@slothbat for sure, I have to take breaks some months as I get obsessed and it affects me. When you're so invested it can get disheartening. One thing that makes it so much worse is testing early and scrutinizing lines, but when the time comes curiousity just gets the better of me. How long have you been ttc?

slothbat · 15/10/2024 09:29

@Plumchumm don't you find all this so stressful 😂😂 part of me wants to sack it off DTD as often as possible and see what happens 😂😂

Plumchumm · 15/10/2024 09:17

@slothbat I think it varies each month. I used to get gradual, and sometimes it fluctuates up and down, and sometimes it's just light the whole time except for my peak. Really odd! I tend to ignore it unless I have a clear peak.

slothbat · 15/10/2024 09:07

@Plumchumm ah ok yeah I tend to test twice a day until I get a peak but last month they slowly increased xx

Plumchumm · 15/10/2024 09:06

slothbat · 15/10/2024 09:03

Morning all! Can I ask your advice?! I know these are both negative but why was yesterdays higher than today? Do you think it's the time of day I've done them?

Time of day, how much you've had to drink, and LH itself fluctuates as well. I personally fluctuate until I actually get my surge, whereas others may have a gradual increase up until that point.

@Frenchtoastie cycle buddies ! 👋🏽☺️

Welcome to the new girls !

I think we will start Sperm meet egg method by Christmas if the two next cycles fail but honestly I'd rather avoid that knowing how regimented and tedious it is 😅

Hi all !
I am 32 TTC after a MMC in August at 8 weeks. Been trying since February.
Hoping this will be a lucky group for everyone :)
CD6 for me and normally ovulate around day 22

Plumchumm · 15/10/2024 06:20

littlebluu · 15/10/2024 03:47

I read somewhere that you start DTD every other day from like CD8 and then when you notice a peak in LH you go for like 3 days in a row or something. I think that was the SME method tho and it just seems so regimented 😅

We just tried to do it every other day from like CD10 and then the day before/and of ovulation.
So romantic 🙈
Our DTD cycle starts tomorrow idk if I have the energy 😅😅😅

Trying to pretend you're just doing it for fun is the worst part. Whole time I'm just waiting for the goods. 😂

Oops then we also DTD every other day! It is such a chore but gotta do it 😊😊😊

Toppstileslover · 14/10/2024 22:00

AF arrived today! 5 days late which is the first time in the history of my memory, plus my Flo app was going mental with early pregnancy which isn’t helpful.

we shall go again this month! Personally I found using the Flo app and then the CB ovulation sticks with the smiley faces super easy this month. They’re a bit more expensive.

This will be our second proper month of trying

BloodMoonDiana · 14/10/2024 21:31

Hello, can I join please? Very early days for me. Came off my pill not even a month ago and I'm still waiting on my first period to even remotely track anything. Have started ovulation tests, but didn't really peak, only went a bit high and dropped again

Frenchtoastie · 14/10/2024 21:24

KT199 · 14/10/2024 19:34

How often / when do people actually tend to DTD around ovulation? I worry we start too soon and then by time ovulation is actually close there’s nothing left for my OH to give 🤣

This made me laugh! We felt the same last cycle, it became a chore because I said let’s do it every day and twice a day on ovulation. Well it didn’t work so I think less is more 😂

Hey girls, 7dpo over here, nothing to really report appart from the wait for ovulation (before we dive into the 2 WW!).
We plan on DTD every other day from when my LH starts rising as I think last cycle we didn't DTD enough 🧐

We are so close in dates! I am CD 8!
just did a ovulation test it’s totally negative, trying to feel hopeful but wishing the days away!! I think every other day sounds good!!

That’s what me and my OH have literally just done. 2 days before ovulation we dtd twice. 1 day before we dtd once. My day of ovulation tomorrow we won’t have anything left to give. 😂 I hope it’s enough

@Plumchumm @KT199 thanks girls 💛

KT199 · 14/10/2024 11:47

@Gemmaemilyx sorry to hear about your CP ☹️ can’t imagine how disheartening that is. Hope your cycle isn’t too affected and you can get back to TTC quickly!

@pastelpink0 sorry AF arrived, onto the next cycle! Fingers crossed this is a lucky month!

Hi girls! I’m totally new to the ttc game and bought my first pack of ovulation tests today but am not really sure when to use them?? I have read through a lot of the threads but get a bit confused about the abbreviations and am embarrassed to ask as I should know this stuff?! Can anyone help advise what to do for the best chances? Wishing you all the best of luck in your journeys, it’s such a supportive feed and I have loved reading through it all xx

Wellllcome!!

I hope the other messages have made it clear for you, but if you have any other questions fire away and we will answer the best we can 🫶

Plumchumm · 14/10/2024 09:18

Ladies I think I caught my surge! does this mean I’ll ovulate tomorrow?

Hello & Welcome ☺️

Youll typically ovulate 24-48 hrs after your first positive LH test. Once you’ve found “peak” I think it’s roughly 12-24 hours from that point. But I’ve read conflicting info.. there’s no exact time frame that can be put on it. As soon as you start to see a positive LH test it’s time to start having sex. Ideally you would have also had sex in the days leading up to this also, but if not it’s fine as your peak day is considered your most fertile. Good luck, hope you get a BFP 😊

Hi just while we're chatting about testing.
I can see some of you have been testing in the morning?
I've been waiting until after 2pm and now I'm wondering if I've plucked that number out of thin air haha.
Would you recommend morning an evening?

Hey girl ! I tested morning only until I see that it's rising a bit and I get closer to my fertility week, then I do morning and evening !

Thank you so much @Lila34830 and @Plumchumm that is so helpful!! I have been using Flo to track my periods but will definitely download premom too. We are meant to be being very laid back and not putting pressure on ourselves but I’ve become totally obsessed and just want this so much. Hopefully this will help me stay on track. Thank you again, I so appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me!
