Thought it was time for a new thread - we're almost out of room on the original one

Hi Ready- actually I think I just need some words of comfort from you ladies- I too went past the 12 month milestone a couple of months ago- now on about 14 months TTC, and am really finding that this month, it is all a bit much! I found out that I have to have a colposcopy for another abnormal smear (mild abnormality) next week, and I think that coupled with the gynacologist appointment for a possible laparoscopy that I'm waiting for is all a bit too much this week! I'm very tearful and anxious today, and as DP is away at the mo, and I don't feel I can really vent too much with my RL friends (they have had me on the phone in tears many a month!) I would really appreciate a chat on here with you guys!

Ready · 06/05/2008 17:10

Jess, it's funny, I was thinking about how you were getting on, and then you popped in. Spooky.

EachPeach, I go in 4 weeks, I am so excited I could pop
Don't feel bad about complaining, if I recall, 12 months ttc does feel like a milestone. I think it is because you read so often that "most couples conceive within the first 12 months" and until you reach that point you keep believing you will too. I am sorry you reached 12 months, hang in there won't you. You are not alone and we will all get there, somehow! For me, MN can be a source of comfort when feeling low about it all, but also it can exacerbate the feelings of failure - so be careful what threads you read . Oh, and don't bottle it up, if you haven't got anyone in RL to vent to, go for it on here

Evergrounded, was it me specifically you wanted to talk to about ivf? I know very little and there are more knowledgeable ladies than me. Hope you are ok?

EachPeachPearPlum · 06/05/2008 15:10

Hi everyone - hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend. We had lovely weather here!

Feeling a bit crap about FTC at the moment. Does anyone have any good tips on how to cope? Some months seem to be better than others, but this month I've been particularly stressed out. Maybe because it's month 12 so it feels like a bit of a milestone. I know it's a lot less than some of you so I feel bad about complaining but hope its ok...

Ready - it's great that you've been able to forget about TTC for a while. When's your holiday?

kd73 - congratulations on the heartbeat!

How is everyone else doing? It's been quiet on here.

Hi evergrounded anything I can help with?

OP posts:
evergrounded · 05/05/2008 20:31

hello? anyone there?

evergrounded · 05/05/2008 20:22

Hi- evergrounded here- wanted to bump this as I wanted to chat to you- Ready- about the whole IVF thing. We have been ttc for about 14 months now- no success- DP has done semen analysis- came back normal, I've had blood tests, all normal, but am now waiting for a referall appointment with a gynacologist to check for endometriosis and PCOS. Have been looking into IVF and it's scaring me silly- feel really anxious about the future and possibility of having a biological family at the moment!

jess1996 · 05/05/2008 15:42

I just thought I'd pop in and say congratulations to kd73. Fingers crossed that everything continues to go well.

Hello to everyone else.

Ready · 05/05/2008 15:12

Oh? I have missed out on a fair bit haven?t I. Sorry about my absence ladies, I have missed you all ? but I haven?t felt too good, hoping I am on the mend now, and also, feel a little bit fraudulent coming on MN at the moment? we are not really thinking about ttc at the moment ? we are looking forward to our holiday and so the thermometer is gathering dust, and whilst we are not trying to prevent a pregnancy, we are not stressing about it ? if any of that makes sense?

I am sitting here munching away of my new favourite thing? frozen bananas. I read somewhere that you could eat them frozen, and thought I would give it a go because I had 4 bananas that I was going to bin otherwise as they were over-ripe ? and oh my word, frozen is the way forward

Kd, I am so happy that your bleeding has settled, and you got to see the heartbeat flickering away. Wonderful news. Of course you would prefer more monitoring, but fortnightly is still good. Hang in there

Nomore, glad I was not the only one who welled up at Frank?s goal celebration. Have to say, I couldn?t go with Frank as a name because I immediately think of FrankGallagher from Shameless

Rah, I am sorry that you can?t get the future treatments out of your head ? it must be so frustrating having to wait after you have been having treatments, but do try to take some time out just for you (and dh)

Gilly, it looks like you might be in for treatment when I go away on my hols, I so hope that everything runs smoothly and you will be full of pregnancy symptoms upon my return

Herbaceous, how are you doing? Did you get a copy of the letter your gp is going to send to the adoption people yet? Or am I too far ahead of myself here? Hope you are well?

Rattling and LondonLottie, long time no see, flowers!! How are you? Everything ok?

Eachpeach, hope you are ok too?

Oh no? who have I missed?? Please shout at me for forgetting, it?s terribly rude of me

kd73 · 02/05/2008 22:28

Franks as good a name as any

Gilly hope you have a good weekend in Dorset

Rah 19 sleeps fingers crossed for you

No More - Respect to Frank! (although I keep thinking of the Boxer and tomato ketchup ad )

KD fantastic news..When is your next scan? Wow your going to get a fab collection of scans

Gilly - My cycle shortened slightly as I would go up to 21 days before ovulating. With clomid it was 15-16 days, so made my cycle more regular and 'standard'. I did do 16 days myself before clomid, but it was not regular, where the clomid seemed to regulate me...

I'm OK thanks KD.... Just trying to focus on not TTC, but secretly can't get it out might head, but the consultants appointment is on 22nd May, so hopefully we will know then when IVF will start.

minxi - thanks Minxi... at having to pay...grrrrrr... adds more to the stress! & No Oak Table!

Hello to everyone else.... whats everyone up to over the bank holiday? (apart from babymaking )

nomoremagnolia · 02/05/2008 10:40

Wonderful wonderful news *KD8 so for you. Will keep praying for you that it all goes smoothly too.
gilly I was told the Clomid would make my cycles about 26-30 days, mine were 27. Are you taking the tablets on days 2-6? I'm expecting the egg coll/emby transfer in the w/b the bank hol mon (26/5) so we'll be going through things together
PS I vote for calling him Frank - I cried when he scored and dedicated it to his Mum

Hi All

So I went for the scan expecting the worst and ... they found a little heartbeat flickering away I can't blicking believe it. I have gone on the Spin trial, but it is only fortnightly monitoring, which I am a little disappointed about but its better than nothing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies for your positive thoughts .

Gilly & no more good luck with your egg collections

Rah How are you fairing?

Herb Hope your feeling better and the ear infections disappeared.

Gilly - what a lovely story and I am honoured to think I am attached to your prayer.

The bleeding has settled, which of course I am delighted about but at only 6wks I am far from out of the woods. Hopefully at the EPAU tomorrow they will offer the "spin" trial where I will receive fortnightly scans and / or aspirin and heparin for daily injections.

Thanks for your concern ladies!

Rah I know I know I am not supposed to be on this thread but I wanted to say thank you for writing all that stuff down about iui... I am off to see the consultant again tomorrow and I think 3 years down the line I am going to discuss alternative methods like IUi so it was a brilliant insight into what to expect etc!! I'm sorry your still going through it all but glad to see you have an ivf appointment set up. Unfortunately we will have to do everything privately as have 2 ds already but hey ho - I have been trying long enough to faff about now! Will just have to forego my oak table and chairs for a year or so or otherwise just buy a chair a year Hope you are okay

RahRah1 · 30/04/2008 10:55

KD - hope the bleeding settles down... your right why is nothing easy! Grrrr
But two of my friends are pregnant at the moment and they have both had bleeding, so I think its very common and both their bubs are growing well.

nomoremagnolia · 30/04/2008 07:53

kd Hope everything's ok, still got everything crossed for you (and still praying this one stays put)

kd73 · 29/04/2008 19:19

Just a quick update, I have first scan (6+4) on Thursday am and also hospital will discuss a trial with me due to previous miscarriages.

Hopefully things will be ok but I have had a bit of a bleed over the last few days
