Very, very well said! As previously mentioned, I had a MC, followed by a MMC back to back and then a pregnancy with a perfectly healthy little boy. However, I went into extreme premature labour at 19 weeks due to an issue literally every medical professional I've spoken to simply shrugs their shoulders at. It was very treatable, and no one paid attention because I was an anxious first time second trimester mum with two miscarriages in her history. I was refused care via triage because the person on the phone said I was 'just very anxious'. I was in early labour... The archaic attitudes are so harmful.
After my MMC, the midwife doing my bloods before my D&C said we could try again as soon as we wanted. She said the consultant will tell you to wait for at least one full cycle, but there's no actual basis for it, it just means dating of a future pregnancy can fit the NHS's required mould. Lo and behold, after the surgery, the consultant told me not to get pregnant until I'd have one full cycle whilst he was signing some paper work. I asked why and he said, it's better that way and left.
The midwife said do what we felt was right and that the NHS would just have to accommodate, which it doesn't like doing. The systems are decades old and don't work, but they stick to them anyway.
My mum had me at 36. MIL had twins at the age of 40, and another baby at 42. It might get a bit harder, but it's certainly not out of the realms of reality as we are made to think!
