Hey everyone moving over from the ttc sept 2024 thread. Very light start to period today. Expect to start tomorrow with negative pregancy tests. Thought id dip my toes in and start a wee thread.

Little bit about me. Im 35 years (soon to be 36 in oct...a birthday bfp would be lovely) been ttc since jan this year. This will now be cycle 10 for me. I have a 8 year old daughter with my ex and had to have ivf/icsi to have her due to his low sperm count. My new partner and i have been together now 2 and a half year and would love to extend our family.

So far i have had day 21 bloods which confirmed that i am ovulating and waiting to hear back regarding his SA results.

Please feel welcome in joining this thread and sending postive pregnancy vibes to all 😍

AF has arrived early for me. Should be ovulating again towards the end of next week 🤞Good luck everyone!

beartie · 14/10/2024 18:26

How's everyone doing? I'm still getting flashy smiley faces (3 days of it) on clear blue ovulation so guessing I haven't ovulated yet but hopefully will in the next couple of days. Already dreading the TWW!

han311 · 14/10/2024 17:47

@rebecca199 oh no!! I'm so sorry 😔

HNM · 14/10/2024 17:16

@rebecca199 So sorry to hear this - that is absolutely horrible for you Xx

LS888 · 14/10/2024 16:41

@rebecca199 so sorry to hear about your redundancy. That’s really rubbish. 😢

rebecca199 · 14/10/2024 16:13

Well my TTC journey is being put on hold - just found out I'm being made redundant :( honestly devistated all i want is to be pregnant again after our loss last month!

I agree that @JKDcot should take another test to be sure. A pink dye one. Like I said I am not saying she is definitely not pregnant. But that test cannot be relied on. At 7dpo when she first took it was very early, and the test line was broken and thin. Which is an unclear result. I am not saying this to be cruel. I cannot tell you how many tests I have had look like that over the years and was devastated when it turned out I wasn't pregnant. I truly believe they should be taken off the shelves. Obviously she may very well still be pregnant, but I just think another test should be taken. Not a clearblue. But also if someone wants to believe they are pregnant based on symptoms alone and not retest that is also totally their choice. I honestly just want to try and save people heartache in the long run.

I tested about 4 times a day when I was pregnant with my first 🤣🤣 I don’t know how people only test once I need the willpower! but I agree, I think that looks like an evap too. You’re definitely not being cruel xx

I don’t think I ovulated like I thought🙄🙄 think I need to wait for my period rather than hope to catch my first pp ovulation!

HNM · 14/10/2024 13:23

Thank you for reassuring me, I'll just have to wait and see I think. When I found out I was pregnant last time it was by accident using an ovulation test and then all of a sudden had smell aversions on the same day! This time I feel like I'm overthinking everything and am feeling much more aware of the situation Xx

LS888 · 14/10/2024 12:48

It’s so hard to stay positive when the negative tests appear but stay strong, it will happen. Nice to have company during the waiting game!

I went to boots today and picked up a CB digital. I have one frer here already from a previous pregnancy and have some cheapies. So won’t use the digital until I’m 14 dpo unless my period comes before then.

I am feeling slightly nauseous but not sure if it’s in my head at this point. We shall see!

han311 · 14/10/2024 12:17

@Sabina93 and thank you for your positive vibes! Right back at you 🤗

han311 · 14/10/2024 12:17

@Sabina93 when I found out with my daughter it was on a cheap strip test from Tesco the day AF was due. It was faint so I went to I think boots? And got a pack of 2 frer and did one and it confirmed. I don't think I've seen frer anywhere since, defo not in my boots when I went last week and not in Tesco. Hmmm. I will update when I test again

Sabina93 · 14/10/2024 12:13

@han311 keep me updated when you do another test. Hopefully it's gonna be BFP 🙏

I think that when I was ttc my #2 I've ordered the first response from amazon. But I also had faint line on other tests that I took. Frer just confirmed it but I took a digital one anyway 😀

han311 · 14/10/2024 11:30

@Sabina93 also I don't know where sells frer these days, I haven't seen them in shops for years. Do they have to be ordered online?

han311 · 14/10/2024 11:29

@Sabina93 thank you lovely. Yes you're right, I could be off with dates. I will remain cautiously optimistic but just don't feel like it's going to happen, esp as symptoms feel like they've tapered off today too. I usually don't have any symptoms before AF so how I feel today is quite normal. I think I will do one more on weds and then if that's negative just see if AF shows on Friday x

Sabina93 · 14/10/2024 11:13

@han311 oh im sorry and I know that feeling but because you were not tracking your ovulation you might be like only 7dpo or something like that and even at 10dpo you still can get bfn but then still end up with BFP a few days later. Will you try tonight or wait until morning? Maybe try frer?

Sabina93 · 14/10/2024 11:10

@papersheet yes I know you didn't mean it in a bad way. It was not on my mind but I was just trying to say not to stress to much about it and just take another test to see if there is a faint line. 😊

@CoolSummer89 haha exactly 2 days would be enough. 10 dpo is still early. I got bfp at 10 dpo but it was very very very faint line. So you'll se tomorrow. Wish you luck 😊

@Pricklypickles maybe because you think you're out its gonna be opposite. I also thought im out and with e ery test i was taking I was like "i know its going to be negative again", but I've got positive so you never know 😊

han311 · 14/10/2024 11:00

@Sabina93 I think I'm 10-11dpo but I just went by my body's signs so I could be off. I have already been testing 😱 had another BFN this morning on a CB early with fmu. Feel like I'm out of the game although I know it might still be too early. When the test says it should be 96% accurate today, it's so disheartening. How about you?

Pricklypickles · 14/10/2024 10:01

I'm 8dpo today. CD24. Period due 18th / 19th. Feeling oddly calm , I think I've got it into my head that this month isn't going to be our lucky month - just have a feeling we'll be trying again next cycle.

Feeling totally normal at the moment except typical PMS - hungry, craving junk food and my boobs seem massive but that's not unusual at this point in my cycle!

CoolSummer89 · 14/10/2024 09:21

Eeee it’s such a tense time isn’t it. Why does it have to be a two week wait! A two day wait would be bad enough 😅
i am 10dpo and BFN this morning. Losing a bit of hope but boobs still sore and had some crazy dreams. But think I am just looking into things tbh.
best of luck and sanity to everyone

LS888 · 14/10/2024 09:01

@JKDcot i think I knew with my last pregnancy that I was positive before the test. I had the same nauseating feeling. Told my husband to bring tests back on his way home from work. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

PaperSheet · 14/10/2024 08:56

Sabina93 · 14/10/2024 08:34

@JKDcot when are you planning on testing again? It's never safe to say if it's an evap or not because it might look like an evap but then you actually are pregnant and it was only the faint line for you. So to be sure I'd just take another test. Fingers crossed 🤞

@hnm I also think it's too early to show positive. I'd test again in the couple of days. But if it was me I'd be testing everyday like crazy 😀

@han311 Good morning, yes that would be great 😊 so how many days dpo are you and when are you planning to test? I should start testing next week but i think i will test this week anyway 😀

JKDcot · 13/10/2024 23:49

Thanks for the advice. I am lying in bed with nausea which feels exactly like I had with DC1 so I don’t even feel the need to take another test. Will just have to wait for a scan to see if it’s viable

PaperSheet · 13/10/2024 23:45

JKDcot · 12/10/2024 12:33

Left it a few more minutes and it’s now like this

Sadly I think that's an evap. It's too thin and the first picture looks broken. I wouldn't take that as a positive result. Use a pink dye test instead. You could still be pregnant but I just wouldn't trust that as a positive result. I have had many tests look like that in the past and was not pregnant. I won't use them again. Even the EPU at my local hospital told me not to use them due to people interpreting them as positive when they aren't and they cause a lot of heartbreak.
