I am cd1 on my 5th cycle of trying since my TFMR in May and this is new territory for me. I conceived my daughter at the age of 30 on the 2nd cycle and conceived my little boy in Feb this year on the 3rd cycle. Unfortunately he had T16 which was fatal. Most babies with T16 miscarry in first trimester but my little boy held on for me to see him on a scan. Unfortunately he was not doing well and i would have ended up miscarrying eventually as the condition is not compatible with life.
So here I am TTC again at the age of 35. Cycles are finally back to normal but I just don't seem to be getting pregnant as easily as before. My boys due date is tomorrow and I really hoped to be pregnant again by now.
Anyway enough with my rambling. Who else is over 30 and TTC?

Hi Ladies. Unfortunately it is looking like I may have secondary infertility as it looks like I have a c section niche with a pocket of blood with it. Also a potential adhesion. I have been referred to Gynaecology but it is likely to be a 4 month wait to see gynae and then would need a specialist scan and a potential surgery. I am so upset. Considering I have been pregnant since having a c section I can only assume the last pregnancy has made things worse. It doesn't mean I cant conceive but can make things hard and it comes with a risk of miscarriage and/or uterine rupture. Absolutely devastated. I only went to have a scan due to spotting for a few days after period. I wasn't expecting this tbh

Hey everyone, thought I’d join in here as TTC no2. I’m so sorry to hear of the losses some of you have experienced.

It’s just our second month of properly trying, our daughter is 6.5 months old but I’m going to 37 next year so we want to crack on. My partners also decided he may want a third so we really do want to get going 😂

I’ve been using OPKs as my cycles been a bit all over the place since having my daughter. However, my last two cycles were the same length so I hope I’m settling down now, just wanted to try OPKs to make sure I was ovulating. I’d come off the pill before conceiving our daughter, had one weird post pill cycle then fell pregnant on the second normal cycle so hoping for a quick one again but who knows.

I’m CD12 and got my LH peak today, we had sex yesterday but my partner seems to be coming down with a bad cold so hoping we can sneak another one in tomorrow at the right time! We skipped trying last month as we were both full of the cold so hope it doesn’t scupper this month too.

I'm so sorry to hear of what you've been through😔
Same as you - I got pregnant with DS at 30. Now I'm 34 and trying for my second. I was very lucky to concieve my son on the first cycle. This time I'm on my third 2ww! Currently 6DPO.

Edited

I don't think I've updated since I wrote this! I'm now nearly 5 weeks pregnant!🙂

Hello, we decided to get away last minute and have booked a holiday in France. I'm not tracking, but I've noticed a tiny bit of EWCM today. I'm only CD9, but cycles have been odd all year due to the multiple miscarriages, so I could ovulate any time. I'll do an OPK each day until we go just in case I do ovulate early and, if I don't see anything happening, I'll just go on holiday and we'll enjoy ourselves blind to it.

Jemmy94 · 02/12/2024 10:23

Hi hope you don't mind if I join! 31 in January and ttc #2 this will be cycle 12 currently waiting on aunt flo to show! Took me 14 cycles with my first so expecting it to be longer this time round!

Mummysparrow · 01/12/2024 19:57

How is everyone?
Cd11 here and I had some EWCM yesterday so I think I should get my LH peak tomorrow 🤞 a few days earlier then last month so cycle is definitely getting back to normal finally 6 months after loss

No, @Mummysparrow, no timeline. I do have the bereavement midwives coming today and again for my 8 week bloods appointment next week, so I'll ask them again. I have a list of about 40 questions to go through today. We want to try again, but I don't feel right doing it without the green light from the bloods.

Congrats @NamechangeTTC It doesn't get much clearer than that! Crossing my fingers for you.

Sending so much love @KittyFantastica

Knightbaby · 21/11/2024 11:12

@NamechangeTTC Congrats! At least you’ve that confirmation now! Really pleased for you 🥰

I should be 4+ 1 on LMP

Mummysparrow · 21/11/2024 10:00

Congratulations @NamechangeTTC I would say wait a week or so for 2 to 3 weeks. I always think these digitals are random as you are more likely 3 to 4 weeks pregnant going by LMP 🤣 but they don't t go by that

NamechangeTTC · 21/11/2024 09:57

@Mummysparrow got an in date test
holding off on the FRER
that’s confirmation at least. Not sure when to retest. Quietly had hoped for 2-3 or 3+

@NamechangeTTC I think it is safe to say they are positive. I used out of date LH strips occasionally and no problems with them.
@SMD16 it is so hard isn't it. I feel for you as that is a long time to wait when you just want answers

Hey 👋🏻

I'm 32 and been TTC no 2 since my cycles came back September last year. I have long irregular cycles and had 3 early miscarriages in the past year. We conceived my first born on cycle 5 of TTC and never realised how long it could take to be honest, naively.

It's been a stressful journey, doctors referred me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic 19 weeks ago, still no appointment and waiting list was at least 20 weeks unfortunately.

I am currently 10DPO and have tested negative since 8, so didn't test this morning and am just going to expect AF. My luteal phase varies between 10-14 if I'm even actually ovulating!

My heart goes out to all of you who are struggling/ have lost their precious ones x

I’m 32, hoping for first baby. Have done various home hormone tests. Also recommend It Starts With the Egg book, all about improving egg quality which is particularly relevant if you’re 30s and above

Myhusbandismywholepersonality · 20/11/2024 18:10

I’m 32 and ttc baby number 1
we got pregnant first cycle back in August but unfortunately this ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks, so currently awaiting my first af post miscarriage before we can consider trying again

Mummysparrow · 20/11/2024 16:35

@KittyFantastica have they given you a timeline on how long it may take to have the debrief?
Well my period started yesterday morning briefly then stopped and done it again this morning. I am 15dpo and period is normally here 14dpo and I have a negative pregnancy test so who knows what is happening. I just want my next cycle to start.
I was thinking of going back to bare basics with vitamins but I have pretty much stopped and changed vitamins every month for the last few months so think I should probably just hold on. I have no chill any more and no patience

So sorry @KittyFantastica and @Mummysparrow those sound harrowing

I’m 36, TTC #2. Cycle 1 and missed ovulation I reckon (although didn’t test)

truing not to obsess like last time

KittyFantastica · 19/11/2024 22:31

I didn't know what to expect @Mummysparrow I full well knew it could take a while to get pregnant, but I never envisioned two early miscarriages and attending my own baby's funeral this year. It really has been the worst.

We declined a postmortem. He was alive and perfectly healthy the whole time. They did a bedside scan and Doppler and said he was thriving just moments before doing an exam and then telling us my membranes were bulging. They suspect an infection, but we won't know until all the tests come back we've have the debrief. Still not idea when that will be, sadly.

Mummysparrow · 19/11/2024 17:01

@CandH35 it might be worth looking out of EWCM too as that usually happens a day or two before lh peak so that could give you an indication when to LH test and when you are most fertile

OP posts:
CandH35 · 19/11/2024 16:58

Mummysparrow · 19/11/2024 11:32

@CandH35 I have seen it take 6 months for cycles to get back to normal after Pill which is frustrating isn't it when trying to conceive. Have you been using any LH strips to track ovulation? Also are you taking any supplements?

@Tadpolecat hopefully this is your month. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

@Fairy0708 16 cycles?! You must have patience of a saint. I can't even imagine how you are feeling and here I am moaning that I am 6 months in 😂 have you considered a hycosy scan?
@Knightbaby fingers crossed for you 🤞

@Mummysparrow I'm holding out hope it is the case I'm in the 6 months bracket and trying just to enjoy the Xmas period and refocus in the new year. But like you said it's so frustrating and feel in limbo while being so ready to start ttc. But I reading through everyone's posts I've had an easy journey so far in comparison.

I started taking proceive plus sachets in August. I did also start tracking ovulation using easy at home and premom app in both cycles but gave up when I realised the numbers weren't rising to save money. I did manage to catch a peak on the last cycle as my breasts and nipples were so tender I knew something must have been happening. I then got AF 14days after with some spotting the two days leading up to it so my LP seems a good length which was a relief and confirmed something was happening. Hopefully my boobs might give an indication this time as well so I can start testing and dtd closer to the peak. I think we only managed dtd 4 days before and 2 days after last cycle as I wasn't expecting it and I was away the weekend off the peak which was typical.

Mummysparrow · 19/11/2024 15:43

@Fluffypenguin1 honestly I used to get well annoyed with my period as my cycles were anywhere from 28 to 35 days so it was a waiting game. It's only since my loss that I realized that I get an LH peak 2 days after EWCM and that my period was on 14dpo. Life changer 😂😂
