TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

9dpo today. Negative test so far but I have a bit of blood today. Period isn't due for another 5 days so a little concerned that the new vitamins have caused a short lutual phase and period is on its way. Never had an implantation bleeds so unsure if that is what is happening.
I did have suspected thrush last week on holiday and used some cream I got in turkey. Got some canesten arriving today but I am not having discharge any more. Not sure if the blood is thrush related so seems unlikely if having no other symptoms

Fingers crossed it’s implantation bleeding.
my BBT has dropped massively the last 2 days so I suspect AF will arrive tomorrow, which is what usually happens.

Figtree11 · 14/10/2024 14:45

@Mummysparrow i hope it’s good news & not your period

Mummysparrow · 14/10/2024 14:37

@Figtree11 it's not a lot. Just red/pink on wiping

Figtree11 · 14/10/2024 14:28

@Mummysparrow was it much blood? I’ve had implantation bleeding just once, but for me it was really light, and only happened once. But know for others it can be a lot more.

3dpo for me today

@EmTTC2 Huge congratulations to you. Prayers for a sticky bean xxxxx

Thanks @moosey89 I’m pretty tired of the irregular cycles. I’ve told myself after the end of this cycle, I’ll make a GP appt. Also have my recurrent miscarriage appointment end of next month which is making me feel a bit better.

I’m sorry you’re feeling down, I agree about baby loss awareness week, I see it a lot on instagram so does make me reflect and think ‘this time last year’ as I was about 5 weeks pregnant. It’s difficult

It’s so hard when you think about where you’d be now with a baby. I was out for a family birthday meal the other night, and I kept thinking if my first baby made it, it would be there in its pushchair. Yet there I was with my glass of wine!

Oh that’s good that you’re 3dpo - we can survive the TWW together!

moosey89 · 12/10/2024 07:59

@Figtree11 sorry you're having a difficult week, but good that you finally ovulated, that must have been so frustrating - as it's Baby Loss Awareness Week I spend this week every year in a very reflective state so I feel a bit down.

I also helped out my neighbour doing the school run for her 4 year old and couldn't help thinking that if my first baby had survived, that would be my routine. Made me feel sad how much time has passed whilst trying to start a family.

I'm 3DPO today so we have a similar 2ww coming up xx

Figtree11 · 12/10/2024 07:54

Hi everyone, I’ve been a bit quiet on here so there’s too many posts for me to catch up individually on. I hope everyone is doing ok.

Im now 1dpo, finally ovulated on CD34. 5.5 months after most recent loss and still no regularity to my cycles.
Have been feeling ok, mostly just trying to get on with life but with loss & TTC consuming my daily thoughts. Had a wobble with this week with 2 more pregnancy announcements from people I know

This was me back in 2020 - one missed miscarriage and another anembryonic pregnancy. I was also worried I would never go full term. My LO just turned 3 this week - I’m sending positive vibes that your story is similar to mine!
We are trying for a sibling but have just had another loss - I sometimes feel it would be easier if you could make sense if it all, but it feels so random. My main comfort is that it isn’t anything we are doing wrong - I hold on to that hope so I don’t beat myself up over things I ciuld have done differently! X

I am sorry for your two losses and I was stuck in the limbo for 5 months. Thank you for sharing your story and it was the randomness I couldn't accept. I kept doing tests for 5 months and at the end there is really nothing wrong with my body. I decided to let it go and I am learning to be a bit more positive every day. It has been helping me so far. I hope you are and will always be hopeful! x

EmTTC2 · 11/10/2024 18:45

Have you had any tests to look in to any possible reason for your losses? Sometimes they just happen. It doesn't make it any easier though.

My cousin fell pregnant with twins. Unfortunately, she went in to early labour at 24 weeks pregnant. One lived for 3 days & one lived for 8 days. She then fell pregnant with twins again & lost them the day before her 12 week scan. She then fell pregnant with twins again who are now 18. She then had a single boy who is now 14. She then had another loss & then one more girl who is now three. Sometimes it just isn't meant to be & the next one suddenly sticks. We just need to live in hope

I have done all kinds of tests such as fertility tests, female hormone screening, general health check up and two ultrasounds to see if my body was not good for pregnancy in some ways. I kept doing the tests between March and August and I even let my hubby do sperm analysis until I finally gave up because all test results showed that there was nothing wrong with my body. I kept finding causes of the two early losses and became obsessed with doing lots of tests. Then I realised that it was not emotionally healthy and I had to let it go. It has been really difficult especially my first two BFPs ended up in losses. That is why I can understand the OP a bit because mine is like nothing compared to hers then she said that every loss mattered even the early losses.
I do believe everyone here is really brave and strong because they still have the courage to embrace pregnancy. They are superwomen. Your cousin is one of them and I am glad that she kept going after losses. Sometimes I just wish I could be more hopeful and I am really trying to be positive every day.

I am relieved to know that you still feel confident that your body is cable. You have a better attitude than me. My confidence has been affected greatly by two early losses and so far I have no living children. As you can imagine, it is still a bit difficult for me to believe my body is capable of carrying a full term viable pregnancy.

@Fletchasketch oh this sounds so promising!! When will you test?
I totally get not wanting to know if it’s a chemical though. We had a Chemical in July i didn’t test early we were 3 days late, I wish I hadn’t gotten excited though. I have everything crossed for you!!!

@Ella31 12 weeks already! That’s gone so fast! Wow. Have you had your scan yet? early pregnancy is such a worrying time, sorry it’s a bit rough. oh and with the added pain of your twins birthday! I just can’t imagine :(

@EmTTC2 congratulations! I hope it’s a sticky one!

@CadoAvo exciting! Hope it all goes well, and at least you’re on holiday during the TWW so you have a huge distraction.

@Ncl31 Oh thanks I assumed it would be a long wait because the GP said most couple get pregnancy while waiting for the referral…
im not sure if there’s anything they will actually do for us though as we already have a 3 year old. I just worry that because we have had no pregnancies at all since TTC this time apart from a chemical back in July that’s I am now unable to conceive.

They should still offer you tests I’m pretty sure of that. Then give you private options to pay for; that’s what they’ve done for us. DH has a son to a previous marriage even though we don’t get to see him we still have to pay.

I'm still tracking BBT. I'm just waiting for it to drop. I keep watching line progression too, terrified that it will disappear. I did 4 tests yesterday & 1 today. I'm not going to test tomorrow & just enjoy being pregnant for as long as it lasts. I have one son who is almost 7, so my body is capable x

"Keep waiting for another loss" - that is understandable and it also breaks my heart a bit but please have more faith in your body. I was like you and it didn't help me at all. Because I became anxious and scared, I even continued to measure BBT and RHR, and even became obsessed about the line progression (testing twice a day). Please don't do what I did. Be positive and I know it is hard to believe it yet but you will eventually believe that it is actually happening. x

Hi! I have avoided being on these threads for a few weeks. Lost my fourth in Feb and fifth in June and decided to take a break from it all. Back now with my fragmin, aspirin and cylogest. Fingers and toes crossed it all goes well. Resuming TTC later this month

Sorry for your losses 🤍

I too had two early losses in March and April. So it must be scary and exciting at the same time for you to get a bfp. Congratulations and try to concentrate on the things you enjoy!

I've been quiet recently but still checking in on the thread. Had a month off last month and currently in my fertile window, ovulation should hopefully happen this weekend/early next week. Then we are off on a sunny holiday in 2 weeks 🥳

A familiar name! How are you?
