Hey!

TTC our 2nd been putting it off for a while but this month I’m going to be actively trying and testing LH etc
reading other posts feels as though everyone is already in there TWW this Aug 😂 so looking for company, anyone whose still waiting for their ovulation week.

I only used BBT when falling pregnant with my first but haven’t being doing it as regularly as I did back then.
Ive been trying to take my temp the past couple of weeks and natural cycles predicting ovulation on Weds!
what’s everyone plan of attack? 😂 I’m going to use LH strips from tomorrow onwards and as soon as I get my peak start DTD! Very sceptical it’ll happen this month with it being the first official month of trying but we shall see!
Hoping for some company if anyone is at a similar stage in their cycle?

I caved and took a test this morning 10dpo 🙈 of course it was negative! Stark white. This is what happens when you have tests in the house 😂 the girls that are holding out till af keep going! Next time I will not buy any till the day before af due, that’s my temptation when I’ve got them in the house! 😂

but anyway I know it’s still early and we’ll just see what happens. I feel like I’ve got nothing this month, I keep comparing symptoms to my first and apart from a few things I’m like I don’t think it’s happened so haven’t really got my hopes up.

@Itonlytakesone how you feeling this morning? I normally have a heavy tummy when I’m due on. Last time I was pregnant I was getting like growing pains or like dull pains in my legs and lower groin? Don’t know if that help.

how’s everyone else?

We’ve factored in daycare for kids too and we’ve been saving for ages and have a really good buffer. It’s the thought of daycare for dogs whilst on maternity leave e.g. in the 3 months unpaid that seems a bit bonkers as I doubt I could be at home all day with 2 dogs that are under 2 and a baby without at least using doggy daycare to some extent.

daycare for kids and for the dogs we’ve considered but I’d likely go very part time/be a SAHM but if we need to fork out £1k a month for doggy daycare and £2/3/4k for child daycare we’ll just have to suck it up and use savings

CosmoMango · 24/09/2024 14:33

I’ll try not to get downhearted! Our current dog is only 1 so he will grow up with them too @Mama09876 I think nearly a grand on daycare for 2 dogs if we do get pregnant though could be a bit silly but we will make it work (we also have 13 other pets so we’re used to chaos).
We’ve had a chat and decided if it happens this month/next month we won’t take the dog as we’ll be 12 weeks when they’re born giving the breeder time to contact someone else on the waiting list and we will hopefully have had a scan etc. If we get pregnant after then we have something to look forward to (the puppy) to take the pressure off.

I’m going to buy a better Apple Watch and also probably hand my notice in and look for a better job/have a few months off if I don’t get pregnant before new year. If I do get pregnant I will stick it out for 6 months full pay maternity plus 3 further months enhanced pay as it seems silly not to so I suppose we have a plan going forward.

I think because this was my time off work during my suppose fertile window @Mama09876 and I hoped I could go back and say I was pregnant to get a risk assessment to keep me safe. Now I feel like something will happen at work again. I think I will invest in the new Apple Watch.

I keep putting my life on hold just in case but now we’re at a really difficult point. We were meant to get a 2nd pup this summer but the mother didn’t come into season (maybe a bad omen for my fertility too). This would mean pup would be about 1 year at least by the time a baby was here. Now pup isn’t due to come home until February and we can’t decide whether to take him or not. If we don’t get pregnant it would be a lovely distraction, he can come to work with me and I’ll have a little buddy. Our other pup goes to daycare and won’t settle at work but I thought I’d take this one from really early on and it’ll be someone to accompany me during my lunch time crying session and get me out in some fresh air. However if we do take him and then get pregnant we may end up with a puppy AND a baby. We’d make it work and I’d be escatatic to have a baby but may need doggy daycare at points so need to factor in £800-900 a month for this. I think a lot of the worry is just my job to be honest, a maternity would give me a year ‘break’ and the chance to look for something else/ choose not to go back

Hopefully I just missed my peak @LuckyDuck93 if not I hope AF comes without delay.

Of course you did say with your job! Completely understand. You never no you might of caught it? It’s really difficult for some ladies to catch the peak it can happen really quickly! And if you’ve only just started bbt that takes a while to get use to and the algorithm on the app.

I completely understand the cost of day care etc factors in we’ve waited a bit to factor in two child in nursery/free hours but that being said as I’ve got older and had my first I’ve realised there’s never a right time and I wouldn’t put your life on hold, whatever happens you just make it work! Just think the puppy could grow up with the baby 🥰 it would be a lot of hard work but I bet you’d make it work whatever happens! Don’t get to down hearted.

Could I have ovulated super early maybe? And the cramps are period cramps? Who knows. I am so confused and down about it all. I wish I never took that pregnacare. I feel like this was our chance and now it’s gone and it just won’t happen now. I’m worried my cycle will never go back to normal. I have bloods booked to confirm I’m ovulating (have been in the past) but going to do it next month as this one is just a crazy cycle.

You definitely could've just missed your peak with the strips, a few months ago I didn't find the peak with strips for a couple of months, but my BBT shot up so I know I definitely ovulated, it sounds like you've DTD enough to be covered too!

Mama09876 · 24/09/2024 11:27

@CosmoMango aww its hard to not get downhearted but you’ve done a lot over what could of been your fertile window. Maybe you could just of missed peak/ovulation. Only other thing I could think of of the sperm meets egg that a few ladies take about and just DTD every other day? To try catch it you have missed.

why do you feel it won’t happen now? You’ll still have a chance next month & you never know you might of caught it this month!

The new Apple Watch tracks temperature now! You can link it to natural cycles I know that.

CosmoMango · 24/09/2024 10:45

I wonder if I should trade my Apple Watch in and get one that does temperature tracking @Mama09876 it might end up more helpful than trying to use the thermometer and also more practical than the armbands as I use my Apple Watch 24/7

I don’t usually do BBT @Mama09876 as I find it doesn’t really give me good readings as I often get up for the toilet but I might consider a temp drop band or something. I usually go off just LH and physiological signs

This has been my problem this month! Been up and down in the night with my LO so I think that’s why my bbt is all over the place!

keep going with the LH. You’re doing amazing DTD every day!! Take my hat off to you guys!

Mama09876 · 24/09/2024 10:41

These are mine from when I was pregnant (the Fitbit) and now with Apple Watch.

I’d need to re read the posts from here cause I can’t quite remember the detail but I’m sure there is normally a dip or spike (can’t remember which way round) around ovulation. Then after implantation it tends to increase.

just in case any one else wants something else to follow/stress over 🙈

My RHR has also increased but can’t take that as a sign as I don’t think I ovulated. It’s probably stress

@CosmoMango do the bbt chart saying yojr ovulation on 16th is that based on previous months? They just predicted?

All very strange for you! I do think your tests look like they’re getting darker!

See i may even suggest maybe ovulation around CD20? Your nighttime LH test is defo darkest wonder if you missed peak over night? Then there is a dip on the CD21 and increases the day after? Possibly ovulation?
only thing I’d say is normally the bbt stays high after ovulation but mine hadn’t this month either.

No joy @Mama09876
I still have these cramps/heaviness/stretching that is so odd and quite uncomfortable. Been feeling very sick the last two nights also. I think it must be pregnacare messing with me. Added the tests and chart although the chart isn’t much help when I started CD17

@LuckyDuck93 i know it’s just another thing to watch 😂🙈 and stress over! Haha. I just find it quite interesting as well to be honest.
i’ve just compared my rhr now compared to my first and it’s followed a similar trend! 😳 I need to stop now 😂
im just getting to the point in my cycle 9 dpo where it gets intense 😂😂 where I start thinking all sorts and reading in to all the signs! Really trying my hardest to ignore.

but to be honest I don’t feel any different so deep down I kinda think it hasn’t happened this month.

LuckyDuck93 · 24/09/2024 09:59

@Mama09876 wow, i'd never have thought of that, I'll be keeping an eye on mine now 😅
Yeah I don't want to read too much into it, but I can also feel myself getting my hopes up too, I think I preferred the months when I was too busy to think about it 😂

Itonlytakesone · 24/09/2024 09:55

@LucyLou0527 yeah mine ended in mc too so I shouldn't compare either🙈

Mama09876 · 24/09/2024 09:43

@LuckyDuck93 this was my rhr when I was pregnant. You can see it increase at about 8 then from 10dpo it increased till I took a test at 13 dpo.

@Itonlytakesone that’s it keep positive thinking!! Still early days and still a chance! And you @LucyLou0527 not over till af arrives it might be that you just show on tests later than others.

With my pregnancy last year I didn’t get a positive until 14DPO but I don’t know if it’s right to compare to that as ended in MC😫

@Mama09876 it was an immediately obvious line (I'll see if I can find it to attach..) so I feel like It's sort of making me feel like I possibly could test earlier this time🤭 it was 11 days after peak so I guess I was 10DPO (tracked only by OPK, not BBT).

There was defo no denying that! That’s the kinda line I need to see if i test 😂 no squinting to ruin my head 😂

@Mama09876 I'm not really feeling much different to be honest, although I am a bit crampy and bloated this morning, sometimes I can't work out if I'm just feeling things that aren't there though! Temp has been stable all week, like waaay more than usual and hasn't really fluctuated by more than 0.1 degrees, until today when it's gone up, again, probably reading into that 😂
Well I had no idea that was even a thing, although mine does seem to be staying exactly the same. Do you think you'll test before your holiday? I'm trying to stay strong until the weekend!

This is really positive signs!! I’ve got a good feeling for you! I thought I was much hotter than normal this morning than realise my heating came on by mistake 🤣🤣 I was like why am I so hot! Getting my hopes up.
the RHR thing it was only something I was reading about last time I was pregnant and it did go up after ‘implantation’ around 7/8 dpo and kept going up. Apparently there is correlation on increased rhr and early pregnancy. Mines gone up again today but I’m not reading to much in to it either! 🙈
my temp is still ok and high but again not reading to much in to that cause it happened last month then dipped the day before af.

if I was going away I would defo wait till I’m due on! But other half isn’t coming away with us cause of work so if it is positive I kinda want to show him in person rather than on FaceTime 😂

@LucyLou0527 oh no it's so deflating isn't it🥺
@Possumly that test from your previous preg is an obvious line for 11dpo iv got a good feeling for you this time too, you seem to catch easily. @Mama09876 I think a cheeky little test pre holiday at 11 is a great idea.

I'm still bfn however last time I got a Bfp at 8dpo however I conceived cycle day 10. This time it was cycle day 11 so in my head tomorrow I'll get my bfp🤣 iv got cramping again now after a walk must be the blood flow. Trying to think positively Smile
