I went for my appointment on Thursday with our new consultant and we have been accepted for an NHS funded IVF. We are starting our first cycle in Sept and have a meeting booked in with the clinic in August for all the info. They actually said I could start in 2 weeks, but my DH really needs some space and time to relax and wanted to start in Oct, but I talked him down to Sept, but I totally agree with him, so we have a few holidays booked and did not want to cancel them. I'm doing IVF plus blastocyst culture as they only want to use one embryo due to my past history of prem labour. They also found something in my bloods that could explain extra bleeding, but does not explain the clots and are doing more tests on that. Something to do with my white blood cells and also she thinks that I suffer from alot of anovulatory cycles, which they can tell from my response with the natural IUI cycles and the changes noticed from clomid IUI. She feels this is why it takes me longer to get pregnant and is a symptom of PCO. So we got a few answers and a clear plan and are very happy with the outcome. She said it is hardwork getting a good embryo for the blastocyst but has a much higher success rate than normal IVF when they get a viable embryo. Normal IVF at their clinic is 24-30% and with the treatment they are giving us its 50% and decreases our changes of a multiple significantly. We feel like there is some light at the end of the tunnel... Fingers crossed hey!
Anyway, hope everyone is ok we are away in Wales for next week, so will catch up on my return. Love Rah Xx
