Willmouse, yep, the OB is definately a muppet, a right jobsworth, BUT her secretary is lovely. I will call tomorrow to make sure the fax went off. Oh and I am also an "at arms length" kind of friend. My best friend and I are very close, but even she calls in advance to tell me she is coming around, even if it is "I'm on the bus, see you in 15 minutes". I definately don't do well with people dropping in without invite or warning. Yay for the new washer too! 48 minutes for a 30 wash is great, I thought mine was good but it takes 62 minutes, lol!

Good luck to those watching the footie tonight! Oh and Ceebee, I am loving curry alot right now too, anything strongly flavoured for that matter. I don't like them hot, but do like the flavours

Jaunitad, enjoy spain!

CE, soons very good so far this month! Being relaxed and calm is good!

HC, I hope the choccy cake was good!

HumphreysCorner · 21/05/2008 19:21

Meant to say Bellie-make sure you use first morning wee then report result to us pronto. GOOD LUCK !

ceebee-is that why there is bugger all on TV until later? GRRHHH!!!

willmouse-I too am unsociable keen to keep my distance. I need lots of notice before anyone comes round (if they must come round). Not good having someone like that in your life. Good that you have a new washer.

juanitad-v. of you going to Spain. Have a great time!

Can't believe The Apprentice is on at 10pm at the same time as Desperate Housewives. Will have to record both as this hour is too late for me.

Ooh Willmouse don't get me started!! I am guessing that you don't realise we have just as many English players as Man United???

Right, off to collect our Indian takeaway and then sit down and keep everything crossed!! BTW, I have never had an Indian takeaway in my life before (much to DH's continual disappointment) but I have had a sudden urge for one recently - must be the spices I guess!!

hi girls!

Angel - good luck with the pre-seed. I have looked at it, but DP says it's 'too scientific'!LOL! And taking temp/doing it 5 days running/taking agnus catstus/folic acid sin't! LOL

MJIM - ds sounds very clever...and you are allowed to tell us all! (as much as you like! LOL!)

HM2J - hope you are a little more relaxed. Have you got anything sorted yet?

Bellie- I am really excited for you! DO you think you can hold off testing tomorrow??? I have it all crossed tonight!

ceebee...for the football aswell!!! Hope Chelsea win or suspect we might have some grumpy ladies and DH's on here! LOL!

Willmouse - glad you got the washer sorted. It sounds perfect. I know exactly what you mean about the OTT friend. I am rubbish with women in RL, and much prefer to have bloke mates. I constantly find myself surprised by how much I tell you guys!

Soosy - sorry your ds is ill. Hope he sleeps well tonight. Glad your scan went well, it all sounds positive doesn't it?!?!? I really hope your FET works

Majormoo - your DH can bake a cake?! I am suitably impressed...you need never cook again! LOL!

HC - glad you got the chocolate cake. I think your body tells you what it needs sometimes and you should just go with it!

I am fine. I'm going to watch the footie as DP is a big football fan, although is a Magpie! urgh! I had a slight temp dip today at 8dpo...trying not to get excited though. I actually feel very calm this month, and will just wait and see what happens.

MrsPuddleduck · 21/05/2008 17:58

Hi all.

I still have a permanent headache here

Good news is that I now have a new washer just ended up having an expensive one which washing machine repair man had in stock and could fit today Oh well, at least it is quite nifty (for a washer) am I sad to be excited about the fact that I can do a 30 degree wash in 48 mins

Bad news (for me) was that my new friend/business partner to be/childminder turns out to be one of those people who just 'drop in' - as she did today. The house was a complete tip and to make it worse she went to the downstairs loo which needed more than a little TLC . She also seems a little 'full on' - not that that is a bad thing - but again, not what I am used to - so I have also spent a good part of the afternoon counselling her through an argument she has had with someone on the school playground All of my friends have always been 'at arms length' iyswim - that is why I like my 'virtual friends' here on mumsnet!!

Sorry, that was all about me.....

Juanitad - hope you enjoy Spain - make the most of it - the next time you go you will only be able to take up 1/4 of the suitcase!

Bellie - fingers (and legs) crossed for you here!

CE - ditto for you!!!

Mjob - what a clever little one you have! It's good to be smug!

HC - hope you're feeling better

Ceebee - good luck with the footie tonight (although I am personally not a Chelsea fan on the basis that none of the players are English !!!!!!

Majormoo - well done on the cake. How thoughtful of you!

Angel - good luck with the pre-seed. Let us know how you get on with it!

H2MJ - hope you get your appointment - I told you that ob was a muppet!

Soosy - good luck with the FET. Are you still looking for a house then!!!!! I thought it was a buyer's market at the moment!

Sorry if I missed anyone!

Right, I'm off now .....have good evening ladies

Bellie · 21/05/2008 17:56

Mjim - ds sounds wonderful [simle] - is there a proud mummy emoticon?

Well, today I brought the first response - the question is whether I can resist testing tomorrow . I am really fluctuating between feeling af symptoms and having none at all. Legs are aching quiet alot, but don't know what thant means .
Sorry this is fleeting but got to go and get parents from station...

good luck ceebee for tonight!

wave to everyone else (hope to be around more tomorrow!)

HumphreysCorner · 21/05/2008 17:47

You have been chatty

ceebee-today I bought a piece of chocolately something or other (can't remember what it is called) as I felt all dizzy. Think I need to try and eat more-this cold doesn't help. GGGRRRHHH!!!

soosy-'tis a shame about Wales but hey, things are moving again for you, Positive vibes.

Heartmum-you have got an active baby. DD1 could be seen from the outside but DD2 never moved. So exciting.

Bellie-CD 28 so not long to wait. Positive vibes to you too. There is no way I will be PG having only done the deed once-that only happens to others. My friend is an example.

MJIM-your DS sounds a real cutie. No wonder you are so proud. 20 weeks and 3 days-fabulous.

Must get some tea on-hi to every one else.

Hi all

Just quickly on a couple of things.

I would definitely like a private birth aswell but they are quite expensive. www.babyworld.co.uk/features/birth/payingforbabysbirth.asp

I have just bought some Pre-Seed, it seems like it does great things so I am really hopeful! www.amazon.com/review/product/B0001E8BJ2/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?%5Fencoding=UTF8&showViewpo ints=1

Lots of love xxx

ceebee74 · 21/05/2008 15:35

MJIM - what a clever little boy you have! You must be so proud and it is obviously a credit to the way you have brought him up Unfortunately, as DS goes to nursery 4 days a week, I cannot take any credit for his achievements

HM2J - lol at you thinking it is wind! I am so but I know my time will come! I never saw anything with DS apart from my belly rippling - never a hand or foot. Oh and he did get hiccups at least once a day!!

Majormoo - wow, the cake sounds fab! Is it out of a book or is your DH designing it himself? Can you post a photo? Lol at you wondering how to spell Ballack - it is the kind of name that you have to be very careful with isn't it? An'o' in the wrong place can give it a whole new meaning

HC - I can't believe you are coming down with another cold!

Soosy - sorry about Wales but I am sure that if this time the FET is a success, the sacrifice will be more than worth it!

Not much to report here - just counting down the hours until kick-off! Have booked DS's birthday party - I honestly couldn't face having it in our house as I do not have the energy for all the tidying, cleaning, preparing food etc so I have booked one at a soft play area. I know DS is far too young to appreciate it but it is the easier option! I just need to think of 10 'friends' for him to invite

Heartmum2Jamie · 21/05/2008 14:06

Yay for having a bright spark MJIM! As for seeing the kicks, I hope it was kicks cos it is not so cute to think I may have seen wind moving around

Thanks ladies, I knew you wouldn't think I was just whinging for the sake of it, lol! I will certainly be pestering from now on, seems I can't trust anyone to do anything, so will be back on the ohone tomorrow if I don't hear anything before then.

Soosy, I am glad everything is on track for the FET, although sorry about the trip. I also hope that your ds is feeling better and that the dr can give you the suppositries (a must to kep around with small children I have found, even if not a pleasant thought!) I must get some more calpol in as ds2 has his pre-school boosters tomorrow morning

HC, yes, we got caught first month trying, which always makes me feel incredibly guilty, when I would like nothing more than to see the rest of you graduating. I hope that you can at least follow in my footsteps HC. Sorry you are starting to come down with something, I hope it passes quickly.

Bellie, not long to wait for you now, fingers and everything else crossed!

Mjim, Yay for the half way mark and feeling properly pregnant. I hope that you aren't coming down with something too. Mind you, I had a terrible day on Sunday, hayfever was bloomin' awful and it takes a good 3 days to get over an attack. I am also starting to feel a little more pregnant now that i can feel more movement. I actually saw the baby kick from the outside yesterday, twice! Very cute!

Waves hello to everyone else! Suppose I should go and shower!

HM2J - what a nightmare for you - I wish there was something that I could do to help (but short of becoming a consultant that can do echo scans not sure there is..) I think the NHS is so stretched that they really can't cope with the numbers of people that now live in this country. (sorry for getting a bit political but stories like yours make me sooooo .)

HC - you never know do you it only takes one little swimmer!! (although I will be a but if it happens first time for you! - in a nice way of course!!)

Parents are here at the moment so not much time to get on here - hope everyone else is ok. SOunding positive for you soosy - but sorry you can't get to wales as well! Life does become complicated doesn't it when you have to live by certain dates!

CD28 today, so still waiting...

Try to get back on later!

majormoo · 20/05/2008 22:33

soosy glad all looks ok for your FET

HM2J cannot believe how shabbily you have been treated. Hope you get it sorted soon

Ceebee-DH is busy making FIL a Chelsea birthday cake having made him a Ballack (is that how you spell it) birthday card with DD-god I hope they win

soosy · 20/05/2008 22:25

Hello, my you have been busy since Thurs! Sorry I have been away, but have been house hunting and DS has been ill again. He gets these v high temps and starts vomiting and doesn't stop until his temperature comes down, quite difficult if he can't keep the neurofen down, so we are going to the doctor to see if we can get some suppositories (or bottom medicine as DS calls it) as He had a febrile convulsion last summer and I don't want him to have another.

Anyway BB what is Pre-seed I have never heard of this but is it something I should try before my FET?

HM2J sorry you are having such a hard time with the NHS, I blame all the bureaucrats who have been employed. The IVF clinic has about 20 staff but two business managers, and get this: the nurses can no longer make scan appointments, they have to fill in a slip with the dates on and then you have to take the slip to reception where some incompetent female has to give you an appointment, as a consequence there is no flexibility and it takes about 20 mins to do argghh.

Willmouse, it will all work out in the end, so don't panic about it all.

Bellie, fingers crossed for you , any more news from your clinic.

Anyway have had first scan all ok so far, back on Friday. they will not let me go to Wales as they say i have to be back on BH monday. If my follicle has grown to about 15mm by fri I may be able to go as I will be on OPK's , but otherwise I will be at home for half term.

Lots of love to the rest of you.

Sx

HumphreysCorner · 20/05/2008 21:24

Heartmum-you really shouldn't have this sort of stress when PG-gggrrrhhh on your behalf! Good news on the BF charts as DD2 was always off the bottom of the charts. BTW-didn't you get PG first month of TTC this time? If I couldn't eat peanuts I would die-lived on Snickers and nuts through both pregnancies.

ceebee-VBAC has got to be good news. Instant recovery.

Love to all. Am coming down with a rotten cold with a sore throat. Daren't take anything just incase.

Heartmum2Jamie · 20/05/2008 20:20

Welcome back mjim!! Sounds like a good weekend/trip.

Ceebee, wow at the VBAC, although Grrrr at the registrar and the hour wait. Snap, that's what I had. I am sure by the time it is time, you will know in your head & heart what you want and be comfortable with the choice.

As for me, it has been an interesting afternoon to say the least. I spent it playing phone tag between hospitals and consultants. As un update to my terrible OB appt 3 weeks ago, a HUGE cock up has been made and no referal has been made to the fetal medical centre for this baby's fetal echo. I could cry. Thankfully the OB's consultant is a wonderful woman, couldn't stop apologising and told me that she will get the OB to dicate the letter tomorrow and that she will type it up ASAP and FAX it across, so I should be able to call up either Friday or early next week and get my appt. I really should be angry, it's the same story over and over again. DS2 slipped under the radar and nearly died as a result. If I didn't keep pushing and chasing, I would never get the care either of us deserve. Thankfully for the OB, I am too tired to be angry enough to complain and thankully, her secretary more than makes up for the fact that the registar I saw (who was a locum no less) was a pile of *t! Oh, and to top off my day, I spoke with ds2's dieitician and was told in no uncertain terms that I must stay away from peanut butter and all peanut products all the while I am pregnant and breastfeeding. Sigh! It's going to be a long 2/3 years then, lol! Typical, nothing else sounds good, except for a peanut butter sandwich!

Oh, the good news is that for those who wish to breastfeed, the new breastfed baby charts should be out by October. Yay! No more tracking my baby's weight on a chart designed for a formula fed baby

ceebee74 · 20/05/2008 20:05

Evening all

MJIM - welcome back. Glad you had a lovely weekend and you are all well

HC - how exciting - this 2ww is going to be agonising for you but fingers crossed!

HM2J - about the NHS. I have been horrified by some of the stories on the ante-natal thread and it certainly puts my issues with them into perspective! I really hope you get it sorted.

Ho to everyone else

Went to see the consultant today - except I ended up seeing a registrar as the consultant was 'too busy' - and I still had to wait an hour fgs! Anyway, the upshot of the conversation was that there is absolutely no reason why I should need another c-section so it is a VBAC for me. Have to say I am still not sure about it and thought I would have a choice but apparently not! The only comfort was that she said they would stop labour much earlier this time round if things weren't progressing which is a relief as it was 24 hours with DS and absolute torture! Anyway, I guess I have got 6 months to get my head round this.

This time tomorrow I will be a bag of nerves with the football - all think positive thoughts about Chelsea and bad, negative thoughts about Man United

ChocEclair-am only CD 19 so although I have lots of symptoms I know it is not going to happen straight away. Although I did feel different after conceiving DD2 but didn't realise until I got a BFP at CD 25 that they were PG symptons. It passes the time away on the 2ww dreaming that I could be Nancy PG. AF isn't due until 30th May although FF has AF due 24th going by OV day being on CD12. It has test day marked at the 27th May which is 3 days before my normal AF is due. Soooo complicated. Will start testing this weekend as I can't stop myself and it helps me to expect AF when I get BFN's-lessens the disappointment IYKWIM. Good look to you and any other imminent testers. Hope when I do get a BFP I won't be the only one.

Ceebee ? so 2 signs that it?s a pink one then!?!? That?s fab!

Juanitad- have a fab trip to Spain. Hope the kids are well behaved! I bet you will be coming home for a rest!

Majormoo ? 11 weeks 2 days! That?s amazing! Was 6th December about when you thought? Hope you are keeping well!

Bellie ? you must be getting excited now! Sorry to hear you were feeling down when you saw your pg friends.

HM2J ? hope the car seat came clean! And sorry about the NHS being rubbish! How much would it cost to go private? (I ask because I am seriously considering it, depending on cost, due to my total hospital phobia. I?m thinking private might be able to talk to me more and reassure me). Hope you get the echo thingy booked in soon xx

HC ? is it possible to feel pg yet? It would be brilliant if you have managed it first month!

I have had a nice day, sports day today, and quite sunny. I have no symptoms at all, but not sure I would know if I had! I don?t really get premenstrual or any of that, so I guess that could be a sign for me if I do! Today is CD26 of 33. I can test a week tomorrow if no AF!

Hope everyone else is ok ? Angel, BB, Soosy, Willmouse and MJIM xx

Heartmum2Jamie · 20/05/2008 13:08

Ohhh HC, that does sound promising! Like I said before, I just KNEW I was pregnant with ds2 a good week before I could even test, lol!

I am not having a brilliant day. I am still marvelling at how completely rubbish maternity care is most of the time. I have seen enough examples of it on the antenatal thread. It's happening to me too. I called the fetal medicine centre at Brum today to see if they recieved my referal from more than 3 weeks ago. Nope, no referal, so no appt for fetal echo which should be done at 20 weeks (am 17 weeks tomorrow). Now I have to go chasing after consultants, referals and try and get an appt quickly so I can arrange childcare and someone to come with me to hold my hand as there is no way dh will be able to come with me now. If I had the money for private care, I would totally do it, it has to be better than this rubbish!

HumphreysCorner · 20/05/2008 11:49

majormoo-11 weeks and 2 days. So pleased all is well.

have dreadful heartburn which I only get when PG and an annoying headache. There, said it. Said to DH that if these are phantom PG symptons I don't think I can live with them until I actually get a BFP.

Lovely day, have cut the rest of the grass (did some yesterday).

Waves to everyone.
