Multiple faint positives

I tested on Tues and got a faint positive, next day it was -ive. I have tested again on Fri and Sun and again this eve and they are all faint +ives but dont really seem to be getting stronger. Do you think this is odd or a problem???

LOL

Nope I am just your average MN stalker

I love the Am I/Aren't I threads, except when I am the OP!!

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 14:16

Thanks NJ, for being here to get me through this madness and for coming back to the thread, you have been lovely.

NatalieJane · 24/04/2008 14:14

I know what you mean, had a similar experience back in January it ended in MC though, well in fact it didn't end in MC, it ended in us deciding to TTC for DC3!!

Hopefully you will know one way or another by the end of the week

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 14:04

NJ...I am pretty chilled now, got a bit mad for a while there, as i have said i am not TTC and not sure how i feel if i am tbh, its not that i desperately want to be pg, its just not having an answer so i can sort how i feel out.

NatalieJane · 24/04/2008 13:50

The faint positives that you have had weren't wrong. They have to detect that certain amount of HCG to show a positive, false positives (other than with certain cancers and fertility treatments) just don't exist.

I was convinced I couldn't be pregnant with DS2 when I was a week late and still getting BFN's, but I most definately was!

I think you need to cautiously think of yourself as being pregnant, beg/borrow/steal a HPT (I can send you a couple of eBay cheapies if you want it?) and do it in a couple of days time. The main thing you have to do is try to relax a bit, if you are pregnant (which I think is an almost certainty) then the stress really won't do any good, and if your not pregnant, then it will only delay things even more.

How easy is it for me to sit here telling you to relax?!! I know I would (and have been!) as stressed about it all as you are now, but do try to find something that will take your mind off of it for a while, read a book, get a good DVD on, eat copious amounts of chocolate, anything that will make you feel good, if only for half an hour.

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 13:24

Yes pics are the same test.

I am skint now so can't really afford to buy a CB and it bugs me paying that much money to pee on lol.

Squackycake · 24/04/2008 13:21

I think if I was in your shoes then I would get another cb, test tomorrow with fmu, it should be more positive than the last one. If it isn't I think I would go and see the GP.

Are the cb pics on your profile of the same test?

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 13:09

I did a tesco own make test yesterday and it was neg.

If i wasn't feeling so queasy and didn't have loads of cm i would say no i am not pregnant.

Plus as said before, CB are pretty reliable, plus i had the faints on the test strips surely they can't all be wrong?, but it would have been cd 18 or cd 20 that i got pregnant so even though i have missed my period it is still quite early i guess.

Squackycake · 24/04/2008 13:05

Have you tested again with fmu?

Was wed the faint cb test, or was that tuesday? If it was tuesday then your levels should have doubled today & in theory you should see a stronger result if you are pg.

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 13:02

I just don't get why i wouldn't get a strong pos by now, as my AF was due on Monday. What is going on!!

Squackycake · 24/04/2008 12:44

Oh well as long as he knows I'm sure you'll be fine lol

No news is good news tho

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 12:43

God knows, haven't got a clue lol.

Squackycake · 24/04/2008 12:19

What's the plan then Sure?

sureitsno3 · 24/04/2008 12:08

Hey NJ,

No nothing, no AF.

NatalieJane · 24/04/2008 09:41

Anything today?

Mum1369 · 23/04/2008 22:08

Looks like a positive to me, mine looked like that about 4 days before my period was due (he's now nearly 3..)

OracleInaCoracle · 23/04/2008 22:00

STOP TESTING! you will not get a different result from testing with different HPTs or at different points in the day. if you are 12dpo then (if you are pg) it is probably too early. (i see a line too tho...)

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 21:55

The cheap test sticks i did on Sat which were 10miu, then i did a CB yesterday and got the faint cross that was 25miu. Did tesco own make today about 4pm ish and got a neg.

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 21:52

The CB on my profile i did yesterday afternoon, i had resigned myself to the fact i wasn;t today but then tonight i am feeling queasier than ever, and have absolutely loads of CM.

Squackycake · 23/04/2008 21:47

If you are, say, 12dpo now and tested positive 2 days ago, but negative now, then there is a possibility it could be a cp.

I had this happen last month, tested at 10dpo faint positive (but definitely there), then 12dpo tested negative (cb) with my period arriving later that day.

I hope that's not the case with you though.

If you haven't had your period by Monday I think I would go to the GP and ask for blood test which will let you know one way or another.

NatalieJane · 23/04/2008 17:55

He's a bloke, what does he know?

I have mentioned, I was 9 days late by the time I got a BFP with DS2, and he was fine, it really isn't that unusual.

I must go and get tea on, but seriously, I think you have to be pregnant, and I think it will only be a matter of bastard time before your tests will show it!

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 17:51

I contacted the company that sells the cheapie ones and asked that very same question, and he said no way, that the level would have to be 10 for a faint line to appear.

Don't think i will bother my GP yet, not much point, like i said a test is a test, and i should be showing a pos by now.

I do have another tesco test, so will wait until Sun/Mon and test then, all this test buying has skinted me

Another thing i was thinking of was i had sex twice, and worked it out, it was day 18 and 20, so going off that i am either 12 dpo or 10 dpo. (i concieved my ds on day 19 of my cycle) so this seems to be my fertile time.

No AF though = a bit weird, plus the CB.

NatalieJane · 23/04/2008 17:49

See here for a better explanation

NatalieJane · 23/04/2008 17:43

I was reading on POAS.co.uk yesterday or the day before, that the test's have to be able to read at least what it sayd they can, so if you buy a multi pack of 2 tests and (for example) if the box says it can read 50miu it doesn't mean that every test in that box will read at 49miu, some can be very very varied, the example they gave were FR, in a lab test one of the FR test's were found to give a BFP at 4.5miu

Most women do always have a certain level of HCG in their system, any thing over 5 is considered to be pregnant, so if it was going off the cheap 10miu ebay's tests, then a feasable argument would be that if a FR can read HCG at such a low amount, then so could the 10miu ones, and that what they are picking up and showing as a BFP is in actual fact the HCG that occurs naturally in our bodies.

BUT, and it is a big BUT, I can clearly see two BFP's on CB tests on your profile, CB's IIRC are stated as 25miu? Which means you are either pregnant, or have a very very high 'natural' level of HCG for whatever reason, which I think is very un-common.

Is it worth going to your GP, asking for bloods?

sureitsno3 · 23/04/2008 17:31

Sorry i keep thinking of more to say....

The only odd one really is the CB yesterday
