It is quiet round here today - where are you all??

Anyway, am going to see Boyzone tonight and am now v excited that I can't really concentrate on work Although I am wondering how the hell I am going to stay awake until after midnight being a lightweight anyway - and even worse now I am a pregnant lightweight!!

Will catch up tomorrow (if anyone else appears!)

Morning all

Bellie-so sorry you are feeling rough. The mum at school looked a bit pasty this morning, didn't like to ask how she was feeling. Am so dreading this bit. Since you ask, I will begin testing next Thursday.

ceebee-no, it is certainly not easy but my 2 friends have had 2 C-Sections each and I felt my recovery was much quicker than theirs especially when you have a toddler already that needs picking up.

Well, am trying not to symptom spot so am putting my fingers in my ears and singing la la la so I don't hear myself.

Have put Jeyes Fluid in my water butt and my hands smell foul even though I have washed them well. Ew!

Hope you all have a good day and hi to everyone else.

morning all,

HM2J - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Soo pleased to hear about your scan too.

Not been around for a couple of days, had parents here and also been feeling really rough. Was actually sick on Wed and still not sleeping, the afternoons are the worst as I feel like I have been rung out in a mangle and left on a boat!

7 weeks +1 today so guessing got a few more weeks yet.

I can't believe how fast your dates are moving on everyone and that you are already thinking of your birth plans!

Mandy - still got my fingers crossed for you - it ain't over until it's over as others have been saying.

How long till you can test hc ?

Soosy - so sorry to hear about your news. I was convinced it was your turn this time too. {{hugs}} hope you feel able to come back soon.

ceebee74 · 13/06/2008 09:06

HC - you make it sound so easy!!

HM2J - Happy Birthday!!

ceebee-do not be scared or worried about a vag delivery. As soon as the baby comes out it is an instant recovery and the dreaded heartburn stops after the last push.

congratulations HM2J. Great pics. You truely will be the Queen Bee!

Well I was soooooo surprised by the Apprentice-was sure Clare would win. Still, glad Helene or Alex didn't win.

MJIM great birth plan. Hope they adhere to it. I had DS in an upright position at the midwife's instruction-only thing against it was when he came out it was harder to scoop him up, as he was wriggling beneath me, rather than with DD (who I delivered on my back) she kind of just wriggled straight up to me.

ceebee74 · 12/06/2008 19:47

HM2J - again, fab fab news for you. Am so pleased and a little ! And what a privilege for you to be the only girl in the house

MJIM - the birth plan is great and given me some ideas. The whole natural birth scares me a little as I had a cs with DS - I feel like a first-timer

Mandy - your posts do make me laugh! I really have everything crossed for you that this cycle will be it - not long to wait now!

Hi to everyone else

Thanks for the positivity MJIM, really heart warming. AF due Sat 14 June (CD 28) and I know what's coming. Kicking myself for getting hopes up secretly with the sore nips & weird CM 7-8 DPO (perhaps just old spunk? Sorry!), then a tiny bleeding yesterday (11 DPO).
But before & after that little blood I've had the same brown CM that I always get around CD 24, signalling The B*tch, like a kick in the teeth --->

Mandy73 · 12/06/2008 18:08

HM2J, aaaaw! The little knees - adorable.

Hope everyone's OK this rainy evening. I've washed my hair for the 1st time in four days and (almost) convinced myself it's OK that this wasn't THE cycle. But the thoughts niggle: Didn't I get all the 'PMT' symptoms a little early (8-10 dpo), why am I a bit blissed out today, yada yada. Time to hit a bottle of red & actually enjoy new house now methinks.
Waves to all you nice people. x

Lol-I thought 3 of 5 potential DC's then realised Heartmum meant 3 + 2 adults.

Hehehe!! We designated baby as 3 of a family of 5! Technically he should be 5 of 5, but we tend to put the kids first.

ChocolateEclair · 12/06/2008 16:18

wow! HM2J! Fab piccies! My guess was wrong aswell as your ds1!!! SO glad that all is well and you are happy . I have rushed home in anticipation!!!! I have been wondering about you all day long!

What does 3 of 5 mean??? Are you having 5 children???? Or do you just mean 3rd child of family of 5???? Sorry for being dim!!

HumphreysCorner · 12/06/2008 16:13

So chuffed for you Heartmum-it is truly lovely.

I am back. One of my children is VERY upset and mummy is gloating because she was right all along. Baby was not shy, and I knew a good 5 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to know. I am well and truely going to be the queen in my house of BLUE!! Pics of my adorably cute, newest little man on my profile. Now for the tough part, naming him .

I have to say, judging by how upset ds1 is, I am soooo glad we know now and that he will have plenty of time to adjust to the idea of his brother so that he will actually be excited and happy the day 3 of 5 decides to arrive!

I am thrilled as he looks to be perfectly healthy. There was the tiniest moment of my heart sinking when I saw the goods while we were being shown the legs and feet, it lasted less than 3 seconds. I am really glad that I am ok with a 3rd son, I was terribly worried I would be upset. I am sure I will grieve the daughter I won't have at some point, but for now, I am exstatic

CE, thanks. Gallows humour, eh? Hope headaches have vanished & mullerice craving have been satisfied.

HM2J, all very good suggestions, including the big O as cure for many ailments. So excited to hear your news later.

HC: Well done you cowgirl. Fingers, toes & legs crossed now.

Majormoo, agree totally. A healthoer lifestyle is great (and becomes the only way as we all get older really) but I swear the obsession is counter productive - but what?s the alternative? Awww, DS is 20 months? Lovely age.

Thanks Ceebee ? very wise words. Enjoyed The Apprentice? (I did! My favourite won!)

MJIM ? many thanks for posting the plan ? so interesting. Never seen one before.

Waves to everyone. Hope you have a good day.
Back to work for me. x

HumphreysCorner · 12/06/2008 10:18

Heartmum-can't wait until you have your scan.

Yay, FF has confirmed OV on CD12 which is what I worked out.

MJIM-your birth plan is amazing. Well done with that. My first one was written by the midwife and was:

flexible
? waterbirth (never going to happen, she was pushing it)
Bottle feed
No students
DH's name and tel nos.

Second birth plan was written by me:

Attempt to BF colostrum then DH to five some feeds with SMA Gold. Am totally flexible and will go with whatever is necessary. Will have pethedine, gas and air and epidural if neccessary.

Of course, none of this was adhered to as with both births I had a student midwife both doing excellent work and had a student Dr sat watching me push DD2 out. Had a 25 hour labour with DD1 and she got stuck so had to have an epidural. Needed to be induced with DD2 as waters broken but no proper contractions. BF DD2 then we were out of there 4 hours after the birth. Was not going to stay in overnight like with DD1. So different after your 2nd birth. Don't know what I will write this time-probably 'whatever'! Oh, tried the birthing ball as well with DD2.

Am waffling now-have just made spag bol for tea and have to take DD2 for her 2 year checkup at 11am.

Waves to everyone, will be back later for Heartmum's news.

Great plan MJIM. I was very lucky last time in that I was already 7cm and the midwives were busy booking me in as I was in the wrong hospital, lol! We sat laughing and joking. In the space of 1.5 hours they monitored the babys heartrate about 3 times for about 2 minutes are so each and allowed to do pretty much what I wanted how I wanted until the last 20 minutes where they had me push properly, lol! That is what I want this time as I believe we just instinctively know what to do.

Ceebee, I wouldn't worry about your ds's speech. Ds2 could not really say more than a handful of words at 2. He got about a months worth of speech/play therapy from a sure start speech therapist and his speech came on pretty quickly. At his 3 1/2 year check his speech was flagged again, not because he can't talk sentences or anything, he has quite a large vocabulary, but his speech is "immature" and quite babyish, it still is. I know he is "speech delayed" and am not in the slightest bit worried. He is due to be re-checked next week and I know it is still a problem, but it is getting better without interevention, just slowly. He still says things like Tonna for Connor and yake instead of lake. It will come in it's own time. I refuse to allow them to give my child any more labels.

Opps, bit of a mini rant, sorry!

Anyway, I have forced down some brekkie even though I feel sick with nerves, lol! Thankfully I have my best friend coming around and then my Nan, Grandad & Mum as well, so they will keep me busy this morning! Scan is at 2.30, will let you all know how it went ASAP and certainly before I tell the rest of my family, lol!

ChocolateEclair · 12/06/2008 07:26

HM2J - GOOD LUCK!!!!! I will be rushing home after work tonight!!! Hope it all goes well, and thinking of you xx

MJIM - That sounds great! I think I might try to have quite a few of those elements such as the upright position and lack of intervention. It's the 'being strapped/cionfined ' to the bed that I really don't want. Very impressive!
