Hi ladies, a new thread for us to continue the amazing support into the new year.
Praying this thread will hold the key to many positives🩷
I’m currently on CD4 today and looking forward to a fresh cycle. We have now hit the one year mark TTC no. 3 so hoping for a miracle soon xxx

Bless you @SMD16 how awful to let you find out like that. I hope they can give you some answers and reassurance tomorrow.

dev86 · 04/01/2025 22:47

Hey guys 🩷

Long time lurker here, never thought I would actually post but everyone seems so supportive and lovely.

Am 38, husband 42, currently TTC #2 after taking years to come to the decision to try… DD is almost 5.

Came off progesterone only pill finally in July, holiday abroad in August/cycle readjusting, conceived end of September, positive test early October, MMC mid November at 9 weeks (growth had stopped at 6 weeks/slow heartbeat).

Started bleeding lightly which felt wrong, went for scan which confirmed the above, sent home for a week to wait it out, started bleeding heavily the night before follow up scan, admitted to hospital via A&E in a poor state (low iron, tissue stuck in cervix that was causing the heavy blood loss), resulting in a D&C a couple of days later.

Finally got period on Boxing Day, currently day 10! I use natural cycles app and have the cheapie Amazon ovulation strips so will be testing every morning this week. Planning to DTD every couple of days too (I usually ovulate around day 16) HOWEVER frustratingly we are both super ill with the flu at the moment!

Feel anxious and nervous about it all as am sure many can relate. Also starting to beat myself up about my age. It feels good to get it all out and hope for a virtual hand hold 🩷

Sending baby dust for 2025 for all of us ✨ It WILL be our year!

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 22:10

@Sunshine924 I know everyone is different and my cycles are varied anyway but after each CP my cycles were longer. Could just be ovulation delayed from that 🙏🏻

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 22:09

@KittyFantastica thank you for sharing and I hope you have your results very soon and they give you some answers. I also hope they speak to you first not via a letter because today has been traumatic. Let's hope EPU gets back to me tomorrow but I may just go and get some low dose aspirin tomorrow regardless. I'm
Also glad to hear they treat you as though you've had a 2nd positive result that's a relief.

The bloods must be taking a while with the Christmas period as I had mine on 4th December and only got the letter today.

KittyFantastica · 04/01/2025 21:28

So sorry for that nasty shock @SMD16

I don't know if it will reassure you at all, but I've also been tested for this (and a huge amount of other things) due to my second trimester loss of our baby boy in September. They did my eight week bloods about two weeks before Christmas, and I still haven't had them back yet. However, when we mentioned to our bereavement midwives that we wanted to try again and asked when we could, they told us we had the green light and that if any pregnancies were detected before those results, they would treat from as soon as the results came back. They also said they can provide aspirin, blood thinners and progesterone if I need it from day 1 as I'd had 3 miscarriages.

I know it's upsetting news, but there are things they can do now they know this may be the case for you even if you already have a positive. Some baby aspirin at the very least isn't going to do any harm.

Ncl31 · 04/01/2025 20:38

@SMD16 oh I’m sorry you’ve had that letter today after what could possibly have been an exciting day.
will EPU be open tomorrow for you to ring? It’s awful not being able to have answers.

Sunshine924 · 04/01/2025 20:25

@SMD16 yes it is strange! I've not been ill; I had a CP last cycle but wasn't aware that would effect things. I guess without doing tests I won't know for definite; I thought though that too can still be ovulating even if no EWCM so hope that's the case and we are covered by DTD every other day... I'm on CD12 now so in what I think should be the window....

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 20:14

@Emiily887 1 year is such a hard milestone, thinking of you and sending lots of luck x

@Sunshine924 ah wonder if somethings changed this cycle for your ovulation to be out. LH strips are handy but only detect a peak of LH some cycles you could even have more than 1! Hopefully your EWCM picks up soon. Have you been poorly at all?

@EEB1989 praying AF stays away 🤞🏻

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 20:11

So after my earlier tentative joy I had a letter through the post from the recurrent miscarriage clinic with my blood test results so I've spent the day crying and googling. The EPU aren't open until tomorrow morning so I will have to wait for them to call back for next steps but this is not what I expected to happen today! What a whirlwind of emotions.

Hi Ladies,
I think I’m out this month, it’s only our first try but I think I’d symptom spotted too much and convinced myself we had won the lottery!

Im not sure if I’ve posted in here or if I’ve just been reading all your updates.

AF is due tomorrow and I was up all night with AF type cramps. I’ve never had that before - usually I cramp and then AF arrives but AF isn’t here yet… I might test tomorrow (11DPO) if AF doesn’t come in the night.

Has anyone had this? Am I still in the game or am I just fooling myself 😩.

Sunshine924 · 04/01/2025 19:36

Hi all - ttc #2 here been trying a few months now. Struggling this month to know if / when I'm ovulating (usually go by EWCM but had barely none this month) so worrying a bit but going for the every other day approach instead! Might start using ovulation tests next month to check I actually am ovulating...

LuxyLocket · 04/01/2025 17:47

@Summerrose24 thats ok no worries 💕🥰I completely understand about the losses and how it feels and I’m sorry for yours too. Sounds like we had a similar sucky 2024. Let’s hope 2025 brings a positive outcome for us 🙏✨

LuxyLocket · 04/01/2025 17:46

Summerrose24 · 04/01/2025 17:33

Hi @luxylocket, do you take the aspirin all throughout your cycle? I was prescribed my last pregnancy due to past placenta issue, but that pregnancy unfortunately ended in miscarriage. I only took from week 6 onwards, and not while trying. I'd like to take now again from ttc, I'm on CD4.

hi @Summerrose24 I’m so sorry to hear about your mc, I had one in August so I completely understand. That’s why I asked the fertility clinic is there anything I can take to help. So ive started taking it as soon as it was suggested to me so I’ve taken it from the start of my cycle and my fertility dr said just keep on it all the time you’re trying to conceive from now on. Throughout the cycle. I am in no way an expert that’s just what my dr told me but I am hearing of quite a few women being put on aspirin.

Apologies - typed this quickly before reading the full thread, didn't mean to jump right in. I'm sorry for your losses, I've had the losses in 2024, hoping for a fresh start in 2025, sending you all the best 🌟

LuxyLocket · 04/01/2025 17:43

@Emiily887 Lovely to hear your update and I’m glad you’ve found a happy medium of testing for the ovulation but not early testing, I’m doing exactly the same as you there 💕I’m so sorry it must be so hard when it comes to those milestones, you are honestly my inspiration to keep going. The fact it took 13 months to conceive your ds but he was perfectly healthy. I have to believe it will happen. Also it’s kind of re assuring to be around a group of women who aren’t just conceiving super quickly and making it seem easy, I’ve a few friends who go pregnant straight away and I find that hard sometimes. The dr we saw said that it is perfectly normal for healthy couples to take over a year or more and I’m trying to remember that.
keep us posted how you’re getting on 💕

Hi @Emiily887 and welcome ladies happy new year to all. Here we are into 2025 but let’s continue with the wonderful support 🩷✨month 5 ttc our first after a mc. Had a fertility mot last month which helped me feel more positive.
cd 11 today and we’ve dtd yesterday and will aim for every other day now I’m in the fertile window but trying to keep things relaxed.
only thing I’m doing differently from now is taking low dose aspirin as advised by my fertility dr.

Hi ladies, lovely to see so many of us carrying on the support🩷
Been a mega busy few weeks over the Christmas period, I took a relaxed approach last cycle and didn’t test ovulation or pregnancy until af due. Unfortunately wasn’t our month and I’m now on CD 7 of a new cycle for the new year. We’ve hit 1 year of TTC baby no 3 so finding it hard, but it took 14 months to conceive DS after many losses inbetween so time will tell.
I’m going back to testing for ovulation but going to try and be relaxed and not test for pregnancy until at least 10dpo as it just stresses me out😂
Hope everyone is having a good start to 2025!!

I’m pleased you managed to have a relaxed time over Christmas. I think it helps us reset.
sorry to hear that AF arrived though… praying you get your BFP in 2025

Aww you guys that’s so lovely to hear others did the blanket thing too! My cousin did the gift of a wrapped blanket for us and I kept it under the tree as well. 🩷

Ncl31 · 04/01/2025 14:16

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 11:24

@Ncl31 I know! Very spooky timing. We wrapped a blanket up and put it under the tree on Boxing Day as that was the 1 year anniversary, spooky it was also ovulation day too. I have everything crossed for us both 🤞🏻

This gets even more bizarre. My boss who is a good friend gifted us a blanket for under our tree the week before Christmas. Maybe the blankets worked

LuxyLocket · 04/01/2025 12:39

@SMD16 very this, and I find the thing that sucks the most is that I used to be that blissfully oblivious person that was like ‘it’s a positive test, we’re going to have a baby!’ Now it’s turned into ‘we’ve got a positive that’s good but I hope it sticks’
Like it sort of takes away some of the excitement. This site has really helped as you don’t feel so alone. I did have to take a little break over Xmas and that’s totally ok when we need to do that. Take it a day at a time but sending positive thoughts to you ✨

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 11:42

@LuxyLocket every positive after a loss is even harder I find too. But sites like this I find really help. Until I find I need to take a break from it all. I hope it progresses too but we will just have to wait and see x

LuxyLocket · 04/01/2025 11:39

Thank you @SMD16 you’re right trying after loss is just another added layer to an already hard journey that ttc can be!
oh how exciting I can just see that line!!! I really hope it progresses for you 🤞🤞🤞💕

This is my VVFL with SMU today at 9 DPO. Now just a waiting game to see if it’s legit, or even another chemical. But this past few days my boobs have been agony, which I’ve never had before. 🤞🏻

Ooooooh how exciting! Fingers crossed for us both!
itd be weird timing given we both had a loss in December 2023 then both 9DPO today
