@HeartyPanda don't despair !!
Keep testing (I know it's such a pain!)
This was me on CD24. I was all negative until then, so maybe you will peak tonight / tomorrow or in the next couple of days ?

The dino club is growing 🥰
@Lila34830 i think your symptoms are promising 🤞🏻
@pastelpink0 you are the baby dino of the group then haha
@Nay34 hi thank you for sharing this about nutrition, yes i had made a lot of changes on my side (cutting off processed food, fries, using only avocado/olive oil, cut off margarine, no deep frying, reducing sugar intake...) i am now trying to reduce gluten but it's so damn hard. In the other hand my DH is not as committed as i am so 🤷🏻‍♀️!

Update: had 5 days of ewcm 0 positive LH tests, glad it's over now. Last night i had abdominal pain in one side,(still do) hurts when u cough, no idea what my body is trying to me and starting to be worried 😣. Honestly i dont think it can be ovulation by now cd24! Any thoughts ?

Clara202 · 07/11/2024 13:29

@Toppstileslover did your boss succeed with her own egg at 45?
I’ll be calling the GP after Christmas to refer me for tests. If something is wrong I’d better find out as soon as possible, at my dino age 😅

I'm only 28, don't kick me out of the Dino club 😂 I thought 28 was still young enough to start TTC until i started Googling a few months ago! I'm not as young as I thought I was 😂

28?! Get out of here you fraud 🤪😂

Has anyone else changed their diet at all?

I've eaten so many blueberries I'm going to start turning blue before long!

But in general I have just been eating healthier, cutting down on chocolate and such like ☹️ 🍫

My sister sent me this which I thought was a simper reference as there's so many lists out there!

Interesting! I really do need to make more changes to my diet. I'm not the worst but I could be doing more.

If anyone has any recipes or tips for a better diet/lifestyle they'd like to share, please do!

Hey @Nay34 ! I think eating varied / nutrient full food is good enough ! (And equally important ) for hormone balance !

@Toppstileslover if my father in law was a gyno I would spend my time asking him questions 🤣 !!

I know what you mean symptoms are so unreliable I am trying not to read into any of them, I never had any symptoms tbf for the last 4 cycles.
This cycle is a little bit different, I am having cramping in my back (where I get my period cramps), crying soooo much at so many things like emotional reels on social media ?! (But this can be me before period too!!!) and I had to have a lunch nap twice in the last 2 days . It's unlike me but I mean this could just mean that I'm tired. Only time will tell !

Let's hope we get more good news as we had 2bfp in this group recently !!
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

The dino mum club! 🥹 🫶🏻 🦕 🦖 🪨
We can do it ladies xx

Toppstileslover · 07/11/2024 12:17

Omg girls 34 is not dino you silly muffins. I am going to be 37 next week @Clara202 so officially in advanced age with you. My father in law is a gynae though and he says actually to 40, if you have good fertility, you are usually okay. The issue is people who don’t have good fertility don’t realise / start trying until it’s too late, then years pass and it does make things difficult. Which is why we have started the testing process early (I also had a private scan last year). Husband does need to do his sperm test though as anatomically I look okay. Can’t imagine him doing one 😂 Hard to know egg quality + ovulation without further tests though which is a big thing.

my old boss was having IVF at 45 with a sperm donor and had a baby so there’s hope for us all!

anyway!

@Lila34830 last month I felt like I had loads of symptoms and had the 5 day late period. This month I have no symptoms (apart from being upset on Monday but that was life!)

AF due in 5 days so at least my window of waiting is coming to a close. Usually it’s clock work on the 10th but think later cos of the previously late period!

Hi all, I’d love to join! Have been following the thread as we had just decided to start trying, but the timing wasn’t right for last month. Now finished wk 1 of cycle.
I am also just about to turn 36, and very new to the wonderful world of TTC. It’s funny to feel simultaneously old and clueless!

Hi welcome 👋
I'm relatively new on this thread as well.
Hope your journey goes well and doesn't take too long but I'm sure we'll all be here to support you for as long as needed!

Ditto @pastelpink0 , hopefully the Dino club will turn Into a Dino mum club at some point ! 🤞🏼

So here for the dino mum club someday soon 🪨🤞🦕🦖

Itstime2023 · 07/11/2024 11:24

AF is due tomorrow, I'm feeling cramping so might be out for this cycle.
I don't mind, what will be will be.
Let's see though.

Morning ladies! I don't have much to say this morning other than, I've been reading back through the posts from the past couple of days and I just love what a helpful and welcoming space we have here to chat and ask questions without judgement.
Long live the dino club 🦕

@ThisOchreTiger if the mira stuff are still too expensive on sale, you can get 50 pre mom ovulation sticks (that you dip in urine) for I think £15 !

ThisOchreTiger · 07/11/2024 08:47

Thanks for all the info @KT199 and @Lila34830 . It is very helpful and doesn't come across as condescending. This is all new to me - I naively thought you could get pregnant at any time during the month until quite recently!!

My friend said the Mira was fantastic, though the sticks are so expensive. My plan is just to DTD as much as possible over the next fortnight and learn more about tracking in the meantime - if nothing happens this month I'll maybe look for some Black Friday Mira sales!

Good luck today everyone, fingers crossed for you all and looking forward to updates!

All the nervous waiting must be so exhausting! How long to you have to wait before testing?

thanks for the welcome @Lila34830 @Gemmaemilyx @KT199 @Heartypandaa . The 🦖 seems like a very supportive club!! I like the vibes here.

Ive been using the ClearBlue 2 most fertile days LH sticks, just once a day in the morning, along with the flo app. Right now I’m day 8 DPO and the app is predicting my best chances start tomorrow, with ovulation on day 13. I’ve never used the sticks before this month.

A friend who had a tough journey of her own very kindly gave me 2 monitors (clearblue and mira) but I haven’t tried either as the refill tests are expensive!! Any experience with either brand here?

According to the clearblue app we can test tomorrow but that seems really early. Might wait until Monday (AF due the Thursday)

Lila34830 · 07/11/2024 08:34

Looks like @KT199 and I responded at the same time @ThisOchreTiger , I'm sure all the combined infos will help.
Regarding testing, if your egg was fertilised it would take about 6-10 days to implant in the womb. It only starts releasing HCG then. So any test before 6 (even sometimes before 10 dpo) would be negative. Some brave women only test once period is late, but you'll find that it's very hard to wait until then 😅 I guess a result would be accurate from 10/12 dpo. Definite after missed period x

I haven’t used the advanced monitors no! I did look at the mira, but it’s very expensive. I thought if I was still on this journey at month 7/8 I may purchase, but also the refills each month are sooo expensive too so I’m unsure!

I use the CB advanced ovu which gives a flashing smiley, then static.. not sure if it’s worth the money.. it’s meant to be good as it indicates the opening of your fertile window as detects oestrogen rise, followed by giving the static smiley once your LH rises like the one your using. I use the OPK strips alongside it once I get flashing as I test it least twice a day (usually around CD10/11) to make sure I catch my LH surge as I may miss it without as I have had a few shorter surges less than 24hrs!

Lila34830 · 07/11/2024 08:31

@ThisOchreTiger it's a great club ! 🦖

Regarding the LH strips, it's recommended to test from a few days after your period, until you get a peak (test line as dark or darker than control line, anything less dark isn't a peak). and you should test morning and evening because a peak can happen so quickly you sometimes can miss it ! (I know it's tedious). I wouldn't trust your app without any ovulation tests (sorry idk about mira !) because an app only bases itself on " typical cycle". The strips test your level of LH. This is the hormone sent to the brain to release the egg. When the LH is very high (peak) it means the signal was sent to the brain and the egg is released within 36 hours.
I know that the girls also use temping (@KT199 will be great at explaining as I haven't done temping yet!) to confirm ovulation too.
You app can be great if you combine it with more " science based" methods and input the results in.
By the way I don't know how much you know so if it comes across patronising and you already knew all this I'm so sorrry !! 😅
