Thanks Soosy, that's really interesting & well explained.

Hi BB. I'm sorry. I know the feeling of it taking forever. Getting swimmer test sounds good though.

Willmouse, I'm so sorry. You are being amazingly brave & good humoured about this.

CE, well done, I'd be excited to be sick too.
Yeah, DH is a good guy. That's why I haven't got kids yet - took a while to find the right bloke

Ceebee, I'm sure you look lovely.

Willmouse - hope you manage to work your dates out! at what a year that was!!!

ceebee - congratulations on 'blooming'!!! It must be lovely to be enjoying your pg now

Yes, I suppose it is a bit odd me being excited about MS! (this is my first pg so I'm sure it will wear off soon!!

Just spoke to my dsis and told her the news! She was sooo surprised but very happy...said she would dig out her old pg books! My little niece was there (3.5) and she said to her "Auntie C has got a baby in her tummy"...she said she smiled and stuck out her tongue! LOL! Kids hey!

Just for you CE -

Right - I'm on a desparate mission now. The last time I bled mid-cycle was when I concieved DS2 but in the absence of 2005's calendar I am struggling to work out exactly what happened. I wouldn't be so bothered only I have sore (.)(.) (which can also be an effect of hormone imbalance aparently -grrr).

My due date was 5th April 2006 so I have worked out that my last period was 29th June 2005 I definitely had a bleed mid-cycle as we were on holiday at the time and I didn't expect to start until after I got back. It was towards the end of the holiday and was just for a couple of days - I had a v light period around the time AF was due which alerted me to the fact that I may be pg. Now all I have to do is work out when we went on holiday. As I remember my Grandad died on the Friday and we went on the Monday for 10 days - I can't remember the anniversary of my Grandad's death It was about 2/3 weeks after MIL died which was 12th June....what a year that was !

Back later when I manage to make sense of it all!

BB - so sorry that AF got you but at least the doctor is being helpful and giving you a date if nothing happens - much better than be fobbed off with the usual 'oh give it time'!

Willmouse - no advice either Sorry you are having to go through this and it must be hard not having the answers.

CE - lol at you being excited about being sick I give you precisely 2 weeks before you are on here moaning about how rough you feel and how crap it is (I can say that now I am through the crapness and am officially 'blooming' )

My hair actually looked ok this morning once it was curly and everyone at work has been complimentary about it so maybe it doesn't look that bad!

Don't want to spoil it for anyone who didn't watch the Apprentice last night but !

Start some new stats off CE

I told you the vomiting would start soon LOL!

ChocolateEclair · 28/05/2008 11:46

I have been sick this morning!!!! How very dare the MS start so soon!!!!

(actually quite excited despite vomiting!LOL!)

Can't really work out dates but think I might be 5 weeks tomorrow!

ChocolateEclair · 28/05/2008 11:41

oh willmouse - I'm so sorry you are going through this. I genuinely don;t know what to say

Shouldn't the doctor have asked you about family history of breast cancer and if you are ttc before giving this to you???? I don't want to say don't take it as I guess he wouldn't have given it to you if he didn't think you needed it, but it's your body and doctors don't know everything do they?

I hope someone else can give you better advice...I'm rubbish I'm afraid

BB - sorry the witch got you . I understand what you mean about thinking it's never going to happen, but I'm sure it will. Keep your chin up and remember each month brings new possibilities. As your doc rightly says, 5 months isn't that long, even though it feels like FOREVER!!!

soosy - any news on the time for tomorrow yet?

MrsPuddleduck · 28/05/2008 10:06

Hi all,

Well, I have been to the doctors and have been told (yet again) that it is probably hormonal. I have been given a prescription of Norethisterone (progesterone which stops bleeding). I have just been on the internet and it says not to take it if you are trying to conceive or trying to get pregnant. I am sat sobbing because I really don't want to take them (even though the chance is v v v v small) - perhaps is is hormonal then LOL! Also says on the internet not to take it if there is a history of breascancer (my Mum had this aged 37).

Perhaps I will see if the bleeding subsides again on its own. I think if it is hormonal I'd rather not take anything (DH will go nuts in which case as I have just wasted £7 on a prescription).

Dr told me today that CD1 is the first day that bleeding starts so I have been miscalculating for months. On that basis I am on about CD21 today and the bleeding started on CD16.

Oh God, I don't know what to do! What does everyone else think?

Right, I'm off to watch Emmerdale from last night and eat a couple of custard creams while I think things through.........

ok CD 1 is the first day of proper red bleeding, brown blood or spotting doesn't count, sorry!

A follicle is a little bubble of fluid on your ovary in which your egg matures and it literally pops out.(ovulation).

OPk's v HPT I think if you want a definitive answer you have to go with HPT, as an OPK could be either LH Surge or Pg.

I am too fascinated by the peeonastick site! Amazing what you can find out nowadays, in my parents day you waited two months before you were sure and then you handed in you urine sample to the doctor who sent it to a lab and they poured it on to the back of a frog!!!

My opk ((clearblue smileys!) I didn't go for the cheap option as really important I get it right and I don't use many.) says use early mornign urine, or not to pee for 4 hours before, which I haven't managed to do during the day since before I was PG with DS!!!

Willmouse get your doc to refer you to gynae. Is the blood bright red or brown? Would be more worried about red.

Mandy I would use them so you get to know when is a good time to........

MJIM I can't believe how pg you are this year has gone so quickly! Don't worry about the weight, especially if your midwife is not worried.

Love to everyone else will find out tomorrow what time transfer is.

Sx

ChocolateEclair · 27/05/2008 21:02

oh well done mandy - very brave . Glad it went well, you must have a fab DH! At least now you will feel that you are taking positive action...whatever it is you decide to do.

ceebee - sorry about the hair! thats awful! . Hope it looks OK in the morning Hair grows quite fast though doesn't it so will be a bit longer soon.

knax - keep holding out!

I'm off to bed xx

Mandy73 · 27/05/2008 20:48

Thanks Majormoo, CE & Ceebee!
Had a bottle of beer then the Big Talk.
DH approves, was sweet & rational about it all, saying 'But we haven't been trying THAT hard, right?' Eeeh, ok...

ceebee74 · 27/05/2008 19:45

Evening all

Mandy - I am also a 'late' ovulater - I conceived both DS and 'bump' on about CD 22/23 so it is definitely worth peeing on the sticks just to work out when you do ovulate. Also, my OPK's said not to use early morning wee but I think HPT's recommend that you do - very confusing!!

Willmouse - am worried about you too but you know how you feel better than us.

Am so looking forward to the Apprentice tonight although if anyone but either Michael or Helene goes, I might be tempted to throw something at Siralan!! Michael is a complete waste of space and I have no idea why he has lasted so long despite being a complete numpty!!

Had the afternoon off work as I had a hair appointment - only the hairdresser got a bit scissor happy It looks ok now as she straightened it but I normally wear it curly, which is it's natural state, so I hate to think how short it is going to look tomorrow morning once it is curly again!

ChocolateEclair · 27/05/2008 18:45

mandy - my DP was quite interested in the temp charts and pee sticks, but he said he had to draw the line at cervical mucus! (definetly TMI and a big turn off!). Sometimes think things might have been easier not telling him it was the fertile time and just trying to seduce him!! pmsl!

majormoo · 27/05/2008 18:39

Juanitad I did not realise it was on tonight so thanks very much for reminding me

Soosy hope all goes well for Friday.

HM2J My sister is expecting a baby late September and has also had lots of pulling pains but they have also told her not to worry and the baby is fine. Hope you manage to relax soon.

Willmouse how are you now? Hope bleeding stops. My DD is 4 by the way, nearly 5. Dreadful I know, this southern attitude to 'THE NORTH'. I grew up in Essex and had not been anywhere much in the UK until I went to uni in Leeds.

Knax good luck with holding off.

Mandy hope the OPK helps. Guess it depends on the brand when you use it. I have not charted or anything, but if I had my DH would be totally disinterested. I mentioned I had bought an OPK once, and he said he did not want to know. Think he found it a big turn off.

CE well yes, tired is the way forward for the rest of your life now. Make use of those long weekend lie ins.

MJIM I have never bothered weighing myself in pregnancy, but am sure the doctors/midwife would notice if there was a problem. For example my sister was found to have ketones in her urine which meant she needed to eat more (although she was eating loads). Women who have hypermes-what ever it is called-that really bad sickness condition-still deliver healthy babies and they cannot put much weight on at all.

Mandy73 · 27/05/2008 18:14

I hope Michael Sophocles goes, he's such a rat!!

Totally!
So many of them are former actors/extras/stage people though, just there to 'play a part', stir things up & make good TV. I suspect he is one...

Thanks again for all the brilliant advice & encouragement.

juanitad · 27/05/2008 18:05

Hi all,

Feeling a bit more human today after a nice lie-in this morning. Have spent the day with my BF and her 12-week old baby (the one that was born on mother's day). She is soooo lovely, and a really good baby - here's hoping I get one of those!

Don't forget it's the Apprentice tonight. I hope Michael Sophocles goes, he's such a rat!!

Knax · 27/05/2008 16:32

Sorry Mandy I think I cocked up with my last message to you by not reading previous posts properly!
Thanks willmouse and CE.
