Multiple faint positives

I tested on Tues and got a faint positive, next day it was -ive. I have tested again on Fri and Sun and again this eve and they are all faint +ives but dont really seem to be getting stronger. Do you think this is odd or a problem???

Have no ebay cheapies left, now if i had i would have got dh to do one

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 17:29

I thought the digi ones are now 25 not 50, its says on the box test 4 days before period is due.

The tesco ones are 25 as is the CB normal, at the end of the day a test is a test is it not, so if i was pg it would show up no matter what brand i use, and i would have thought they would be stronger today.

Still no show of AF, loads of CM (sorry!) keep thinking i have come on and when i get to the loo its just cm , so now 2/3 days late and no bright pos test, i don't think i am now.

Squackycake · 23/04/2008 17:25

Hmm if you tested on Mon with ebay cheeps (10miu) and got faint positives then today you would expect to have double the hcg in your urine.
So testing with fmu would result in a positive test using a test measuring less than 20.
The digi ones measure 50miu so that could explain why tht is negative.
The tesco's ones measure 25 miu which could also explain the negative.
I think at this point I see 2 options:

  1. Wait four days and if no period test again. You will undoubetdly have enough hcg in your urine then.
  1. Test with ebay cheeps again if you have any. Test one test with urine and a second with just water (control), see what results you get. This should clear up whether it's the batch of tests you have and also should give you more than a very faint at this far past your period.

The CB tests at 25miu I think which may also explain why it's so faint.

hth

Blardy hell woman, go and get a FR!!!

Tesco's are also well known for being less sensitive than many others.

FR FR FR FR FR FR!!!!!

Use tomorrow's FMU, and get an answer (unless you are like me and don't get BFP's till you are 9 days late.....!)

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 17:15

Hey there NJ, I don't know, have just done a tesco own make one (my friend had one) and that was negative.

God knows.

NatalieJane · 23/04/2008 16:58

I can see a cross on both of the CB tests.

And I hate to say I told you so, but I did warn you that the CBD would come up not pregnant.

I think with the number of faint positives you have had (and whether or not we can see them is pretty irrelavent, it is if you can see them) I'd be inclined to think that you are pregnant, you just have to be cautious not to get too excited.

But you know your own body, you had the feeling you were pregnant, wayyyyy before you were even due on, couple that with the fact that your period is normally like clock work and that you still feel pregnant, I think there is only one answer!

Don't forget as well, it is very easy for someone who is actively TTC to get symptom after symptom, not so easy for someone who hadn't been trying.

belgo · 23/04/2008 10:13

yes it could be due to different contrasts on the monitor screens.

Keep us updated!

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 10:07

Ok, will see what happens and will post with the outcome.

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 10:05

Well we must all have different monitors, because a number of people have said they can see it on here, more people have said yes they can, there is only a couple who have said no nothing....

I find that a bit odd in itself really, not arsed really as i have said its not like i have been TTC, and i am not sure how i feel about the prospect of being pg anyway.

Dropdeadfred · 23/04/2008 10:04

digi one say pregnant or not pregnant if th test works..if you didn't dip long enough the test would ome up with an error message - sorry

belgo · 23/04/2008 09:52

sorry also can't see it on my computer screen.

I would wait another couple of days

Yes normally very regular, was due on either Sun or Mon, this is seriously doing my head in now, i feel sick and everything, and had loads of cramps which i normally only get once i am bleeding iykwim.

I am just going to forget about it now, wait until i am a week late then buy 1 more test, so annoyed at myself for this with the digi.

I have added another pic of the CB from yesterday, one from further away and i must be hallucinating as i can def see a cross on that one.

God, i am such an idiot, the digi came this morn and having only just woke up i cocked up the test

Instead of putting the test in the sample for 20 secs like it said for dipping in a cup i read the holding it in you urine stream bit and only did it for 5 seconds der! so got a not pregnant and not sure if to believe the result or not as i didn't hold it in the sample long enough.

Think i am just meant to not know

sureitsno3 · 22/04/2008 23:50

Cherubtastic....Oh no sorry af got you. I thought i was going to start af earlier as had loads of crampy pains, but nothing yet.

Take care, and wear your dh out this month so you get BFP next month

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 21:27

Eeek - BFP for you I meant - I'm not in the market for any more dcs

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 21:27

Oh dear - well here's hoping for a nice straightforward cycle and a massive BFP next month!

cherubtastic · 22/04/2008 20:59

Well those FR are going to have to wait for another month. It looks like I may have had a CP afterall as have just started bleeding. Nothing heavy like the usual start of af but there all the same

Will probably have this same old conversation again next month

Thanks for all of your replies lovely ladies and putting up with my obssessing. Good luck with your pregnancy SIN3 - Let us know how it goes on Friday

Lol, to be honest everyone says different things about different tests.

Personally for me, with my dd i got a big bright pos on a normal CB, and with my ds i did cheapie ones and they showed a very faint line, got a tesco own brand and came up nice and bright.

Thats was my first encounter with FR so i dunno really, but it didn't show up at all for me, yet the CB did....odd

cherubtastic · 22/04/2008 19:56

Strange how the FR is the only one that doesnt show up - maybe theyre not that good after all
