Hi Queenie, I totally agree about own instinct, I new before I had tested with other pregnancy. As for me taking over from Heron I think you should take the lead,I like the idea of an updated list,go for it.

queenie1 · 28/05/2008 17:42

LMD, or little (not sure what to call you?)...good to hear you are in same situation. Lets keep hand holding and hope we both have some joy soon.

Like you, I do smoke from time to time (esp when AF is here as 'why the hell not' etc) - something I took up again after my first miscarriage...good response eh? Plan to knock it on the head (again) once I stop bleeding. I also drink more than I should, but just figure that once I get PG I'll stop and, like you, I think nun-like behaviour may lead to more stress on myself. As you say, why put life on hold? (Not like we are obsessed at the moment!!!?!).

I do hope you have a successful month, but saying that I'm a great believer in instinct about all this. Lets hope for your BFP . But if not I'll see you for an online consolatory glass of wine and cigarette ...and then we can plot about next month.

To everyone else - with or without LMD next month (lets hope not as we are waiting for that BFP), are we all here to hand hold and wine glug together? Where are you all with your cycles? From reading past posts, shouldn't we start putting up refreshed lists?

To get everyone going, I'm CD2 (of cycle anything between 25 and 40 days!) So lots of BDing and waiting to go...

LMD - believe you are good at this. Want to take charge in Heron's pregnancy absence / graduation??

xx

littlemissdaisy · 28/05/2008 17:17

Hi Queenie, I'm glad you feel the same its so confusing isn't it, with regards to advice, I am in a similar situation, I have just got a clearblue fertilty monitor to see if that helps at all, but having read the advice, its not recommended to be used if you take clomid, but we are gonna give it ago anyway, I have been day counting for months but my cycles can be quote erratic, avereging around 33 days. I do take Folic acid daily, but other than that not a lot else, I have the occasional drink and if I am totally honest smoke more thatn I should, however I have no problems stopping when I do get the BFP's (to little to late maybe) but you can't put your life on hold and live like a nun. I am on CD38 today still no AF don't even feel like its on its way, I did a HPT on Saturday which was a BFN, I have a team building event with work on Saturday at Go Ape, swing through trees and stuff on harnesses so planning on testing again on Fri, I am sure I am not Pregnant this month as Clomid was ruled out this cycle by Gynae as I had a CP last month, but its better to be safe than sorry.

queenie1 · 28/05/2008 16:57

On a different note, can I have some advice please dear online friends...

Given that we are having such a torrid time trying to conceive am thinking about fertility / ovulation monitoring. Not something I have done - just day counted and worked on vaginal mucus (tmi?)...am going to see doctor next week to see if they can do blood / hormone tests etc to see why I can't manage to keep a baby, but want to make sure I'm also doing everything I can to get one.

Don't know the first thing about ovulation monitoring though. Do you think its a good idea? If so, how does it work? And how would I go about doing this?

Trying to use my AF days positively planning for next month. Presumably I should also give up drinking, take folic acid tablets and move into a convent that allows nightly visits from DH???

If any of you have any advice...

queenie1 · 28/05/2008 16:49

Don't even talk to me about being a bitch. All around me friends are conceiving and while 'pleased' I can't help feeling bitter, jealous and annoyed.

LMD, I think it is entirely normal and natural to have thoughts like yours towards people you know (particularly when you don't like them!)...isn't it great to be able to vent this here though so that you can keep up the public facade!!

littlemissdaisy · 28/05/2008 15:55

OK, I need to get something off my chest, I need to say this on here because if I said it out loud in the real world it would be even worse!! You will all probably think I am a bitch cos I do!!! OK here goes.... my DH's friend and his wife are having IFV, they are not particularly nice people IMO and today she had a negative result for the second time, Okay this is the bad bit I am glad, god thats awful! is it natural to have this feeling or am I complete bitch, you can tell me. I feel that I should have a bond with her as we are both going through similar things, I don't know how I should feel..... somebody tell me please

ohjoy · 28/05/2008 15:07

hi knax, thanks bean is holding in there

hi queenie, sorry about AF, but at least now you're going to get looked after/taken seriously by your doc. docs! they can be so difficult!

hi little, fingers crossed for you...

queenie1 · 28/05/2008 08:45

Thanks - much more blood this morning though so I'd say the game is up. Good thing is that the doctor has actually acknowledged this as a possible chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage and, as this would be my third, is considering next steps. Feels positive because I feel I am being taken seriously / looked after...

Wanted to say too that I've got my fingers crossed for you littlemissdaisy...is this really late for you?

x

Knax · 27/05/2008 22:33

Thinking of you queenie, hope all goes well in next week!
Axx

queenie1 · 27/05/2008 22:23

Hi all - I'm still loitering too...day 41 now...faint positive yesterday morning but still have light spotting (brown) so went to doctor's again today. Doctor thinks I either am or have been PG so been told to come back in a week. The spotting will either stop and maybe I will be PG, or (and I fear more likely) it will develop into a full on bleed...trying not to feel too down, but not easy...

Knax · 27/05/2008 22:18

Hi Littlemiss, as there's no AF there's still hope. I'll keep everything crossed for you. I'm on CD 28, and hoping no AF on her way!
Hi to everyone else too!
Who else is waiting?
x

littlemissdaisy · 27/05/2008 20:24

Hi Guys I'm still loitering, CD37 today no AF and no BFP

Knax · 27/05/2008 19:41

thanks for info heron.
hope you and bean ok!

Heron23 · 27/05/2008 18:15

hi knax, sorry to say but i think the faint line is the level of leutenizing hormone in your urine. there is always a low amount of LH in your system. the thing is, HCG and LH look very similar to the persona test stick. if you are pregnant, then testing using the persona test stick should give you the same result as when you get the LH surge (prior to ovulation).

as i am a test addict (!) i used a ovulation test stick (clearblue fertility monitor) and got 2 dark lines, as per what i get prior to ovulation.

apparently, persona and clearblue fertility monitors use the same sticks.

in short, only pregnancy test sticks will tell you for sure if you are pregnant or not.

good luck

OP posts:
Knax · 27/05/2008 14:57

Hi everyone,
silly persona question that someone may know the answer to... Although I'm not using a pg test stick yet because I'm resisting, I did just use a persona stick for some reason, as I thought it may test the same hormone?! It had a 2nd fainter line on it and I am hoping that may be a good sign, but as it's not a pg testing kit but an ov testing kit it probably isn't. I know, i know, I'm kidding myself in testing using a non-pg testing kit. blush It's almost as barmy as peeing on a cotton bud (I haven't done that by the way!)

beckmo · 27/05/2008 11:42

And congratulations Ohjoy- just read through last weeks posts. Thanks everyone and good luck x

beckmo · 27/05/2008 11:15

Queenie good luck. Must be hard not knowing and I'm not surprised you are confused.

queenie1 · 27/05/2008 08:42

Thanks for your messages of support. Was going to test again this morning but forgot to stick test in my pee!!! Oh well.

Still very light brown spotting but no more. Will see how / if it progresses over the next few days.

Today DH my concerns and he got really cross with me saying I wasn't pregnant and that I shouldn't get myself excited for nothing. I half know he's right, but this has just been the weirdest of cycles...If no AF by Friday, will test again and go to the doctors...will keep you posted.

ohjoy · 27/05/2008 07:49

queenie, another thought : any chance of you getting a beta hcg blood test from your doctor? a blood test will tell you for sure what is going on !

ohjoy · 27/05/2008 07:48

hi queenie, fingers crossed for you!

you are probably already doing this: make sure you test using your first morning urine. good luck!!!!

Knax · 26/05/2008 18:52

keeping fingers crossed it's implantation spotting queenie!
