@Melusina123 im pleased you feel you’ve made the right choice for you.
that’s what’s important in all of this.
im currently 3dpo, i hope. Although my bbt has risen a little I’ve not seen a significant jump yet. It does sometimes take until 4/5dpo though.
we’re going out on NYE but I’m just going to play it cool, still enjoy some alcohol but not go crazy.

Melusina123 · 29/12/2024 13:15

Thanks, @Superscientist & @Ncl31 . We're back just before new year. I still think not testing at the in laws was the right call because I'm pretty sure if it's positive I'll immediately have a panic attack (and if negative immediately cry), but the waiting is harddddddd.

How is everyone else holding up over the weird Xmas-New Year time?

Hey everyone, I’ve generally resisted joining the TTC threads because they tend to send me insane, but I feel in need of a bit of company at the moment and hopefully I can also provide some to everyone else on this difficult but hopeful journey we’re all on.

My history is CP (at 4.5) in Nov 2021, MMC (at 8.1) in 2022, baby born in 2023, MMC (at 8.1 again) at end of July 2024. We found out that the MC this year was genetically abnormal, Trisomy 15. And the consultant said that the previous ones were very likely also genetic issues given timing and the fact that I had a successful pregnancy in-between. All RMC tests have come back normal, except we’re waiting for our karyotyping results.

My cycle has been very strange since the MMC and I haven’t really felt like we’ve had much of a chance in any of the cycles since, didn’t ovulate one cycle, late ovulation falling when OH was away (twice - SIGH), then two randomly very short luteal phases. All I want is to be pregnant again and hopefully finally complete our family, so it’s been a frustrating and difficult few months. I console myself with the fact that probably being a little bit older when their sibling arrives is better for our current LO, and also that I have a major thing due in April that would never have got done if I’d got pregnant before now. But it still sucks, especially as i’m 38 and have that time-not-on-my-side feeling constantly.

I’m now 14DPO (first time I’ve made it past 10DPO without spotting heralding early period in 3 months). I'm driving myself crazy because I’m at the in-laws and intentionally didn’t bring any tests with me because I didn’t want to ruin Christmas by testing early and then having to hide any reactions (positive/negative). This month felt very cursed; I never properly caught the LH peak on a dipstick, although based on other signs I know about when it happened, if it happened, and then in the last week I’ve had a cold AND a UTI simultaneously. Which has made symptom spotting tricky since I can’t tell if it’s the cold, the UTI, the luteal phase generally, or maybe pregnancy. Although no sign of period on 14DPO should be a good sign given how strange my period has been since the last MMC it feels very likely that I could just be having a randomly long LP this time.

I switched from Proceive Max + Omega-3 to Zita West Vitafem + Ubiquinol + Omega-3 this month in case the Proceive was messing up my cycle. Feels like spending inordinate amounts on premium vitamins is the only thing I can control.

Anyway, my morale is quite low so if anyone could offer a hand-hold I would accept it gratefully.

PS @Superscientist I remember you from the Due March ’24 thread, you must have had to tap out only a week or so after me? Sorry to read about your loss and the loss since. 😔

PPS sorry for the long post, I have a lot of feelings

Edited

I’m sorry that you find yourself here. But you are very welcome. Everyone on this thread is very supportive. When will you be home and be able to test?

Superscientist · 28/12/2024 13:48

@Melusina123 hi welcome to the thread, everyone has been supportive through my losses. Sorry to see you here though. Yes I lost my first pregnancy at the beginning of August at 10 weeks so not long after you.
How long do you have until you get home? I was on holiday with the in-laws when I conceived in July. It was a long 5 day wait to test!

My friend is pregnant and is asking me when I had my first midwife appointment.

I never had it. I never got there and had my pregnancy loss before I even managed to get to that stage. She knows that, but I don't think she appreciates how difficult this is for me.

It's just so hard.

I'm nearly at ovulation now and have some early detection pregnancy tests about to be delivered.

I wish all of us TTC the most luck I possibly can,

@DonnaWhat yeah it doesn’t leave you does it, so much more nervous! And I don’t blame you on the scans, any bit of reassurance you can get!

@Ella31 thank you. Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

I had my scan today (after lots of bleeding on Christmas Day, and large clots yesterday) and it was inconclusive. I have to go back in a week as I’m 5+6 and there’s a fetal pole, but no yolk sack and heartbeat. The sonographer said not to get our hopes up as they can usually see those at this stage (very little chance dates are wrong). We saw our daughter at the same gestation. I also have a hematoma which she said will be the cause of the blood and clots xx

5 weeks 6 is very early so hopefully you'll be seeing that heartbeat soon. With my late twins I actually measured a week behind and I measured a week behind initially with this baby too.

After losing my twins at birth last year no scan will ever feel reassuring so I get the worry. Thinking happy positive thoughts for you. Feel free to pm if you are anxious. I told myself last year after my sons died, if I could be of any help to anyone like people were to me, I'm on the right track xxx

Congrats @Blueskies4 and it's completely normal to be terrified. I haven't relaxed much since I got my bfp and I know i should be grateful but babies deaths does that sadly. I'll be thinking of you all the time and positive thoughts. Ive said many times here in the past. This is a new pregnancy, new baby and completely out of your control. Keep looking forward.

All the best to everyone here for 2025

Superscientist · 24/12/2024 20:09

@Blueskies4 thanks I listen to podcasts when I'm working. I'll add these to my lists. Thank you.

I'll look into prenom @Bellabubble and @DonnaWhat . Thanks, I've seen a few people say they are using it.

Thanks @CurlyWurly1991 x I hope you and your partner can come to a joint decision. It's a tricky one. We've agreed to try for a bit longer but at some point in 2025 we are likely to stop. Back to back miscarriages can really take it out of you. Hopefully you have better luck next time if you decide to try again

@Figtree11 I'm sorry and pleased your repeat test was negative. Hopefully the Metformin helps. Sending love

@Nosejug it took me some time to run sensibly. I stopped for a number of years after mis using exercise through my late teens and early 20s. I've since moved somewhere hilly and that really has limited my runs! I can do 3km before I run out of ways to avoid a big hill and not just doing running the same through roads. So most runs aren't much longer than 3km! I have a few different playlists. It took a while to play around to find the right combination. Maybe something to look at in the new year?

@worldwidetravel2017 sorry for your loss. Its a hard time of year for it. I lost a pregnancy this month too. Take your time to process and feel what you feel.

Merry Christmas to you all x

Thank you, I had a nhs hycosy in January,
my tubes were clear. I’m not sure how often they say you should have it checked?

Fantastic to hear your tubes were clear :)

Not sure re frequency of checking

But sounds hopeful

After 3 cycles of letrozole
.
My nhs consultant recommended hyfosy

NHS wait was 5 months

So we got private hyfosy very fast for 500 gbp

Sending luck

Thank you, I really appreciate your reply <3 I hope you're right! I'll be tracking things anyway so I can be aware of what the heck is going on and hopefully I'll get some semblance of normalcy soon. The fears I won't conceive again do creep in from time to time but I'm trying to tell them to get lost!

You’re welcome ☺️ Your body has shown you can get pregnant in a relatively short period of time so hopefully it will happen again for you soon. Since I’ve opened up about loss I know of a lot of people who have had miscarriages who now have children. But it’s so normal to feel worried about being able to conceive again, and worry about loss. Unfortunately having a miscarriage does rob you of optimism and innocence. But fingers crossed it’s just a matter of time for you

@marmiteontoastx i am really sorry for your loss. Easier said than done but try not to worry yet about any potential issues. Unfortunately miscarriage is so common that hopefully your loss has been incredibly bad luck. Hopefully in the next 4 months you will conceive again like you did before, and you will get your rainbow baby. Sounds like everything is in your favour with usually having regular periods. I wouldn’t worry too much about your lh levels currently, miscarriage does all sorts to our bodies & takes a while to settle down

@worldwidetravel2017 I’m just taking everything one step at the time at the moment. Going to try the metformin for a couple of months & then take it from there

@Blueskies4 congrats on the BFP. I hope you get that scan soon to put your mind at rest x

@DonnaWhat thank you ❤️. I have been a bit low, last Christmas I was sad because I’d had my first loss a few weeks before. I remember thinking that hopefully this Christmas would be different. But it’s not. But trying to stay positive and that I have a bit of an action plan now. Hope all is well with you x

@worldwidetravel2017

Thank you for your reply <3 no tests for anything yet, my pregnancy loss was medically induced so I don't think I'm on the books for anything test-wise until we've been trying for longer. I won't go into the reasons why because it's really painful for me to talk about.

Last time we conceived it took 4 months, so I'm hoping I should see something positive in the new year. I've only been pregnant the one time so am quite know for what to expect.

Before the loss my periods were incredibly regular and reliable so I always knew what to expect, but I didn't test ovulation at that point cause we were just "not trying but not preventing" because I had inner fears I was infertile. Thankfully that wasn't the case, but it's really hard knowing what to expect now! I'm hoping things will settle down soon.

You can have pcos even with regular cycles
Theres 4 types of pcos

My advice would be to be assed for pcos

I also really recommend hertility health - ive used them twice - money very well spent

Sending all the luck for the future

marmiteontoastx · 22/12/2024 13:39

@worldwidetravel2017 sorry, I forgot to say my vitamin D levels are fine and nothing else has popped up that I'm concerned about as far as I know!

Joining because I feel lonely and I like reading these threads.

Pregnancy loss was at the beginning of last month, just finished my first period since which ended up being a 40 day cycle but it was an odd one that ended up only being about 3 days long with the first day being the only day of proper period.

Tested my ovulation this cycle starting two days ago at the very end of my period and yesterday my LH was 4.11 and today it's back down to 0.08, confusing. Does anyone here know anything about surges and how they work?

I really want a positive soon. I want my rainbow baby so badly!!!!

Wishing everyone TTC luck and cheering on those who have already had BFP. I really really hope my time comes soon.

Have u been assessed for potentially having pcos ?
.multiple lh surges are common in pcos patients

So sorry to hear of your loss
Weve been there

I do regret leaving months and months between our miscarriage and private tube flush test

I do recommend potentially getting a tube flush in 4 - 6 months

Even tho we conceived last yr
( early miscarriage)
And then did 3 x letrozole cycles this summer

We eventually did tube flush privately
And both tubes were then blocked

( even tho they werent last yr )

Have u had your vit d tested? And shbg ? And have they tested on nhs how fast your blood clots ?

@Blueskies4 I'm doing OK now. I'm not going to lie I have been a nervous wreck getting to where I am today. There's one day difference between me and ella31. I'm sure me and the private scan place are on first name terms 😆 you question every single niggle, it's not nice on your mental health being pregnant after miscarriage as many of us know but make sure you keep looking after you. You know your body best and if you feel you need more reassurance make sure you reach out because it's just as scary being pregnant again. Thinking it will happen again etc. You'll have to keep us posted. Make sure plenty of rest 💓

Blueskies4 · 21/12/2024 20:10

@DonnaWhat thank you xx I think I missed your announcement on here (I was MIA on the chat for a few months this year!), congratulations!! Hope you’re doing well?

I phoned the bereavement midwife on Friday and she got back to me today with an early scan next week. Really glad they’ve got me in (I’ve been fobbed off before too previously), as I’ve been spotting and cramps so at least I’ll know where I’m at asap xx
