Morning ladies, making the jump to join but still trying to not get my hopes up too much...!
Think I'm around 8dpo this cycle. Traumatic MMC at around 9 weeks in Nov, and a likely chemical last cycle. Cruel!
Desperately wanting a happy healthy pregnancy this cycle... we shall see. Having lots of crampy pulling twinges like last time, and super vivid dreams which I had last time too... could be a cruel trick!
Good luck all and hope everyone is feeling ok (and not too cold this morning!!).

I have everything crossed for you!

they only give progesterone once they know it’s in the uterus and not ectopic.
If the test is still positive next week they should scan and then prescribe it but they can’t give it before then.
Hopefully what you think maybe period is implantation 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Seems ridiculous then that they won't just scan and have a look. Can you get a private scan just to see the position?

Hey everyone. Help please. So the strangest thing has happened. My period started bang on time on Tuesday, but I had a bit of a pulling pain that was a bit odd the day before. Today, just on a whim, I took a pregnancy test and it came back as a faint positive. I've called the early pregnancy unit and they say to wait a week and take another test to see. It's either a chemical or an ectopic (altho it doesn't feel like that as I've had one before). I'm fairly certain I can't be having this much bleeding like a normal period and be actually pregnant... right? Has anyone else been through this before?

Hey lovely! I wanted to share my experience of my early MC in December... my period was a week late (which made me 5 weeks and tipped me over from a chemical to a MC). I'd gotten faint positives beforehand but I knew something was off as there was some progression but not much. My period was heavier than normal and lasted 2 days longer so I took that as it. But then 3 days later I started light bleeding again and so I took a test to check and it was an even stronger positive (over a week after the bleeding started). So I went and got checked out and had a scan and they confirmed a complete MC and told me to take another test in a week to be sure there wasn't a pregnancy of unknown location. I did take a test after a week and was still positive but was fainter, however took another week to turn completely negative (literally a few days ago). The light bleeding that restarted carried on for over a week and I actually ovulated whilst still bleeding and whilst testing positive. So it was a super confusing time for me! So I completely understand how you might be feeling.

I think the advice they've given you is probably right and whilst I hope this is a good outcome for you it does sound very similar to my experience. Your body can just hold on to HCG a bit longer sometimes I think. I've had 2 early MCs and a few chemicals across both times TTC and my tests have never taken than long to go back negative before.

Sending hugs and solidarity! Xx

They're supposed to give you progesterone if you're bleeding and have a positive test! Please please demand it from them. The guidance changed in 2021 but so many aren't aware!

In my first pregnancy I had my chemical/early MC at 4wks ,3ds which is tomorrow for me. So I feel like I'll be on edge until I get past that date.

Those with BFP, how many weeks until you'll relax?
I'm planning on having a private scan at about 7wks to see if there's a heartbeat, and if there is then it'll feel more real for me.

@Tally89 really sorry, never been through this before although I do have friends who had bleeding in early pregnancy and ended up with healthy babies, but I don't know if that was a bit further along?

Can't give any advice but just wanted to reply as I'd be so confused and frustrated in your situation! All of this is hard enough without our bodies doing extra weird shit

Thanks for replying lovely! appreciate it. Weirdly I actually feel OK about it, but yeh it's a v strange situation. It's also now turning into a longer period than normal for me and a bit heavier so I'll keep testing and hopefully the line fades off (I know it seems wild to wish for this but if not then I'd worry about an ectopic) and I can chalk it to a chemical and just keep on trying. The early pregnancy unit in margate were very not bothered and said they wouldn't even scan me til I was '6 weeks', which, if you have an ectopic feels like too long to wait.

@AlbatrossSociety there’s not a feb thread yet as quite a few of us aren’t dye AF until next week but we agreed if anyone who’d already had their BFN/AF arrive they can go ahead and make one as it’s maybe 50/50 on who is out and who might still be in.

If you make a thread pop a link in this one so we can all find it 🥰

We were scuppered in November with being ill so just didn’t bother and class December as our first month TTC.

AlbatrossSociety · 09/01/2025 15:51

Hi all, I'm hoping to join you all but I'm 99% sure I'm out for this month, AF due on Saturday and I can feel her coming!! I think we were scuppered by my partner having flu in December! I was trying very hard to be sympathetic while also trying to very subtly communicate that I was going to be ovulating soon and could he please pull off a miraculous recovery so we could dtd...

Is there a Feb thread already or not?

Congratulations to those of you who got your BFPs and good luck to those who are yet to ovulate or in the TWW. My daughter is 2.5 and it's funny trying to remember all the acronyms!!

Hi all, I'm hoping to get some advice on TTC, any vitamins, supplements etc.. I've previously used seven seas trying for a baby tablets but had no luck!

I have had symptoms of Endometriosis in the past but never been given a full diagnosis.

If anyone has any help for me I would appreciate it 🥰

Hi 👋 welcome to the thread ☺️ we’ve just been discussing supplements funnily enough! I was taking Proceive and they have some very good reviews but have found they’ve given me lots of breast pain. If in doubt strip back to the basics of Folic Acid and Vitamin D, also coQ10 and Omega 3 can be good too.

I’ve had symptoms of endometriosis since I was a teen and consultant said I probably do have it but they consider me too young for surgery - so I feel your pain!

I’m starting this year just trying to focus on being as healthy as I can… I think that’s one of the easiest things I can control right now until I get my BFP 😅

@Wisher88 I've seen those but didn't know they were that sensetive, sounds interesting! 😍

Annie2288 · 09/01/2025 14:17

@Wisher88 We did try but didnt do it today or yestersday so we have to wait and see but i have ordered a new pack of Ovulation tests x

Bargain of the day today, went into boots and found a pack or 20 clearblue ovulation tests reduced to £20

Has anyone tried the new pregnancy tests that use your spit from Superdrug? (Other chemists are available...)
I've actually ordered some just because it's not something I've ever tried. They pick up HCG at 2ml, so more sensitive than any other at home test I believe. Sounds amazing tbh.

This is me. I’ve been 29 days for months and this month - the first month TTC I was 33… those few days I sort of knew I was out this cycle but had a glimmer of hope.

AF arrived overnight so I’ll be joining the Feb thread. I track everything so I’m not sure why/how we didn’t catch that egg!

In a way I’m glad it’s here because the quicker it arrives the quicker we can try again 😂.

Truthfully, you might have caught the egg but not every egg is good enough quality to fertilise, and there's no way of knowing the quality of eggs (apart from medical intervention).

@SarahB88 Thank You. I will

To be honest if you DtD every other day from day 10-20 you'll be covered. If you've got the stamina then go every day.

I think I will ovulate on Saturday - finally!! Feels like ages.

Hopefully Saturday or Sunday for me - toddler is having a sleepover at grandma's on Saturday so that would be excellent timing.

All this chat of supplements is making me chuckle, I've taken so many different things over the time I've spent TTC 1 and now 2 that I practically rattle when I walk. I think I've tried everything mentioned apart from royal jelly and now I'm wondering if that'll help 😂I think so much of my obsession with supplements etc is trying to obtain control of something that I fundamentally have no control over. I'm convinced in most case they make nil difference to me (obviously aside from folic acid) but most of the time I think 'can't hurt, might help'...

Newest additions this cycle are a probiotic (because I'm now paranoid about my vaginal microbiome) and spinach, blueberry, beetroot and flaxseed smoothies in an effort to ensure a nice lining.

I haven’t had this issue but read somewhere that Proceive can cause worse PMS and breast tenderness. I’ve been taking it for 4-5 months now and had both of these issues, so I’m going to just take folic acid, coQ10, omega 3 and vitamin D from now on.
Hoping I will see a positive difference but I know it can take a few months 🤞

Yah I think I’m going to pack it in too - hoping we both see a positive difference 🥲

I feel like my body is teasing me, this is so hard!
I spot so I know I'm out, but then stop for a day and hope creeps back in even though you try so hard not to let it! Then spotting starts again and you feel like crap all over again 😭
