Note to all pg ladies - Tshibo have maternity trousers in their sale for £7. Thought I would let you all know as they are a bargain!

MrsPuddleduck · 30/04/2008 08:49

Morning all.

Must be quick - DS2 is terrorising the kitten.

Majormoo - I think you have been treated really badly by the NHS - they could easily fit you in if they tried! I think I would be tempted to pay the £100 (19 days is a long time to be waiting). Can't you go and see your GP and see if they can do something for you (lay it on thick etc).

MJIM - hope your nappy free night went OK. DS1 is 4 and a half and still wears pull ups for bed! I give up - it's not like he's going to be wearing them when he's 10

Hi to everyone else

Catch up later!

juanitad · 29/04/2008 22:21

mjim - scan is on 7th May - a week tomorrow...still seems like a long way away. This is a private scan I have booked (and will have to fork out for unfortunately). Haven't heard a thing from the NHS, so goodness knows when scan would be if I waited to hear from them!

Anyway, past my bedtime, must dash!

hello all,

not been around for few days as seem to have been sooooooo busy (not quiet sure what though although I did clean out the pantry today which took 3 hours and lots of climbing up and down steps!!) - do you think that they could create a wii game based on that!

HC -sorry that you are feeling so rotten, but great news about your holiday! Glad that your inlaws can't fit in too.
We take my parents and ilaws - but in a different cottage, but added bonus of babysitting then we are having a week on our own later in the summer.

Willmouse - the 2ww seems to take forever doesn't it!

Majormoo - glad that you have a lovely midwife, but ohh what to do about the scan. Is it worth ringing tomorrow to ask them how often they get cancellations? Personally I would pay the £100, but it is a lot of money and £100 goes a long way. {{hugs}} what a decision to make.

Hope everyone else is OK - hope you are ok ce and thinking positive again nowxx

majormoo · 29/04/2008 20:06

HC your garden sounds lovely. And so little time til you start TTC.

Glad you enjoyed your birthday Ceebee.
Hope your day was still fun MJIM despite DH being back at work.

I saw the midwife today. Was really pleased as it is the same one I had with DS and she is lovely. The only problem is, because I had a very early miscarriage in March, I need a dating scan. The hospital cannot fit me in until 19th May, by which time I will be about 11 weeks. That does not leave me long to get my nuchal booked at Kings. She said it should be fine but am a bit worried I will not be able to get a scan. She said to call the hospital to ask them to call me if there is a cancellation, but they said that is very unlikely. Only other option I have is to fork out £100 for a private scan. The midwife said that is what she would do in my position but she is obviously richer than us! Oh what to do, what to do.

juanitad · 29/04/2008 20:03

Hi all,

Wilmouse, thanks for the advice re: the wii fit, think you are probably right. I reckon I will get one after baby is born, as no doubt I will want to lose weight then, but going to the gym probably won't be much of an option!! And who knows, maybe my friends will get back together and reclaim the wii (although it's looking very unlikely at the moment - she is saying that she still loves him, but is not in love with him...the spark has gone for her). Plus, I guess the wii fit might have come down in price in a few months' time. So for now, I will stick with swimming which has been my main form of exercise since finding out I was pg.

I hope Carolyn is ok. She's not been back on since AF arrived for her. I guess she probably just wants a bit of space from MN for a while, being on here is a constant reminder of TTC and babies etc, and maybe she wants a bit of time of normality again!

Glad you had a nice birthday ceebee and hope MS is over for you soon!

Hi to everyone else.

HumphreysCorner · 29/04/2008 16:04

willmouse-our garden is quite big so I only get up and down before I have to empty the grass box. Also, it is not just a rectangle of grass as I have created an orchard and a seperate secret garden with lots of trees planted in the grass. When it all grows to plan I intend to hide in there. If DH cuts it he uses his dad's ride on mower but I prefer my little petrol mower-most therapeutic. Was still a tad wet earlier. Have fun on the Wii

It only takes DH 10 mins to do our front and back lawn (although both are v small unfortunately).

Right, off for my daily hour on Wii fit!!!

Lol willmouse-not going to be easy with 2 excitable children in bunk beds. DH asked this morning when we are starting TTC so I said Thurs. Technically, I need to wait for AF which is due at the weekend then I need to temp so looking at mid May. Have said it is now or never as the gap would become too big. £88 is a good price-think I pay £4-75 a night but mum and dad put their Laurence in a slightly better cattery at £6 something a night. They haven't phoned yet and I've drank my tea so will have to get on.

HC - AF is not due until 9th/10th May it feels like an eternity!

Just booked George into the closest cattery to our house - I didn't know how to choose. It sounds OK - it has outdoor runs which are heated, it is on a farm where they only accept fully vacinated cats so should be OK. Tis a bargain at £88 (for 16 days) - the dog used to cost us loads more than that!

HC - your holiday sounds great and good news that the inlaws can't go! If you are ttc when you go are you going to make a sign to put on the outside of your caravan saying "if the 'van's rocking don't come knocking!" LOL

HumphreysCorner · 29/04/2008 10:06

DH has got us booked in so we are off to Norfolk on the 27th May for 6 nights-yay! Just hoping that the PIL don't go-ah, DH said we got the last pitch so they can't! Phewee!!! Am now waiting for a call back from the cattery to see if the boy can go there. The grass will have to wait as I need to hear the phone. Think I will have a little tidy up of toys instead.

willmouse-when you say you are still waiting, is AF late eh, eh??? Ring a cattery now and don't forget to take his vaccination cert with you as they won't accept him without it.

Don't you lot go mad with Wii exercising when you are a) aleady PG and b) possibly PG. Gentle exercise only please if you feel the need. I always feel so grot that exercise is the last thing on my mind.

Flipping throat-ggrrrhhh!!!

Morning all.

Still waiting here......

My opinion of the wii is as follows:-
I don't think I would do it much if I were pg - the step aerobics and the boxing game (mainly punching - DS1's fave!) are probably OK but the other fat burning games are jogging and hula hooping which I definitely wouldn't do. The balancing games are probably OK (ski jumping, snow boarding, tight rope walking etc) to do when pg but personally I don't think I would bother. However, it is great used in conjuncion with losing weight and would be great for afterwards. Basically you stand on it and it tells you how heavy you are and your bmi and then plots it on a chart. You can go on every day plot your weight and do exercise etc so it is good for motivation. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are trying to lose weight. Here endeth the sermon....

Glad you had a good holiday ceebee

Hope your appointment goes well Majormoo

HC - you have just reminded me to book George into the cattery - hope I'm not too late!

HumphreysCorner · 29/04/2008 09:19

Morning all

Have just about lost my voice and it is still sore. Bah humbug!

Trying to book a week away in the caravan-DH is phoning from work now as I can't speak to anyone. Have got to book the cat in though so that will be a struggle-she will think I am some mad woman.

ceebee-glad you had a great B'Day and hope the sickness goes very soon and you start to bloom.

My OV and PG sticks don't need peeling-I just dip them.

Grass needs cutting but it is quite wet at the moment.

Will catch up later. Hi to everyone else.

Thanks for all the birthday messages ladies Have had a good couple of days - went on a boat trip round Lake Windermere yesterday, then out to an Italian restaurant for tea. Today we went to a zoo where you can get really close to the animals - you can feed giraffes, walk round areas where kangaroos, lemurs and ostriches are free etc. Funnily enough, the animals DS was most scared of were the ducks

Sickness seemed to disappear yesterday which was great but has now come back with a bit of a vengeance tonight. Am now nearly 10 weeks and it is definitely easing thank god!

HC - thanks for the fruit smoothie - I love the thoughtfulness of sending me a non-alcoholic drink!

Angel - glad the sticks arrived and fingers crossed they do the trick for you. As you had given me your work address, I thought I had better mark them private and confidential just in case some random person in your post room opened them

Willmouse - 2lb??? Wow! Like Juanitad, I have looked at getting the Wii fit but I don't think I would use it now so I think I will get it to get myself back in shape after this baby is born but before I can face the gym. Fingers crosssed for you this month - am sure statistically, we must have a BFP from somewhere this month.

Majormoo - hope the midwife appointment goes well tomorrow

MJIM - so glad DS is back to his normal self - it is amazing what chaos a change of routine can cause isn't it?

Whilst at the zoo today, they had some wooden walkways which were really slippery - I fell over onto my bum quite hard (which fortunately is VERY well-padded) - was a bit worried about 'bump' but everything seems to be ok.

Anyway, off for an early night in a bit.

majormoo · 28/04/2008 20:05

well 2lbs already-that is some workout!

Juanitad sorry about your friends, but every cloud has a silver lining as it were, with you getting the wii!!

HM2J glad your family were all pleased. Just try to ignore all the comments about the sex of the baby-not easy I know, but they will love him/her no matter what the sex.

glad your DS is behaving himself MJIM.

Wish I knew what to do with the garden-always think it must be a relaxing hobby and very satisfying growing your own stuff. MIL does our garden for us and she can lose herself for hours down there.

BB sorry to hear you are feeling down. Hope this month is the month for you.

Angel I have only ever used the supermarket tests so not sure about the ones you have. Hope they work anyway.

I called doctors surgery today and the shirty receptionist told me I should already have seen the midwife at 7 weeks (rather than the 8weeks odd I am now.) Oh well. Seeing the midwife tomorrow. Can't say I am looking forward to it at all. Would rather ignore the whole thing really as any talk of ultrasound scans fills me with dread.

juanitad · 28/04/2008 18:18

Wilmouse, I currently have a wii on long term loan....friends of ours have split up this weekend, after 15 years together. It's been horrible to tell you the truth. Anyway, the wii was a Christmas present from her to him, and now he would rather not have it in the house, so he has given it to us to look after!! He doesn't want it back any time soon, so now I am thinking about buying a wii fit, but thought I might get some advice from you first. How safe/practical do you think it is for a pg person to use it (fingers crossed this is a dilemma that you will be in very soon also!!). Is it worth me splashing out the sixty quid, or am I likely to find it too difficult once I get big? It's the kind of thing I usually love - I have a dance mat for the ps2 and I used to do an hour on that every date, it was great!! So your opinion would be appreciated!!

MrsPuddleduck · 28/04/2008 16:13

Just done my hour on wii fit - I have lost 2lb since yesterday

Are the tomatoes going outside now? I usually buy mine from B&Q but it would be good to know when to go and get them

George is fine btw!

Angel, not heard of the ones you are describing, unless I used mine wrong, lol! Hopefully you will get the result you want with them!

Angel2008 · 28/04/2008 14:22

Hihi

Yes dip stick ones with a bit you have to peel off. You get a test line and then a line if you are preggers but nothing if not.
