Hi all,
Starting a thread for people who are TTC/testing in November 2024.

A bit about me. I am TTC#1. I'm 35 and DH is 36, we have been trying since Dec 2023 and this will be our 13th cycle! We've had some basic tests and all seem to be OK, but GP referred us to fertility clinic today. So feel like we're entering the next stage of TTC.

Fertile week is next week. I'm not going to test until a missed period, which will be 14th Nov.

There were a lot of positives in the October thread so hopefully we're as lucky! 💖

@Fairy0708 i have been so tempted to do this! Have you found stopping tracking has helped you feel more relaxed? I think even if I wasn’t tracking i’d still be trying to predict when i’m ovulating even without OPKs 😅

It really has! I would stop tracking and then start again and every time made me more depressed going back to it. After a year of on and off tracking it made no difference either way so I would rather save my money. As you say you can predict based on cycle days 😂 how many cycles have you been trying?

JW24M · 29/10/2024 12:18

I’ve decided next month (cycle 5) I am only going to track CM and BBT. Not going to use LH’s and just DTD every 3 days and then when CM/BBT indicates potential ovulation we’ll ramp it up. So so so many people have said to me that tracking just adds stress, and when you stop and go with the flow that’s when they have had a positive BFP. Am sure there is a lot more to it than that but going to go with it! Xx

I am interested in how everyone navigates the fertile window with their partners. We usually dtd once or twice a week which suits both of us. I know it only takes one but struggling with the expectation that I'm placing on my DH when it's go time and trying to not feel frustrated if we can't do it as often as I see some other posters managing too. Hopefully once I have a better idea on cycles I can time when we do a lot better.
DH has just ordered some fertility supplements so maybe that will give us a better chance if we're not dtd as often as I'd like.

I have been super frustrated in the past when OH didn’t understand the timing of it. When I explained the next day as to why I felt frustrated he understood, and actually has said ‘it’s important’ when i’ve been like ‘sorry I know you’re tired…’. we just havr to be honest with them I think - we only have a small window of potential opportunity which was never explained in school!!! We are similar in once/twice a week but during that fertile window we’ve got in a pattern that it’s go time for a few days back to back 😂 xx

@JW24M thats such a good way to do it, I think telling my DH about my fertile period and stressing about it hasn’t helped him at all! So I completely understand why he feels that way.

Oh my god how amazing would that be ☺️ Christmas surprises are the best!

@CandH35 I am with you, it would be interesting to hear how other people deal with it. We were BD every day but found it wasn’t working, so we’re now just doing it every other day around the fertile window. I’m trying not to force it because it does just feel unnatural otherwise! We ended up just laughing last month because neither of us was actually in the mood 😂

Weve varied from trying 4 days in a row from ovulation peak to every other day. I've now thrown allll the tracking out (never used it for DC1 as god knows how but we concieved on cycle 1 from DTD 4 times only, roughly around mid cycle).

I do get ovulation symptoms but who knows what's going on in there!

My OH feels the same - it is a lot when we’re trying to push during a specific time frame. I’ve just tried to be super light hearted about it to him, and not mentioned the window as such (what we felt was the best thing to do). We’re much more relaxed now.

My dream would be to tell him on christmas day! It would be so perfect 😭😭 but i’ll take any time of the year at this rate! Lol xx

Hi
Can I join? I'm 40 trying to conceive my third and my husbands first. We were had a loss in August so trying again. Hopefully Nov will be our month 😊x

Kateb149 · 29/10/2024 10:35

@JW24M @QuirkyPiglet I’m glad we’re not on our own ❤️ wishing you both lots of baby dust. Fingers crossed we get our BFP soon.

My husband is Christmas obsessed so if I did get a BFP it would be his christmas present finding out 😅 but I feel like that’s putting a lot of pressure on!

He has said this week after my fertile period that he’s been feeling the pressure so I’m going to try and relax as much as I can to help him, but it is easier said than done! xx

I would love that too! failing that, it’s my mums birthday end of Feb and I think it would be an amazing birthday present for her to announce it then as it would be her first grandchild (and as my sister died last year, her only chance of being a grandma)

Oh bless you - what a tough time! :( i’m sorry! Sending so much love xx & baby dust! Xx

@JW24M oh wow so similar to me! Let’s hope cycle 4 is lucky for us 🤞 I’ll be 32 in December and was hoping i’d be able to announce I was pregnant by then but that’s not happening now 😅🤦🏼‍♀️ but i’m sure we’ll both get our BFP soon! Xx

Hi, can I join in. I’m new to MN and I joined the TWW thread yesterday and met @JW24M 👋🏻
I’m 35 yo and partner is 43, we’re TTC our first. I’ve never been pregnant. My partner TTC with his ex-wife and was told he had low sperm count. It’s only recently that I learnt that sperm count can be improved with diet so I’m feeding him up with healthy foods 😂 It’s 4DPO for me

@MrsSMxx I’m So sorry for your losses 😔
@HollyGolightly4 you’ve found a safe space here with us(

I'm on CD 10 today so going to start tracking my ovulation using the strips. I've had CM this morning and that's usual for me. I got it on cycle day 11 last month and we DTD cycle 11,12 and we conceived but unfortunately had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks so that's why I'm using strips this cycle to just know if Il ovulation this month

MrsSMxx · 29/10/2024 07:11

Morning all, thank you for the warm welcome. Sorry to hear of struggles so far. Wishing everyone a lovely positive month of BFP's xx

1woodpecker · 29/10/2024 07:11

Wondered if anyone here has been to the gp yet about fertility and how did you get on?

I had some blood tests (under the guise of periods changing rather than just fertility as it hasn’t been a year yet), and an ultrasound which showed a small fibroid but also looked like a v thin lining but then it was done early in my cycle so not the time they usually measure it.

I’ve done hertility testing in the past which is really helpful but expensive. They also offer ultrasounds but again expensive. I’m not sure whether to go back to the gp sooner, or to wait until the year, or just do more investigation privately. it’s hard when you feel you know there’s issues that won’t just resolve on their own? I know my oestrogen and progesterone are low and potentially thin lining, so I’m trying advice I’ve read like supplements etc and reduce stress and lose weight, my period seems to have changed so I’m wondering if it is having an effect

MyGardenDaisies · 29/10/2024 07:09

@Wondergirl1111 I am extra grateful for my baby but also found it absolutely heartbreaking when my period arrived the last 2 cycles. Especially as I had some faint lines, which must have just been evaporation.

I am a worrier type, so have thrown a lot of money at TTC so far, lots of supplements and digital ovulation tests. I’ll do an internal ultrasound and speak with my gynaecologist around 6 month mark if I’m still not pregnant.

I know that if I got pregnant this cycle, it would still be on the quicker side, so not being super hopeful but trying to be positive. It’s a hard balance

how are you finding it ?

Hello! I have been waiting for someone to make a new one 😁x

Hoping to see fellow October TTC team join too!

I will be waiting for a missed period mid-November 🤞😊
TTC baby #2, cycle #3. Baby #1 was #1 cycle.

Edited

Hi! Happy to join this group as I found it so helpful last time I was TTC!

I'm almost the same as you @MyGardenDaisies - TTC#2 - cycle#2, and BFP with baby #1 was cycle #1 too .... (How are you feeling about it taking slightly longer this time around? - I am feeling slightly humbled lol). Xx

Can I join? Ttc number 1, struggling after miscarriage. Feeling very isolated from people in real life for a number of reasons so just hoping for a safe space. Feeling very sad and anxious with it all.

Sending you lots of love xx

Hi all 👋
Can I join too? I ovulated yesterday so now in the dreaded TWW! This is cycle 4 for me and i’m 31 and no previous pregnancies. I had my mirena coil out in May but didn’t TTC for the first couple of months as we got married in August and didn’t want to be throwing up all day 😂
Good luck to you all and lots of baby dust ✨

I’m in the TWW on cycle 4 tooo! I turned 32 at the start of the month, no previous pregnancies either! It feels like a lifetime waiting and wondering what will be! Wishing you lots of luck xx

Confusedmermaid1 · 28/10/2024 22:36

@HollyGolightly4 welcome, you’re not alone! I’m feeling the same way TTC after loss and I’ve been struggling recently, almost more than I did when actually going through the MC and treatment.. fingers crossed it’s our time soon 🤍
