lucky in the past but I'm nearly 37 now and it's showing. Still well within the realms of normal though.

I tend to try to BD every other day, maybe every day if I'd otherwise miss an important day. Definitely depends how much assistance I get from my husband though. Sometimes I feel like I'm forcing the issue but the timing causes me stress I try not to transfer onto him

I'll see tomorrow what my bbt is. Fingers crossed it hasn't dropped again as I think that could show low progesterone but I'm not sure. I'm not getting the best results anyway as my sleep is all over the place. Really I should hold out until 10 dpo minimum before testing but I'm not great at waiting so we shall see!

How was your BBT today? I think it would be early for implantation so probably just subtle change from the cold weather. And yes your rubbish sleep will change it a little too.
4dpo (ish) today - I never fully caught my peak as was away for the night so didn’t take my tests with me. Hoping the next week flies by!

@Esssa it is my first time tracking OPKs! I liked it for knowing what's going on in my body but also a real faff as I had to test 3-4 times a day towards the end to catch it. And all the symptoms of ovulation I thought I had previously didn't actually happen around the right days!!

Wondering if I just DTD every 2-3 days during the fertile week in future to cover all bases. We definitely won't be able to keep up the frequency we DTD this time around!

I hope it's just this cold weather messing with your BBT as 4DPO is so early still. When do you think you'll test?

Esssa · 11/02/2025 11:29

4 dpo today and my bbt is slowly dropping already. So I'm already counting me out over basically nothing 🤦🏼‍♀️ probably self preservation really. It's an okay looking chart though as far as I can tell.

@MakeMeJuno do it lol. Every little helps 😂

@houwseevryweekend you must be the rapid surge type. Makes it trickier to plan I'm guessing. And stressful waiting for it. Is this your first month tracking with opks?

I got my peak reading on an OPK yesterday so my app has me ovulating today CD15. Phew, my Premom readings (using one step strips) were rock bottom for so long I was worried something was wrong. But they jumped from 0.1 to 1.09 in a day! Am glad I tracked as would have thought the rogue EWCM I got on CD7 was a super early ovulation. Or relied on apps which had it CD13-14.

Will be in the 2WW tomorrow, but we are moving next weekend so won't have as much time to stress hopefully.

MakeMeJuno · 10/02/2025 21:38

ovulating today I think - signs were quite clear! we managed to DTD thursday - yday so I really feel we've given it our best shot! But wondering if I should get upstairs for one more go 😂luckily DH has a sense of humour about it all but it's so unsexy

Babydust82 · 10/02/2025 08:22

Thank you ladies :) I enjoyed a child free night away!

@Babydust82 Happy Birthday! Do you have any nice plans to celebrate?

Esssa · 08/02/2025 12:11

Aw fab, great that it's getting there and you don't need to worry it won't anymore. It's one thing after another isn't it?! Birthday present vibes all round! Happy birthday @Babydust82 🎂

houwseevryweekend · 08/02/2025 12:10

Mine was higher today (but not very high, went from 0.04 to 0.2) with FMU but then dropped to zero at noon! I had cramps and a tiny bit EWCM this am so we DTD as not sure if I could have peaked last night as a short sudden surge. My EWCM has turned creamy but cervix is still high and soft so who knows!! My apps says i should ovulate on Mon or Tue so will keep testing.

I ended up with a lower peak than I expected, think I actually missed it by testing early and late and it was mid afternoon. Anyway I'm officially 1dpo backed up by my slightly inconsistent temping. I had a dip then a spike. Fingers crossed a couple more days will get me a coverline. Think we covered our bases so should be in with a shot. I'm due AF on my birthday 😢But if I get a bfp that would be an awesome birthday present. How's everyone else getting on?

I think my peak is happening today because I just did a test and it’s way higher than it’s been. This is the day I had my peak last month too on CD19. Also today is my birthday so how wonderful a present would that be for us both!

Fingers crossed for you @Babydust82 the constant waiting for something just drags when TTC doesn't it.

So agree with waiting feeling. I'm feeling like currently i have one carefree week a month (post AF) and then the rest I am constantly waiting /overthinking everything and feeling generally rubbish. TTC is so much mental effort!

houwseevryweekend · 06/02/2025 13:05

Thanks @Esssa that's useful to know. I had lots of EWCM this morning but my OPK is even lower now. They're dropping consistently every day from 0.2 to 0.05 today which seems really low. So will keep testing and hopefully like yours it will rise in a few days. Yet another thing to wait and worry about!

You could potentially have not had a surge at all yet and those fluctuations are just a case of how hydrated you are at the time of testing :)
no rise at all yet for me this morning so I reckon will get my big surge tomorrow

@houwseevryweekend @Esssa
looking at past ovulation dates I wasn’t due yet but my CM started earlier. Now think ovulation just hasn’t happened yet as had more CM last night. I’m testing twice a day and no sign of a rise yet so hopefully in the next couple days. I get a surge really quickly

I'm on cd 14. Still waiting on an LH surge but it is rising now. This is a more normal cycle for me but it feels like it's taking ages as I got a suprise early peak on cd12 last cycle. Predicted OV on Saturday cd16 but we shall see. Trying to bbt this month but I have a toddler that wakes me a lot still so not sure how helpful it's going to be.

@Babydust82 is your LH still rising or is it falling now?

@IDontDrinkTea I'm doing something similar with at least every other day covered not sure we can manage 3 days on the bounce though so I generally decide as we go which days are more important. Hope you managed to BD with the idiot.

@houwseevryweekend I'm still testing low and I'm 2 days out from OV so I don't see a problem with that. Had 5 days just rumbling along at 0.22-0.37 before it's finally started climbing yesterday. Be interesting to see what today comes back as. Was 0.6 yesterday. I'm using easyathome opks and the premom app.

houwseevryweekend · 05/02/2025 23:03

CD9 today and I started testing OPKs the first time this cycle. It's left me confused as I had EWCM on cd7 which dried up but my OPKs are still low and decreasing further. I guess they could always go up in a few days, as I've read some women can have a short, sharp surge rather than gradual increase. App predicts ovulation on cd 14 but with my shorter cycles I don't think that's right anymore. So ignoring it and just DTD regularly to cover all bases. We are just wrapping up a major renovation and moving house this week so should be a nice relaxed time Confused

@IDontDrinkTea I had this last cycle where DH was being infruriating and I had to bite my tongue so we could still DTD. But I fumed the entire time! For the greater good and all that, i deserved an Oscar for that performance.

@Babydust82 Could you have missed it (do you test a few times a day)? It could also be delayed I guess?

IDontDrinkTea · 05/02/2025 21:46

CD9 today. Was going to try SMEP this month after some irregular cycles to try and make sure we don’t miss the window. However DH has been an idiot today and I’m not sure I want to 😂😂

Babydust82 · 05/02/2025 13:57

How is everyone? I’m CD16 and my EWCM seems to have dried up today but I still have no LH surge! Was expecting the surge today or tomorrow so this seems really strange to me and makes me wonder if I’m not ovulating this month

OP posts:
Esssa · 30/01/2025 16:46

@houwseevryweekend I use easyathome opks. The ones I meant are ones you take about 5 days after you think you ovulated and it confirms through measuring progesterone I think. I've no real reason to think I'm not ovulating except not being pregnant but is it worth £17 for 5 sticks is the question.

Aandk64 · 30/01/2025 14:13

I had a good full check about a year ago after not conceiving for more than 2 years.. everything came back fine.. I will mention it again though thank you.

After my private scan, the EPU had to do another too and said everything looks fine, but i will ask for a 2nd opinion next time i have one x

houwseevryweekend · 30/01/2025 11:38

@Aandk64 at any of your scans did the sonographer mention seeing fibroids or polyps? The private places don't normally tell you but EPU would. My friend had a small polyp they missed on her first EPU scan and needed it removed before she could ttc again as it can cause MC. They spotted 1 fibroid on my first scan and said not to worry as it wasn't near the embryo. After my MC, a different sonographer saw a second bigger one and couldn't tell me if the first sonographer had missed it or it was hidden by the embryo previously and could have caused the MC. So worth getting the clinic to scan you before pregnancy in case an embryo is hiding one, or doing a private scan for fibroid/polyp detection (lots of the private places offer these and it's more experienced sonographers).

The NHS is very relaxed about fibroids unless you have terrible symptoms (which I don't), but anything in the uterus could impact implantation or babies growing to term and should be investigated really. So defo push for that with the clinic.

IDontDrinkTea · 30/01/2025 10:54

I’ve been seen in the recurrent miscarriage clinic. It was essentially a very long wait, to have some basic blood tests and be told it was “unexplained”. I hope it works out better for you but personally I found it quite frustrating

I've had basic blood test done before, but at least the EPU will see me earlier going forward and i don't have to wait until 12 weeks or go private like i did in October for a scan.
