Hi Ladies,
I just wondered, how often do you use LH tests? I’ve tested mine previously to see if my clue app is accurate - it usually is.

This is our first month trying, my cycles are usually around 29 days long, the clue app says O week is day 11-17 but pre mom days O week is day 14-19. I’m not sure which to believe…

Also, do you test twice a day? I’ve previously only tested once but I’ve got a decent stash of them so if needed I’ll test twice. Any advice welcome…

I tend to ovulate on the early side (sometimes as early as Day 10, usually between Days 12 and 14) so I start testing daily at around Day 4 when my period ends just to establish a baseline. I usually test in the evening when I get home from work as that's the most convenient time for me. Once the line begins to grow a bit darker I up my testing to twice daily (morning and evening) - my surge is often quite fast and short and I've found that if I only do once a day I can end up missing my peak.

A lot of it is trial and error and figuring out what works for you and your cycles. If you don't usually ovulate until Day 14 or 15 then probably no point testing as early as I do; likewise if you find that your surge is usually over a couple of days then once daily testing might be fine. If you have a lot of cervical mucus changes then you might be comfortable only testing once you see those changes.

Morning all - hope everyone had a decent weekend. Bit of a challenging one for me with the meet-up with all the second babies but made it through with only one small cry in the toilets.

Got my HyCoSy this morning, hopefully all will go smoothly and the only bit that will hurt is shelling out £600 for the privilege 😑Just taken my painkillers in preparation!

Very sorry @MummyV2021 :(

hello everyone!
I have been truly relaxing from TTC. I had to check what day it even was. Tomorrow will be CD10 and fertile window opens on Thursday, so I’ve still got 3 days to totally not think about it.
I have had the best time, even one drink and a couple of coffees, got the flu and Covid jabs done, and haven’t tracked anything or googled anything TTC related. It’s been a bliss to take a step back.

I am excited about the prospect of getting pregnant this cycle, but with the last one being so short, I am not very hopeful and focusing on the upcoming doctors visit instead

How is everyone doing? X

Morning ☺️ so glad to hear you’ve managed to really relax and take some time out of thinking about TTC. I had a christmas lunch this week and had a few drinks, and went away with my DH’s children this weekend for Christmas themed stuff so I have been really switched off from it too.

I’ll check my LH levels this morning but I think i’ll ovulate this weekend so I’m trying not to get myself stressed about it right now.

Hope your cycle levels out a bit this month x

Hello, I'm jumping over from the December thread.

I'm 9 or 10DPO and tested this morning. BFN, which I expected, so it's over for me this cycle. I know 9DPO is early, but I had a strong line at 9DPO when I got pregnant with my son. My two early losses didn't show up until 11/12DPO, but I had feelings in the days before those positives even then. This time, absolutely nothing. Just waiting for AF to arrive next week.

Same for me. BFN at 9 or 10 DPO. I haven’t been actively tracking so dates are based on the apps predictions. I think this/next month I’ll get some ovulation tests I’ve avoided this time as I didn’t want to get too focused on it.

Hi and thank you @Kateb149 It's a bit of an awkward one for me. I can't really count cycles well.

I felt pregnant first time we tried last December, then miscarried at 6 weeks. I then fell pregnant off the back of that miscarriage in January, and had a missed miscarriage 9 weeks later. It then took 8 weeks for my pregnancy tests to go negative and I was having random bleeds every 18 days or so. Found out I was pregnant again first week of June, which was a shock as I was certain I couldn't conceive with only 18 day random cycles!

Tragically, we just lost our little boy at 19 weeks in September due to u explained premature labour. We are still reeling and hurting so much from his death, he was perfect, but we're not young and have decided to try again as we are losing time. We weren't trying this cycle, we just didn't prevent, and AF is due in four days. I'd had positives in all three of my pregnancies by now, so I know I'm out. I think we will probably track at bit this cycle.

So, after all that, I guess you could say it's either cycle 1 (or 4 if you count all the failed pregnancies and the the NT, NP last month) for our first living baby 😔.

So sorry to hear about your losses 😔 it must be so heartbreaking, you are very strong.

I have everything crossed you will have your BFP again soon ❤️ have you spoken to your doctor about your losses? I know some gynaes recommend certain medications to help avoid it in future x

Hiya ☺️ I usually test every day from around CD8 or 9, and then when i’m nearing my fertile period I will test twice a day. I have a ‘rapid’ LH surge so it goes up and down within a half a day, so once it starts going up I usually test every few hours just to make sure I catch my peak! Hope the LH testing helps you this month x

Hello ladies!! How's everyone doing? Looks like I'll be joining this thread from the December one sadly. I got a squinter at 10DPO and a half decent FRER on Friday (12DPO) but fully negative today. So looks like another chemical for me 😢 AF due today but not sure if CP will delay it. So waiting for me to officially start my next cycle

So sorry to hear it looks like a CP 😕 hope you’re doing okay and we’re here if you need us! X

@Floralcat I’d be trying now, even though that seems very early in the cycle. But based on last month’s chemical, it would seem you ovulated early. I’m sorry you went through that. How are the OPKs today?

@MummyV2021 sorry to hear about your chemical too. Hoping this is the cycle for you x

@Fashionlover123 sounds like today and tomorrow would be right! I think the tests show up positive the day before peak fertility?! Good catch.

Fashionlover123 · 15/12/2024 11:26

I am shocked this morning…last month I didn’t ovulate until day 27! The cycles before was always CD17. This morning I felt like I had more CM than normal, did an ovulation test (it’s CD13 today) and it’s positive! Result of 1.09!!! I wasn’t going to test as it stressed me last month waiting until day 27 as well as DTD constantly so was gunna wait until this week to DTD. Hoping I’ve just caught it in time and today and tomorrow will be enough!

How is everyone doing today?

Im CD 14 and my app is saying today should be the day I ovulate. But the OPK this morning came up negative. Last month I ovulated two weeks later than expected. I’m wondering how others would approach this. Should we aim to have sex every two or three days until a positive OPK?

Interesting to see all the supplements people are trying out. I just have a multivitamin and folic acid right now.

@Cinnamonbunn I was about to come and post a question about OPKs as well as this is my first month using them, ive started on CD7 today as not sure when Ive been ovulating- mine havent seemed to clue app at all as ended up having a chemical pregnancy last cycle which only could have worked with dates if id ovulated CD9 compared to CD16 the app predicted for me!! So sorry cant help also confused 🤣

Hello! Joining from December thread. AF showed up on Thursday so I'm cycle day 3. Has anyone tried Ovum supplements? https://startwithovum.com/

I'm already taking a load of supplements: COQ10, Vit C, Vit E, Folic Acid and Omega 3, but I wondered about trying something different in the New Year.

Hi @Tally89 and @KittyFantastica ☺️ welcome to the January thread! Which cycle is this for you both?

@Tally89 I haven’t tried the Ovum supplements before, but I always check the reviews for supplements and go from there. I’m currently taking Proceive and have ordered some Omega 3 to go with it as I haven’t been taking that before. Any my DH has agreed to take supplements too this month so hopefully that helps🤞 x

Thanks ladies, hoping we all get our BFP soon. Well AF showing has given me the go ahead to buy a cheeky bottle of rhubarb and ginger gin and enjoy and relax over Christmas 😂I’m getting slightly annoyed though as this is our 7th cycle now and we didn’t have any problems conceiving before. I think if we get to a year of trying then we might just have to let go of the idea and accept that perhaps it’s not meant to be! 😞x

Hey ladies, joining over from the December TTC thread. AF turned up today. So looks like another month of trying… this will be our 7th cycle now! Fertile window is showing 22nd-28th this month so will be taking pregnancy test around 10th Jan when next AF is due. Hoping we all get BFP in 2025. Enjoy Christmas everyone 🎄☺️x

Hey 👋 so sorry to hear AF arrived, but you’re in good company here ☺️ hopefully a Christmas miracle happens for us all! Have a lovely Christmas and let us know how you get on x

AF today for me too following Mirena removal. If my cycle behaves itself I’ll be testing on my birthday.
I’ve bought some OPK’s to check I’m working. I wasn’t going to, but I’m too old to wait and see! I need to be more pro-active, I think

App shows my fertile window started yesterday, getting a faint line on an ok today after nothing yesterday. My work do tomorrow so we'll both likely be drunk! Will test for peak before we go, may have to squeeze in a quickie 🤣

Haha a quickie has definitely been successful plenty of times so you never know 😂

hello to all the new joiners!

CD6, so not much to report. Fertile window starts in a week, so enjoying days like today when I forgot about TTC all day until about 7PM. That was refreshing!

It’s nice isn’t it! I’m CD6 today, and will probably ovulate next weekend so I’m just relaxing for now and going to focus on Christmassy stuff ☺️ good luck to everyone this cycle!
