@Squeezinglifeslemons @Allnew2021 hope it all goes really well for you both at least you are getting underway now 😊

Allnew2021 · 11/02/2025 19:22

I started down regulation injections on the 21st January and had my scan last week to check, everything was looking 'nice and quiet' so I start stims this Thursday! I finally feel like I'm really getting started!

How's it's everyone else doing? I joined the February thread and there are lots of others there to share the journey with.

Squeezinglifeslemons · 11/02/2025 17:03

Hi all,

How is everyone getting on? Any updates or progress? 🤞🏽

I’ve started my stim cycle this weekend. Not sure when to expect the emotional turmoil to start!

Thatslifethatsit · 20/01/2025 22:45

@lovelivelaugh63 short protocol both times regular periods
I was already a gym goer and more protein based diet generally I do have more eggs and veg for breakfast now
vitamins I already took iron vitamin c and d but added omega 3 and Co q 10 this time round but with my first no Co q 10
my advice would be not to overanalyse or punish yourself and try as hard as possible to go with the processes (much easier said than done) everyone reacts differently to the stims it doesn’t always work first time we had 3 attempts to get that right and weirdly I got more embryos this time than I did for my first child so who knows why that happened as I’m a few years older

lovelivelaugh63 · 20/01/2025 22:30

So happy for you @Thatslifethatsit
Did you have short protocol or long?
What did you change in terms of lifestyle, diet, any vitamins you ate?

What tips would you give us?

Thatslifethatsit · 20/01/2025 15:17

Got a bfp here so quietly optimistic but not counting our chickens yet

Thatslifethatsit · 20/01/2025 15:17

@lovelivelaugh63 we have always had icsi worked well for us

lovelivelaugh63 · 20/01/2025 13:04

@ivfjourneyandme are you doing IVF with ICSI this time round?

We are doing ivf with ICSI for a better chance at fertilisation.

BussiBop23 · 20/01/2025 11:58

Hey everyone! We've got our first fertility appt for early Feb. Such a long wait, we've been trying for 2+ years with one miscarriage along the way.

My tests so far have all been OK with the only "issue" being found is low morphology for my partner. Assuming they will offer ivf? Or maybe a Hycosy as I haven't had one of those.

All the uncertainty and the long wait is not fun! I'm trying not to have high hopes for the first appointment as I don't want to be disappointed.

lovelivelaugh63 · 11/01/2025 16:06

Hi, my dr has been off sick so we have to delay our treatments until Feb/march.

Squeezinglifeslemons · 10/01/2025 18:54

We have had to delay our treatment for a month. My partner has had the flu this week and I’m starting to feel sniffle too. Tomorrow would have been my day 1 but we have concerns that I will end up more poorly after starting my stims which we’d need then need to cancel. We’re NHS funded which would mean losing our chance another.

Weighing up our options it looks like delaying is the best option.

How are you doing?

FinallyPregnant2022 · 10/01/2025 16:50

Ooo good luck @Thatslifethatsit 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thatslifethatsit · 10/01/2025 15:39

WanOvaryKenobi · 10/01/2025 14:24

Hi all,

I’m starting my first round of IVF in early Jan.
I’m 30 with PCOS, endo and adenomyosis but have been told we have unexplained infertility. OH is 33 and everything is fine on his side. Been trying for 2.5+ years and as otherwise healthy people, still no success which as I’m sure you all know, is heartbreaking every month.

We’re excited to get started now after such a long process so far. Hopeful. Came across groups for IVF across other months when I’ve been researching and thought it was so lovely for people to be able to talk to others going through a similar journey and feel less alone during this difficult process.

Fingers crossed for us all that we get our little miracles xx

Allnew2021 · 27/12/2024 14:16

Hi, I hope everyone is doing ok and had a good Christmas.
I am due to start IVF in January. We have been trying for nearly 4 years and after lots of investigations through the NHS (and many delays!) we went private in February 2024. In my baseline scan they noted my lining was very thin so they did 2 further repeat scans at different times in my cycle. From this they also noted there were signs of adhesions (probably from a previous ERPC following a molar pregnancy in 2021). I was refered back to the NHS for a hysteroscopy to investigate and remove the adhesions. I had 3 months of hormone treatment to help repair my lining and our clinic have finally given me the go ahead to start IVF in the new year.

Eliise · 26/12/2024 12:33

@WanOvaryKenobi Christmas and fate have postponed my attempt at pregnancy. After the egg retrieval, I was immediately told that the transfer would be delayed because the uterine lining was too thin. However, I later found out that the transfer wouldn’t have happened anyway, as none of the fertilized eggs developed sufficiently. I was instructed to call the doctor once my period starts to discuss the next steps and treat the lining. My period started, but it's Christmas... so now I’m waiting for January's cycle.

MissEmily5 · 24/12/2024 20:23

@Thatslifethatsit definitely! I just want to get going now, I know it’ll be tough but I’m eager to get cracking with it.

@lovelivelaugh63 i think as long as your smear test is up to date, you’re all good:)
Definitely something I think with modern day living- don’t know if you read ‘it starts with an egg’ but it definitely touches on some fertility issues linked to nowadays. An interesting read for sure!

@WanOvaryKenobi sorry that you’ve been in this journey so long. Wishing you all the luck- the waiting is definitely frustrating isn’t it. It’s a true test of patience. 😔

WanOvaryKenobi · 13/12/2024 11:48

I'm 32, PCOS, husband is 42. No children. Trying for nearly 3 years. AMH is 80 something p/mol so doing the short (antagonist) protocol. In Scotland so 3 rounds of ICSI.

Decided to delay until after Christmas but I'm due my period when the lab is closed at the end of December. So will have to wait until next cycle at the end of January, blood tests in February, and stims to start in March (if we get in). A bit frustrating but I guess it's another 11 weeks to be as healthy as possible.

Eliise · 13/12/2024 07:15

@lovelivelaugh63 I had to do all different kind of analyzes. Included smear test.

Thatslifethatsit · 12/12/2024 22:07

@lovelivelaugh63 they need to see your results from latest one I think up to 2 years?

lovelivelaugh63 · 12/12/2024 22:01

@Eliise @MissEmily5 @Thatslifethatsit did you guys need a uptodate smear test prior to starting ivf?

lovelivelaugh63 · 12/12/2024 22:00

@Eliise amazing news about your egg collection.
You want the best chance of getting a bfp first round so take it easy and slow.

Honestly there are so many couples who suffer from infertility right now, and it makes you wonder, what's changed in the last century?

Is it our unhealthy lifestyle now? The food we consume? lack of healthy, balanced diet?

Infertility is horrible, and only those going through it will understand how it takes away your shine and turns you into this miserable, cold person.

Thatslifethatsit · 12/12/2024 21:47

@Eliise that is good news re egg collection
they often decide to do a freeze all embryos they are so precious just enjoy Christmas now and hopefully they can transfer for you soon

@MissEmily5 it is heartbreaking and seems a lot of unexplained infertility out there 🤞 in Jan you can get going on your ivf journey

MissEmily5 · 12/12/2024 19:24

Hope everyone is doing okay and good luck to everyone going through this. Infertility is such a heartbreaking experience. 💔
My first appointment is mid January, we’ll have been trying 20 months for our first. Me and my OH are 29 and 32, started private testing back in February- at first I was told I had a thin endometrial lining (a few scans confirming) and my OH a low sperm count but last he had tested it was ‘normal’. So who knows why at this point 🙈

@Eliise very sorry to hear the horrible things said to you. I hope you get your chance to prove your mother wrong. X
