9DPO - positive is this possible?

Hi everyone!

im 9DPO today and I’ve just tested and I think I’ve got a positive. Unfortunately had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago and my period arrived on time so I’m a bit sceptical this time round. Kicking myself for testing early really. :(

@esunny @ThisOrangeCat I very very sadly lost this pregnancy too, the heartbeat stopped at around 8 weeks so unfortunately had a mmc.
Taking a break now from trying for a couple of months to try find some joy in life again. My HCG was really high, my lines were really dark so all of my obsessing over line darkness really didn't mean a thing.
Hope you are both doing great and go on to have very happy and healthy pregnancies and babies xxx sending you lots of well wishes

Oh hun I am so so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself. Sending you lots of baby dust when you’re feeling ready xx

@esunny I now have a craving for salted pretzels 😅 I haven't had any real food cravings as such up until now but I cant get pretzels off my mind now lol x

hey girls how are you getting on? I think the official nausea hit me today. I’m exhausted and feel so sick!!!! X

Oh me too, nausea is very strong especially if i get hungry or first thing in the morning before i get out of bed. Tiredness for me too but I cant nap as I'm in office 5 days, so finding that a struggle. My boobs and nipples are very painful now, not just tender anymore, full on pain especially if i hit off them by accident. Same @ThisOrangeCat just snacking little and often seems to help the nausea x although at times it's a struggle to eat

esunny · 20/01/2025 17:45

ThisOrangeCat · 20/01/2025 17:39

Same! I've felt rubbish all day, and have needed an hour's nap. Just a continuous feeling of nausea all day.
Have you found anything that's helping to take the edge off?

The only think I’ve found is snacking little and often. Salted pretzels for the win! If I get hungry I feel really sick. It’s a no win situation haha. How about you?

@ThisOrangeCat @Applecrumble9 I agree with the nausea, I am feeling it a lot tonight! I also had a lunchtime nap today too 😴

@Applecrumble9 it's so good that you get another scan. I'm really anxious for mine, but really glad to be having it as I don't think I could wait for a 12 week scan! Hoping everything is ok.
Insomnia is coming and going like you. I'm been absolutely exhausted today - had to have an hour's nap after work today, and a lunchtime nap yesterday!

Applecrumble9 · 16/01/2025 19:52

@ThisOrangeCat thank you, I have another scan just after 7 weeks too with EPU just as standard they scan after 2 weeks again so im glad about that as I was going to get a private scan anyway. It will be very exciting getting your 7 week scan 😊
Oh me too with the bloating, quite painful at times as im having lots of constipation (sorry tmi) boobs still very tender, very frequent urination, mix of insomnia some nights and sleeping more than usual others.
Has your insomnia calmed now? X

Rycbar · 16/01/2025 18:27

I got a strong positive on day 9! I did end up miscarrying but not until 10 weeks so it wasn’t a chemical!

Applecrumble9 · 14/01/2025 17:12

So I've been to the EPU today, had an internal ultrasound she did try external but its too soon so that wasnt working at all, the tech said i was measuring at 5 weeks, going by my dates I would be 5 weeks 4 days today so that's not too concerning as implantation/ovulation dates etc can be a little out i guess. Could see gestational sac and yolk sac and by my googling (torturing myself) afterward both seem to be within size range for my dates.
No foetal pole or heartbeat yet but the tech said she wasn't expecting those yet as its too early so I need to return again after 14 days. She stated that basically they do not know if the pregnancy is viable as its just too soon. The midwife and ultrasound tech both said my hcg was quite high at over 10,000 for 5 weeks however a single hcg result alone doesn't tell us much, and they have not asked me to repeat it. The gynae said the shape of the gestational sac looked good etc but stated again that really theres no way of knowing anything for another 2 weeks when they can compare to this scan. So I guess it's a waiting game, midwives didn't seem to be concerned by the colour/amount etc of my spotting, gynae stated it could be implantation bleeding (however I don't know if it's too late for that) ultrasound tech said the bleeding can go one of 2 ways really.
I have quite strong period like cramps but none of them seemed overly concerned by this and said it can be totally normal but just have to wait and see. So really all I know for now is that I've gotten a lot further along than I did the last time at 5 weeks 💕
Hope you are doing well girls xx

So glad you've got that reassurance and that things are looking positive.
Ive got an early scan a week on Monday, should be 7+1 by then I think.
I've started to get really bloated and just a little nausea in the evenings.

@ThisOrangeCat @Applecrumble9 it must just be fluctuating hormones! It’s crazy how I read into everything. Currently in bed already 🤣 my tiredness is through the roof and I hope this hip/ thigh pain stops soon! @Applecrumble9 good luck for your scan! Let us know how you get on xx

Thank you xxx my hcg bloods are over 10,000 so im hoping at 5 wks 4 days thats good, but i guess until the next set is done in 48hrs we won't know for sure. But hopefully since they are high they will see something on the scan xx
Yes I could gladly get to bed at 8pm each night 😅 the hormone fluctuations are crazy for sure. I've had the thigh pain for a couple of days, but it comes and goes, definitely worse in bed at night x

@esunny I'm having a scan at my EPU tomorrow, it may be too early to see anything but they will scan anyway due to the spotting. I have no lower back pain, but for sure have had pains in my thighs mainly the tops of my thigh and hips especially when lying in bed. My boobs are very sore and nipples v sore too. Nausea comes and goes, sometimes I wonder if the nausea is anxiety. I'm extra tired too struggle to stay awake past 9pm weekends included so DH is over the moon with that 🤣😅 I'm waiting on my blood hcg results but its only the first result so won't tell much x

I’ve had awful low back ache today and like a stabbing dull pain on my outer right thigh. It’s been quite distracting. Have you all had any symptoms? I’m 5 eeeks in a day or two xx

My main symptom is mainly tiredness. I was a bit concerned as other symptoms seemed to be reducing or fluctuating - I had really sore boobs a couple of days ago but barely anything now. But I spoke to my GP today and he advised that there was nothing to worry about as hormones fluctuate so much, and breast tenderness I'm particular will come and go. Tests are still positive and RHR still elevated. Waiting for the symptoms to really get started...

Thank you both so much @esunny @ThisOrangeCat I dont know what to think really, its very very light, and mainly brown, with 1 instance of pink. I'll hopefully get to EPU tomorrow but not sure if I'm too early for a scan at 5 wks 3 or 4 days. The waiting around is the worst, my tests are also lot darker now even since bleeding started, so its just hard to know. But I guess I'll see tomorrow, I still have all my symptoms so hoping thats a good sign.
Glad to hear all is going well 💞

How are you doing @esunny? I've had a tough weekend, Friday night i had some light brown spotting after wiping when i used the loo, it happened again Saturday morning first thing but was bright pink, not much and only when wiping, then again Saturday evening brown/red when wiping after using the loo. Nothing since, Called a&e but they said unless I had a lot of bright red blood or was in a lot of pain there was no real point coming in. She said it could be the start of an early miscarraige or it could be totally normal. Still have really sore boobs, tiredness and I'm still testing positive getting "dye stealers" etc.
I'll have to go to my EPU when they open tomorrow, however my local one needs GP referral so I'll need to contact them first. It doesn't feel like my CP (pain wise I have no real pain just the odd cramps/pains coming and going that I've had all along) no idea what to think really. I've only had 3 instances of the spotting and each is after I've used the loo when wiping, nothing on pads/in toilet etc but it has me really worried x

Edited

So sorry to hear this @Applecrumble9. For some reassurance, one of my friends experienced spotting as at around this time and everything was completely fine. It sounded very similar to what you're experiencing. She ended up having a scan and everything was confirmed ok and she now has a beautiful little boy. Fingers crossed that it's the same for you x

Hello @Applecrumble9 i’m all good thank you I referred myself to the midwife on Friday and saw my GP on Wednesday for some bloods and breathlessness. Im 5 weeks on Wednesday which is still really early but I’m holding hope with my CP happening the day after my expected period last time!

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that. It might be nothing! My friend spotted pink when she found out she was pregnant, if it’s not bright red and not like a period I’d try not to worry to much (although I know how hard it is!). If you’ve had no pain either hopefully it’s just your hormones getting used to not having a cycle and being pregnant. If it feels different from your last CP then there’s hope! 🤞🏾plus it’s a good sign it’s only when you wipe, it says online some spotting can be normal when early pregnant, I’d do a test once a week and if it’s still positive then you’re all fine!xx

Oh yes how strange!! My cycles are only 25 days so maybe that has a factor too? Xx

Mine are 31 days so that makes sense xx been to the doctor and thankfully she could confirm my pregnancy she pre-warned me before doing the test that their tests are not sensitive so even if it's negative not to worry yet, However as soon as she done the test the positive came up. I'm so happy as this is new for me, by the time I got to the doctor the last time they could not confirm pregnancy using their tests.
She's sent my referral to my local maternity hospital. I am going to book an early scan at 7 weeks just to put my own mind at ease. But this is already a step further than last time so im feeling a little more positive x

Glad to hear everything is OK 💖 xx the surge in hormones does crazy things doesn't it and then added worry on top probably makes everything feel worse xx
