No temp, has eaten and picked up again, think he's just very tired and I'm feeling it too. Its been a night of broken sleep this week.

I don't have anyone that can look after him. No family and all my friends work.

NJ, I wouldn't say a particularly important day, just that I was off on Monday afternoon for the same reason - he was sick on Sunday night and because Monday was important for me, DH stayed home in the morning until I got back at about lunch time and then he went to work. Fortunately, DS then slept for a couple of hours so I was able to do some work (you didn't see me here, honest! )

The thing is, he seems to be sick quite alot and I just don't know at what point work are going to say that there is a problem. My boss is new and so far, has been really good - she has a youngish child too so is understanding and so far, hasn't made me book any days as unpaid leave. I'm in quite a senior role and going part time and having flexible working hours isn't something they'll let me do. I have to do overnights and international travel too.

I want to be a good mum and be committed to my job and I'm really starting to wonder if the two can go together. Its work that's giving coz I won't compromise for DS, that wouldn't be fair. I have no qualms about him being at nursery full time as I know he has a wonderful time, he has lots of friends and does all sorts of things that we wouldn't do at home.

And I'm TTC ???? I We must be mad. Its CD20 today and managed GOF's 17 and 19. We've got a friend coming to stay tonight so not sure if we'll make it tonight, but think we should try to sneak one in if we're going to cover all bases, so to speak.

I have a BANGING headache, guess that's the lack of sleep. Thanks for letting me hijack. Diege, I'm at the forcefulness of some of the posts on the other thread, some gentle guidance and opinions would have made me feel a little less stupid . Its why I don't post very much, only here really...kind of a safe haven.

kayzisexpecting · 02/05/2008 08:57

I'm trying to get DS to walk. He isn't having any of it. He'll walk if you hold both his hands but he won't walk on his own.

Diege · 02/05/2008 08:18

Ooh Cals, not sure now...if he's still kept his drink/food down mught be OK? Has he got a temp? Hi BB!
Must dash to do school run, speak later!

NatalieJane · 02/05/2008 08:08

Mornign BB means to be sick, sort of!

Right I must go and do DS1's lunch/get DS2 ready/kick DS1 up the arse....

kayzisexpecting · 02/05/2008 08:08

I know what you meant, I loved taking my neice but she is too old for me to need to go on with her. I don't think DH would let me join in.

NatalieJane · 02/05/2008 08:07

If it is looking like a bug Cal, then you are probably best off letting him stay home.

Did you have an importnant day planned at work? Could someone else watch him for you while you do the important bits?

nobodyputsBBinthecorner · 02/05/2008 08:06

morning all!!

havent had a chance to catch up so apologies i will do tonight!

what does boak mean??? x

NatalieJane · 02/05/2008 08:05

I meant join in at soft land

I can't swim properly, but taught DS1 to swim on holiday! I know how to do it, and if I absolutely had to (i.e. life or death kind of had to!) then I can, just don't like to not have my feet on the ground! LOL I am the same on a plane, I find myself pushing my feet onto the floor, and in the car..... I am a bit of an odd ball!

calsworld · 02/05/2008 08:04

Diege, I'm a bit torn now, but only because he's turned a bit downhill now, he won't let me put him down and is very subdued...of corse, nothing to do with being tired having been awake fron 2-3.30 this am .

Just can't do right can you. The little sod will be running around again in a bit.

Oh, just plopped off lap and I think he's after food!

Wish to god he could talk!

kayzisexpecting · 02/05/2008 08:00

See I'd love to join in. Would be great fun. DH can't swim so he'll be staying with DS and I don't know if he'll find it boring.

NatalieJane · 02/05/2008 07:56

Swimming everytime, soft play is the place of nightmares! Unless you are like me and join in

kayzisexpecting · 02/05/2008 07:49

Does anyone want to go to the dentist for me?

I hate the dentist and I have been finding it really hard to brush my teeth in the morning as it makes me feel sick. I've been doing them in the afternoon and evening instead but I'm sure they'll moan.

Also we are going to take DS out this weekend, but we dont know what to do.

Would you go swimming or take him to a soft play place?

NatalieJane · 02/05/2008 07:41

Cal I am with Diege, DS1 went through about 6 months worth of just being sick every now and then, for no apparent reason, once we were just going out the door to school, DS1 had obviously been fine, I opened the door, he said "Mum I feel sick" I said "Upstairs to the bathroom now" he was sick, brushed his teeth, said he was absolutely fine, so we went to school, just in time for the bell!

As Diege said, you know your son, and you would know if it was a bug, or just one of those things.

I did take some of that piroton (sp?) stuff last night after Playing's suggestion, but it has done nothing.... guess it is just an odd cold, will probably come out properly next week while the last thing I will need is a cold!

Diege · 02/05/2008 07:25

Bloody hell, I am in the minority aren't I??

Diege · 02/05/2008 07:23

Cals, just thank them for his advice and get him to nursery

Diege · 02/05/2008 07:22

Cals, you know your own son best, so it really is a case of go with your instinct. Based on my own experiences of using nursery for 6 years (and still having dd3 there), they (the staff) would even say to me that if a child hadn;t been sick that morning, then they're happy to have them. It really does seem to be the poo thing they're need the 'quatrantine' period for

calsworld · 02/05/2008 07:19

Diege, have to say, I'm with you - just wanted to see if anyone else would be! Looks like I've started a prickly one, hope I don't get shouted at!

Diege · 02/05/2008 07:16

, Err, looks like I am in the minority Cals, but still go by the breakfast test theory..I think it's just diarreah (sp?) that nursery has the 48 hour policy on? If he seems fine and isnt; clingy, tearful etc, and has kept his breakfast down, there's a very good chance he will be absoloutely fine.

Diege · 02/05/2008 07:14

Morning . Cals, I've had this a few times with dds - a sudden vomt-fest and then fine. I always go on how they seem in the morning in making the decision to put in nursery or noe. If it is a bug, the morning milk/cereal will invariably come back up. If not,and he seems fine in himself, I would think it was just a 'one off' (funny how they always seem to be at night!). So yes, if no more sick, then put him in. They will let you know if he is not well!!
Kay, some good advice from Squack there - and you too Nat re: the pope and his coffee break, pmsl!! For what it's worth, it does sound rather like hayfeaver symptoms Nat, and many people have been getting them for some weeks now.
Well I have a nice trip planned to Salford Quays today to see my friend from the NOV05 thread that I went down to London with. Should be fun, and of course we will be totally on time . Then it's back to the dreaded shoes shop to get yet another pair of shoes fro dd1 this time. I just hope the items I'm seeling on E-bay pull in some wodge as I am getting seriously broke!
Speak after school, diege xxx

calsworld · 02/05/2008 07:08

You weren't quick enough for me , started a new thread here

calsworld · 02/05/2008 06:59

DS was sick again last night - spectacularly - like a scene out of the exorcist. OK, I'm exaggerating...

when i picked him up from nursery he was fine, but very tired. went home as usual and fed him tea, watched a bit of telly together then bath and bed. settled down ok, i'm downstairs watching telly, he starts crying and is very upset very quickly, so i go racing upstairs, pick him up and walk into our bedroom with him as i can't soothe him, and he projects dinner and his nightime milk EVERYWHERE.

Advice needed - do I have to keep him home today? He woke at 2 and wouldn't settle back to sleep, till I realised he wanted food and he had bread and marmite, which he's kept down. He went back to sleep and slept till morning when first thing he's done is asked for food.

Is it possible he just ate too much for tea last night? He stuffed a big portion of chicken pasta then had 4oz milk?

He just doesn't seem ill.

calsworld · 02/05/2008 06:55

Hi, anyone there, I need advice and don't really have time to start a new thread?

NatalieJane · 02/05/2008 06:48

Good morning

Kay I am the same, I don't get morning sickness, well maybe a week or so of very slight nausea, but not actual pysical sickness. I really would try not to worry Oh and LOL at the song Although think I'm gonna be singing it all day now!

I also had lovely thick pregnancy hair, after I had him it fell out in handful (literally - I was peeing myself!) then it started growing back, then when I finished feeding him some more grew back. The first lot that started growing is in my fringe now, but the second lot is still standing on end until I do something with it!

Squack glad DD's birthday went well, what a long day though!! And hoorah for temp rise

LL hope your DD get's on OK at the doctors

Looks like I will deffo be off the thread for the whole week, DH added about 5 things to the list last night that we have to get done..... won't have time to scratch my head the way it is going.

Still bunged up, but not blocked up, how does that work? How can you feel all bunged up, but then be able to breathe through it?

Squack · 02/05/2008 06:36
Grin
kayzisexpecting · 02/05/2008 06:32

I haven't been worried about it until last night. A lot of the girls in due dec are worried and its just got me worried now. I'm maybe one of those lucky woman that never get morning sickness.
