Thanks for the advice about keeping the hope alive HC. My DS birthday 28th June, so only 1 day younger than your DD. Now I've worked it out that means I'm 7 DPO.

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 21:40

willmouse-yes, go to the Drs tomorrow as with it being Bank Holiday you won't be able to go again until Tues and you don't want to ruin your weekend with worry.

Thanks Willmouse. Sounds like you should go to the Dr just to check it out, especially as you need to go anyway!

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 21:38

My DD2 was born 27th June so close in age to your DS possibly. CD1 for me was 2nd May and I ovulated on CD12 so that makes me 9 DPO (days past ovulation). This is our first month of TTC No 3 and only did the deed once on CD12 and have convinced myself I am PG so in for a big fall when AF arrives. You need to believe that you are PG during the 2 week wait to keep the hope alive.

Sorry knax, forgot to say Hi to you!!!! DPO is days past ovulation.

HC and H2MJ - thanks for the advice. Bleeding is quite bad and def have cramping. I could go to the Dr in the morning but can't face the thought of being patted on the head and sent away - that said I do need a repeat for my hayfever tablets so I could kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

Do you think I should go or wait and see what happens?

Knax · 22/05/2008 21:34

CD1 was 30th April I mean..

Knax · 22/05/2008 21:31

Hi HC. My DS is 23 months, and I'm using Persona to test for ovulation (It's not meant to be for TTC I know, but does the job.) Sorry I haven't worked out many of the abbreviations yet. What's DPO? CD 1 was 30th May but I tend to have longish cycles. Could possibly be due AF before 30th May actually but trying not to let myself test too soon. Sad self delusion I know!

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 21:24

Hello Knax and welcome. If I go by my usual 28 day cycle then my AF is due same day as you-30th. Last AF started 2nd May but I (and some of the others) are using Fertility Friend to chart our temps and it is trying to tell me my AF is due on Sat 24th as I am 9 DPO. What DPO are you? Do you have a girl or boy and how old?

willmouse-is it heavy bleeding? Is it worth doing a test? Mid cycle bleeding should be reported to your GP. Could it be an infection? Keep us updated won't you?

Thanks Heartmum, Hope your DS feeling better tomorrow!

Heartmum2Jamie · 22/05/2008 21:17

Hi Knax and welcome! I hope next week brings you great news!

Willmouse, I wish I had an explanation for you. Have you taken a test just to rule out pregnancy? I would suggest seeing the GP if it doesn't feel right.

MJIM, I would love to have children that tidied up after themselves. DS1 has NEVER willingly put his things away. DS2 isn't too bad, will do it if asked, but is taking the lead from ds1 and suddenly nowhere near as good as he was.

Thanks ladies, I was a bit shocked that the wrong strngth medication was prescribed to ds2. It would not have been an issue for 1 or 2 doses, but had I not have checked and given him the 4 doses in 24 hours, he would be at the FULL limit. I decided not to take the chance and has given him normal 3 month+ nurofen about 20 minutes ago as he was heading to bed and felt a smidgen warm, plus he says his arm hurts, poor love. Hopefully he will have a restful night and feel much better tomorrow.

Bellie, relax! Easier said than done I know. Backache is quite normal, especiallty around the times AF would have been due.

Knax · 22/05/2008 21:06

Hi.. Can I join? AF due 30th May and am obsessed with TTC at the moment. Keep imagining that people I know are pg - losing plot. Any others due around next next fri?
TTC no2 cycle 4

MrsPuddleduck · 22/05/2008 20:45

Can't possibly be an implantation bleed - surely it is way too early (although did the deed two days ago )

I have proper AF pains .

I suppose I will see how I go..... and go to the GP if necessary.

ceebee74 · 22/05/2008 20:40

I can?t get to my computer for the afternoon and you lot suddenly become the chattiest bunch ever!!

Bellie ? glad the appointment with the doctors went well and 6th June isn?t really that far away considering you have a holiday in between so I am sure the time will fly be for that.

HC ? now you know early testing only leads to disappointment (well not always obviously and hopefully not for you!)

Willmouse ? I cannot explain ? am thinking it may be an implantation bleed but tis probably too early for that but you never know. Is it definitely AF? I also would be very upset if DS?s nursery did that ? surely there must be ways of getting him to sit down without labelling him so publicly.

MJIM ? wow you look pregnant I bet it just feels fab ? I can?t wait until I get to that stage rather than just looking fat! Your DS does sound like an absolute dream ? bright and tidies up after himself ? where can I get myself one of those?? Unfortunately my DS seems to have the sole purpose in life of making as much mess and destruction as possible with no intention of tidying up ? hence either me or DH have to spend a good 15 minutes every evening tidying the lounge just to see the floor again

CE ? just to add to your list ? Mr Whippy ice-cream (a la McFlurrys) ? have to avoid it although I find that quite hard

Thanks for all your support about the footy ladies even though I know it is only a game! Am feeling slightly better ? mainly because everyone at work agreed that Chelsea deserved to win so I have accepted that Man Utd were just damn lucky rather than better than us ? small comfort but it does make me feel better.

Aw held a tiny tiny baby today ? she only weighed 5lb at 3 weeks old (she was born 5 weeks early) and was so so diddy but absolutely gorgeous.

Right, better post this and get off ? DH has just about reached the end of his tether with the lack of action in the bedroom so am going to have to motivate myself Poor man went from every other night to once a week if he is lucky!!

DD1 will not tidy up despite being asked 1 million times and sat on the naughty mat. Takes an awful lot of shouting persuasion to get her to tidy. DD2 on the other hand puts everything away (at 23 months) without being asked. DD1 lets her tidy up for her which I am none too happy about. The girls are so different.

mjim - hmm - dd will tidy but only when asked - usually when I can't see the floor or at the end of the day. Wow you have definately got a good one there!! He is even more scrummy in my eyes now

Slowly driving myself demented already - had lower back ache most of the afternoon and now I have convinced myself that this cannot be good - legs are also still aching like crazy. Obvioulsy I need to chill a bit more!

Oh I intend to be very anal (think Monica from friends anal and you're half way......!)

runny eggs (and raw egg products)
unpasteurised milk and cheese
undercooked chicken
raw meat products eg pate
uncooked shellfish - ie prawns ok when hot but not cold.
unwashed bags of salad
ALCOHOL
Seafood
Tinned tuna
Caffine
Blue Cheese
Rare meat
Possibly peanuts
Homemade ice cream or mayonaise

I had no idea about tinned tuna...I have this every day for luch!!! (with a bag ofunwashed salad!LOL!

and is it just peanuts or all nuts? What about Nutella???? I eat this every day too!!

Yes I really did dream about you!!! Also someone at work told me today she dreamt that I was pg last night (I have only told a few women at work that we are ttc)

MrsPuddleduck · 22/05/2008 17:13

ChocolateEclair - you have missed the most important one of all - ALCOHOL only most of us drink it anyway we just don't admit that we do on mumsnet.

You also need to add to your list the following items (depending on how anal you intend to be - we will let you off as it will be your first :-

Seafood
Tinned tuna
Caffine
Blue Cheese
Rare meat
Possibly peanuts
Homemade ice cream or mayonaise

Bellie · 22/05/2008 17:09

Ce - really you were dreaming of me - although I dreamt that I was pg and that's why I woke up this morning and tested!!

Willmouse - I would be about it too. I agree with CE not labelling children this early etc etc. definatley worth having a word tomorrow.

HM2J - too for you. Thank goodness that everything will be ok and no damage done. You really would think that as he isn't 4 yet he really should only have medicine for under 4's.

HC - fingers crossed for you - if your stomach is turning already!!

ceebee - hope you are feeling better after last night - bump will be a footie fan I would think!

CE - adding to your list
uncooked shellfish - ie prawns ok when hot but not cold.
unwashed bags of salad

ChocolateEclair · 22/05/2008 16:53

Willmouse - I would not be too happy either I think. There are other ways of getting him to sit that are much more positive e.g giving him a special job to, or sit him next to teacher. Cuold even have little rewards for children who sit properly and nicely for circle time. Hopefully they now know you aren't happy, if not I would mention it to them tomorrow. I would be keen to avoid him being labelled as the naughty one at such a young age (self fullfilling prophecy and all that). However, i am not primary trained so not sure if this is standard stuff, but I would be surprised! Hope you get it sorted.

MJIM - fab piccie! You are blooming nicely now! Seems to have grown a fair bit since your last pic and looks fab! ...and your ds is well cute!

HM2J - I cannot believe what has happened today . I would have been livid. It could have been so much more serious than it was. I suppose the main thing is he is ok, but you must be so stressed after the last few days. Not good for a pg lady. Would it be worth doing a full complaint about everything? or wuold this cause more stress?

HC - yes, I had a dip yesterday and a sharp rise today. Technically this is very promising, BUT not allowing myself to get excited!!! I will resist testing til wednesday definetly!!!! Hope you can hold off a little longer!!!!! ....I did take it easy in the rounders match I taught today.....not as much diving on floor etc as usual!!!! (just in case!)

ceebee - maybe bump will be a big footie fan if you watch a lot of footie and get excited about it! Hope you have recovered! I was thinking about you last night! (Ronaldo is such a cheater btw...he dived on floor clutching leg, when he got kicked on the other leg at one point!!!!

Also, I was thinking about trying to put together a list of stuff you should avoid eating while pg, would you all like to help? I know about:

runny eggs (and raw egg products)
unpasteurised milk and cheese
undercooked chicken
raw meat products eg pate

what have I missed????
