Hey everyone moving over from the ttc sept 2024 thread. Very light start to period today. Expect to start tomorrow with negative pregancy tests. Thought id dip my toes in and start a wee thread.

Little bit about me. Im 35 years (soon to be 36 in oct...a birthday bfp would be lovely) been ttc since jan this year. This will now be cycle 10 for me. I have a 8 year old daughter with my ex and had to have ivf/icsi to have her due to his low sperm count. My new partner and i have been together now 2 and a half year and would love to extend our family.

So far i have had day 21 bloods which confirmed that i am ovulating and waiting to hear back regarding his SA results.

Please feel welcome in joining this thread and sending postive pregnancy vibes to all 😍

I posted a couple months ago, officially started trying now, which honestly is amazing because as cheesy as it is it was my christmas wish.
With my first DD I was off the pill 8 months and we had a BFP after 2months ttc.
Different partner now, and I'm only 1 month after getting copper coil out.
But I'm due to ovulate over new year.
I'm excited.

Tadpolecat · 25/10/2024 20:36

Not advice but you're similar to me @OriginalHoolaHoops I'm 7DPO today, due AF on the 1st! I've been feeling twinges but I did last month, so I'm trying not to symptom spot! When I was pregnant with my son I felt nothing and was convinced it would be negative😅

OriginalHoolaHoops · 25/10/2024 18:38

Hello, popping in late in the game this month.
Currently on cycle 4 after ten years on the pill.
My cycles have been all over the place, last month was 24 days and this month ovulated on/around day 12 (so shaping up to be similar again for, period due Nov1).
I’m 8dpo and have experienced random sharp cramps (unusual for me) and, maybe tmi, I’ve been constipated for a few days and I never have this issue before.
Anyone experienced anything like this before a BFP? I’m technically 6 days from my expected AF tomorrow so was thinking about taking an early detection test but I’m scared of the disappointment.
Does anyone have any advice or thoughts? 😭

Shellbells44 · 24/10/2024 06:13

To those who are around the 1 year mark, I hope it’s just the case that you’re not part of the statistic of 70% who fall pregnant within the first year, and you will become part of the 90% that fall pregnant within the second year 🤞🏻 took us 18 months to conceive our second which we sadly lost at 20 weeks. I do think it was the case that we were just one of those couples who conceived as part of the 90%!

massive congratulations on those BFP! We are now TTC for November xxx

Nicola1988 · 23/10/2024 22:17

Just catching up. Congratulations to all the bfps this month. So sorry for those moving on to next cycle xxx thats really good good news about ur partners SA @CoolSummer89 similar to me. Nothing really found. Moving on to my 11th cycle ttc xx

@HighSir Congratulations, how exciting! Try not to stress and take care of yourself Xx

HNM · 23/10/2024 20:39

@CoolSummer89 Gosh, I'm really glad to hear that the sperm analysis was ok! I'll keep everything crossed that you get your answers soon. TTC is so exhausting, mentally and physically Xx

CoolSummer89 · 23/10/2024 19:22

Hi all, congrats to those getting BFPs.
just an update on my situation as I know a few of us have been on the TTC forums for some time.
we suspected that my husband might have a low sperm count because he had an undescended testicle that wasn’t corrected until he reached puberty (nowadays they correct when you’re a baby because it’s known to cause fertility issues later in life). We had to wait 5 months for semen analysis on NHS.
he got his results this week and he is all in normal parameters. They are slightly below average but nothing to be super worried about. So currently our situation is unexplained, we are at 12 cycles without success. I have an appointment with my GP this week, so while I am confused, I am feeling optimistic that we’ll get some help!

best of luck to everyone, whether that is future cycles or current pregnancies 😊

HighSir · 23/10/2024 19:02

@CoolSummer89 thank you. I'm 12dpo. Didn't find out with my first til 9 weeks and she's 8 now, regretting my choice to test so early, the next 8/9 weeks are going to take forever!

I cracked a tested again with an early detection clear blue on Monday, it was BFP. Very excited but also serious anxiety due to it still being so early. Good luck to everyone else wishing for their BFPs thus month 💜

Congrats! How many dpo are you?

(edit, correcting an autocorrect)

Currently playing a fun game of is this a placebo, pregnancy or PMS? Still trying to hold off testing

han311 · 22/10/2024 20:43

@Mrscmay17 no I don't have any tests left. I'm at a total loss, have no symptoms either way. Feel like my body has broken lol, oh well. Sending you good luck x

Hi everyone. Well I'm now on cd33, AF is officially 2 days late according to Flo app, 3 days late according to me. And CB decides to hit me with this this morning! I tested a week ago and on Friday (AF due date) and both were stark negative as negative can be. Why is my body (and clear blue) taunting me 😫 feeling very down in the dumps x

Aw that's super annoying isn't it !! Have u tested again today ? I'm feeling low too af due tomorrow & have all the symptoms.

@Readysetgooo oh fingers crossed your body will adjust much quicker than mine in that case 🤞 but things definitely don’t seem to happen the way you think they will 😅 100% i’ve been analysing everything! On my first month TTC I had the same sickness that you had and was having hot flushes and heartburn and was convinced I was pregnant. But it must have just been me overthinking things 😅 i’ve been tracking my ovulation and periods since coming off the coil which has helped me find a bit of a pattern but each month my PMS symptoms seem different which doesn’t help 🤦🏼‍♀️

Readysetgooo · 21/10/2024 20:36

@Kateb149 I had a copper coil so in theory shouldn't need time to settle down although after I had it removed to TTC my son, AF was late and it feels like the same is happening now. The body does strange things doesn't it? Even before we decided to TTC again, I think I've been questioning my age, hormones, birth injury from a C-section! When you're TTC you're so switched on to the smallest things as well.

Kateb149 · 21/10/2024 19:57

@Readysetgooo welcome to the page! I had my coil out back in May but only started properly TTC in July. I’ve found that my periods are still much lighter than they were before so not sure if my body/hormones are still settling or because i’m older 😅 good luck in your TTC journey and hopefully we both get a BFP soon 🤞 i’m CD8 today

Confusedmermaid1 · 21/10/2024 18:06

@HNM thank you, waited for my first period following the loss which was first week Aug so only had 3 cycles since which I understand isn’t that long really but been TTC since Jan with a chemical in March so it just feeling down about it recently

Aug was a 26 day cycle then 25 in Sept and 21 this month.. makes no sense to me 😅 Wondering whether I even ovulated this month because my LH was lower than usual according to the easy@ home tests..

Feels like you need to do a course to understand what is going on some times 😅

It’s hard to stay hopeful with any kind of bleeding isn’t it but fingers crossed for you

HNM · 21/10/2024 17:45

@Confusedmermaid1 It feels like a game doesn't it... Have you been trying since July? Sorry to hear about your MMC, sending love. I feel like AF is going to appear at any moment. I'm still getting very strong ovulation tests but I've also had a tiny bit more brown discharge for the third day in a row so I'm not feeling hopeful Xx

Confusedmermaid1 · 21/10/2024 14:07

So my period has started today properly now which means I only had a 21 day cycle this month and the spotting started at 7dpo.

My cycles have been all over the place. Had a MMC in July so not sure if GP would even do any further testing re my short cycles or if they’ll just say it’s still regulating following MC? If anyone has any experience of speaking to GP re this please let me know.. at the moment it’s showing an average cycle of 24 days but my ‘normal’ is 27 days

Honestly I feel so defeated by it all at the moment..

@HNM fingers crossed you have a more positive outcome than me!

HNM · 20/10/2024 16:44

@Pipersgirl Good luck for when you start trying again Xx

Readysetgooo · 20/10/2024 16:37

Hi all. Coming to the thread late this month. Had my coil taken out a week ago ready to TTC #2. Friday night started feeling nauseous then being sick yesterday and, as much as my sensible head knew pregnancy was unlikely having not DTD since before it was removed, part of me thought I was pregnant (by some miracle) since warnings on the clinic website etc say there's a risk of pregnancy. Awful nausea and gas was the first symptom I had with DC1 at 7DPO so got there in my head quite quickly. Pregnancy test negative and it's likely just a bug. Part of me slightly relieved because if that was the nausea pre-BFP it didn't bode well for the rest of the first trimester. DH a bit disappointed though - don't like to see him sad but he's been very reserved on his TTC #2 feelings (letting me decide when I'm ready, balancing pros and cons re work, childcare etc) so comforting that he's excited for another. Now looking forward to next cycle starting and seeing how we get on.

Pipersgirl · 20/10/2024 10:08

Hi guys, having thought I was out last week with a negative test at 11DPO I then got my BFP at 14DPO- unfortunately then started bleeding the following day and now lines getting fainter. That means two chemical pregnancies in a row for me 😭 I think I’m going to give it a rest next month now to let my cycle reset, as clearly something not quite right at the moment!
Wishing lots of luck to those who are still waiting to test, and congratulations to all of those with their BFP!

I'm so sorry:( lots of self care this month and take some time to rest

HNM · 20/10/2024 12:54

@Confusedmermaid1 OMG it's so confusing isn't it. I had brown sticky CM yesterday which is unusual for me, then a very faint pregnancy test but strong ovulation test, now I have pink when I wipe... AF due Wednesday. Keep me updated Xx
