Ladyinpink1 · 27/10/2024 17:50

Hello, I have been ttc since September 2022, fell preg twice the first year, but neither worked out, now on month 14 ttc since then.
Have tried all dif supplements and different ways ttc and tracking/not tracking.
Just wondered was anyone else in the sane boat or been in the same boat and have a success story? 🙂

What does mfi mean @secondtimelucky87 ? That's great that it was effective enough to change your LP, even if it is yuk lol.
Mine is 13 days, so I will be due my period on 10th November. How is your temp today? I hope you haven't had a dip. Yes not sure how effective it is but it def does something as my ov day moved from cd12 to cd14, not sure if that's good or bad but we will see. x

You are at the lovely part of the cycle where it's a bit more chill @moosey89 🙂 I am 4dpo so trying to be chill about everything. Trying being the operative word lol. You started a new job recently didnt you @moosey89 , one with lovely exotic travel.. how is it going? Please tell me I got that right 😂 x

AF came for me sadly. I sort of knew when I woke up this morning and temp was 36.62! 12 day luteal phase again.

MFI = male factor infertility. Last two semen analyses both showed some issues, though last one was slightly better. We were about to book a third one and then go to a fertility clinic but then my husband got ill and had a fever so we were advised to wait 3 months. Not that long in the grand scheme of things until December. Just really want to know what our options are. I'm hoping there'll be other things we can try ahead if IVF as we've conceived naturally once (even though it took forever).

How are you doing today? Any symptoms? Wishing you lots of luck for this cycle! 😊 x

its different to endometriosis what my dr treated me prophylactically for was endometritis which is infection of the lining so affects implantation . I’m 5 dpo so maybe it’ll be the thing that works but after this long I’m assuming I’ll get another bfn next week (although having a bit more hope than usual is nice)

Ah sorry I misread, the words are so similar! I don't have any lining issues, had so many scans etc to check, the last loss was definitely genetic as we had it tested, so we're waiting on genetic blood tests for myself and my partner currently. Because all 3 of my miscarriages were missed miscarriages of a similar nature, the EPU thinks they have all had genetic causes. If the bloods come back normal, this means we've just been super unlucky unfortunately.

@Threepointfive I've had explorative surgery, no signs of endometriosis so it's not that 🫠 although never heard of anyone having a "just in case" treatment for endo, that is really interesting!

@Ladyinpink1 ah don't worry about it, so many conversations on the go here 😅 I'm day 7, so ovulation testing begins again in a couple of days. How about you?x

@secondtimelucky87 is the blue line bbt? Yours line looks really high and steady, when did you say AF was due?
Yes I know what you mean, I feel the same like it couldn't possibly happen but at the same time I am filled with hope, too many emotions. 🤯.
The ashwaganda is my husbands, but apparently it can balance hormones and reduce stress so I thought why not. Lol. My chart is looking ok, 3 days of rise so definitely ovulated. Will attach mine too x

That sounds really good about the ashwaganda! Reducing stress definitely played a key part in me conceiving after so long I think. Yeah the blue line is BBT on the chart. I think AF should come tomorrow or friday. What about you? For ages I had a 9-10 day luteal phase but since I started on the Proceive Max (🤢) it's extended to 12. I definitely ovulated too this cycle as finally checked my progesterone and it was over 50 at 7dpo. I suspect our issues are mostly with our MFI so just want December to hurry up for clinic visit! X

Grand total of 54 cycles (4.5 years), 3 MMCs. Had every test under the sun and all are totally normal 🤷 had an HSG too, didn't work for me, kinda got my hopes up (just like when they say you're more fertile after a miscarriage) and so felt worse when it didn't happen. Starting to think it's just not the path that I was meant to go down. Giving it until July (with a review in Jan to see if I want to keep going) before we stop.

Have you had prophylactic treatment for endometritis? I had a 14 day course of doxycycline in September as a ‘just in case this is the reason’ treatment as we can’t find any other problems . It can affect implantation

Unfortunately as we do home artificial insemination we don't have the option to go down the relaxed route. In some ways it's good because it prevents sex becoming a transaction 🙈 but in other ways it's annoying because we can't just "see what happens" as for us the answer is obviously nothing.

Of course you are,and I totally knew that from before, sorry. It's hard to remember sometimes the details when having multiple chats, but I should of remembered. That makes things difficult in a different level.
I get what you mean, dtd is definitely like that when ttc because you are doing it for a reason. Where are you in your cycle now? x

@secondtimelucky87 Sorry you are feeling out this cycle. Will you wait for AF or test? That's good to have a plan coming up, hoping that makes things feel a little easier for now.
I hope so too, I find every tww so long.
Although I am fully tracking now with bbt and opks again and it definitely makes things worse, I started ashgawanda last cycle and it has moved ovulation by 2-3 days both this cycle and last so I feel like I need to track atm to ensure we dtd on the right days... can't win 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

Yeah I'm fully in the OPK/BBT life. My temps are still above the coverline, if slightly dropping now. I'm basing on nothing really. I guess I sort of don't feel any different than usual? I was so shocked when I finally got pregnant after 3 years the first time - I feel like deep down I find the possibility of it happening again slightly hard. Which is silly as it definitely doesn't help. 🙈 Yeah I feel super positive about having some next steps coming up. Just really want to know if there's a chance of it happening naturally again. I'll have to look up the ashwaganda. What does that help with? I'm on Proceive Max (absolutely rank - have to choke it down with orange juice 🤣), two Omega 3s and extra iron. How's your chart looking? 😊

@Objectiontime I'm waiting on a referral to Dr Shehata that was put in earlier in the year. My last loss was definitely genetic causes, and I get to 8-11 weeks so they don't think it's that but no harm in the referral, although as it's NHS even though it's been 6+ months already I don't expect an appointment before my July deadline unfortunately.

Ahh excellent, glad you have a referral for immunology for Dr Shehats. I was thinking that you hadnt had immune checked yet. It may be that you have antibodies that kick in around that time. I know the NHS waiting is pretty bad. I hope you get to see Dr Shehata reasonably soon and that he finds a treatable issue for you. I did read somewhere that the NHS waiting list for him was around a year. Crossing everything for. I think there are always going to be some losses caused by genetics but going down the immunology route will be new and may well give results.

Where is everyone who is trying at in their cycles right now? I am 2dpo, so in my least favourite part of the cycle x

How often did you go for the accupuncture? @LkS2 x

10dpo! Just the usual cramps I get on and off every month and feeling a bit blue so fairly sure Aunt Flo will be making her appearance in a few days! I finally checked my progesterone this month and it confirmed ovulation at least, which is good. I'll be heading to a fertility clinic in December to find out what things can be tried as an alternative to IVF if any! I hope the next few days pass really quickly for you! 😊

Fairy0708 · 28/10/2024 09:02

Such a lovely positive message. Those 3 years just have been so hard but glad you got there.

I totally agree. There is no evidence that stress causes infertility. What I have read however is that stress can interfere with hormones/biology that can make conception more difficult. For me I know that through a really rough period of stress for around 6-9m my periods totally changed, got closer together!

Thanks for your kind words and I'm sorry to hear you've seen the effect stress can have on cycles! Hopefully better now 😊 x

LkS2 · 29/10/2024 18:05

I went weekly, and continued weekly for the 1st trimester, then every 2-3 weeks after that until birth, which happened prematurely. I was really a sceptic at best but i had heard so many positive stories that i thought it worth a try. Of course, I'll never know if thats why I fell pregnant but it can't hurt. I wish you all the luck.

No he hasn't, he is a rascal, said because I have already been pregnant 4 times he doesn't need to 🤷🏼‍♀️ i will ask again soon x

@Westofeasttoday I will keep taking it every day too then, I know, I have been trying to tell myself to make a conscious effort to be more relaxed. I ordered magnesium salts today so going to try and have baths in them as it's supposed to help you relax and can balance hormones so we will see x

@Fairy0708 Thank you, it sadly seems to be so common. No abnormality from any of the blood tests and they did so many, which was good but also frustrating as there is nothing I can fix. The appointment I have coming up with the gynecologist is actually because I have had 2 and I am over 35 (I'm 36), I'm not really sure what to expect but I will take anything going and any advice I can get 🙂
So everything went well with your investigations? Or was anything found? How did you find the hycosey? x

@Westofeasttoday 17 sounds horrific, I can't even imagine.
I have actually been taking baby asprin this cycle from just before ovulation. Although part of my tests were the coagulation tests and they came back normal but I thought it can't do any harm anyway as it's only the 1/2 dose. Tbh I would try anything!
Did you take it every day of your cycle or just the latter half? x

That's a big outgoing for you @Threepointfive I hope things happen naturally for you before January. Do you have any plans to try anything new or different between now and then? x

You are too kind but we were lucky in the end…..I took it when we were trying (when I started) and then everyday until 12 weeks can. I asked my doctor and he said it was fine. All fingers crossed and I mean this kindly and not in a condescending way but really try and relax. When I let it go and tried not to be so stressed that helped too. Sure a lot easier said than done I know, Everyone’s journey is different and sometimes it takes longer or you need a little help.

I tried for 2 years, 2 losses in that time. I did fertility acupuncture and fell pregnant 5 weeks later, and my baby was born earlier this year. No idea if it was the acupuncture but I had tried what felt like every single supplement/trick in the book and was willing to try anything. Lots of luck x

BlackToes · 28/10/2024 19:28

I had the same and day 21 progesterone tests showed immature eggs. Just needed clomid tablets to conceive
