TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

@MisssMarion that’s how I feel, and obviously I don’t know if they’ve had difficulties conceiving or not, but it just feels so unfair. I can push away my thoughts on how I’m feeling sometimes, but it then just all comes back to me seeing announcement posts with scan pictures

Another pregnancy announcement from someone at work. Anyone else feel like it’s constant. I am regularly muting people on instagram

I've had to unfollow a number of accounts on instagram when they announced they were expecting their second... It was the best thing to do for self preservation. I was getting envious and upset with them that they had it so easy (without knowing anything about their stories of course). Do what's right for you, there's nothing wrong there!

@Ella31 your uterus is fit for growing a bambino 💓 how was the progesterone? I think mine may be all over with the spotting. I think I have to wait 6 months from last pregnancy which I presume will be my chemical, but if I've not caught by then, I'm going to request mine to be checked.

Had the retest done today so won't know till Monday.
6 months? I'd imagine after 2 months you'd be ok. I think it takes about 6 weeks for hormones to regulate after early losses. I'd say you'll be fine. I had no issues with mine after my two miscarriages. And I'm hoping today's test will be the same.

I had cramps yesterday but ok today. I love definitely lost the hope aspect but I'm going to keep reminding myself the shock when i got my positive before. It can happen. On the funnier side, the doctor and midwife kept telling me yesterday what a lovely uterus and ovaries I have 😂😂😂😂 whatever the hell that means. 😂

How are you today? It's so varied though. I had ranging symptoms on all three of my pregnancies

Edited

What a compliment 😂 it definitely can happen ❤️

@Ella31 Trying to hold out until Tuesday. How did you get on today? I thought my cycle was different to last month but I've checked symptoms to last month and pretty much like for like at the moment other than very light pink discharge at 3 and 4dpo and boobs feeling heavier. How you feeling? Xxx

6dpo for me, nothing to report other than boobs feel heavier and cramps last night but that's just normal hormonal changes I think this early on. I feel 'different' but i felt that last month and nothing came of it. Just trying to wait patiently but of course that never works. 😆 Going to distract myself over the weekend with the airshow being in town and hopefully good weather 👌

I'm 7dpo. When will you test?

No news from me. I don’t think I actually did ovulate so not following any DPO. Just going to carry on trying without tracking & then maybe in a few weeks I’ll start testing once a week or something

Ella31 · 09/08/2024 09:25

7dpo today. Bfn lol😅🤣 bit early I know. Had repeat blood today for progesterone. Won't know till Monday.

How's everyone else?

OP posts:
Onthedouble123 · 09/08/2024 09:12

@Ella31 I hope your repeat test shows good numbers. But I really do think it should be an easy fix- I've been on progesterone suppositories twice a day since testing positive. Ladies have them as part of HRT I believe. So presumably no reason why they couldn't prescribe pre-positive test?
Like you say though you had enough progesterone to support multiple pregnancy a matter of months ago so fingers crossed nothing to worry about at all.
Pleased the scan was positive!
Hope everyone else doing well. Anyone due to test in next couple of days? Xx

Figtree11 · 08/08/2024 19:17

It’s really not helpful when they are like that, as if you don’t have enough to cope with without staff not being understanding. Doesn’t take much for people to be a bit kinder & more personable. I hope they are more helpful next week

edit - meant to tag you @Ella31

Thats great that the ultrasound went well. I don’t know much about progesterone, but can they give you some progesterone? With my previous pregnancy I was given the suppositories but not too 7 weeks. I’ve heard of many women having it right from the start.

I’m really sorry you are having a bad day. It’s so hard when you have milestones like that. I feel very positive that you will bring a baby home. But I know me saying that doesn’t really help xx

I'm hoping so. The clinic is so cold. I asked the midwives what next if tomorrow's test shows low progesterone and they wouldn't tell me. We've a consultation with the fertility consultant on Wednesday so hopefully it will be clearer. I just wish they'd give me some piece of mind. I had 2 healthy boys 9 months ago and carried that pregnancy right through bar until they got the twin condition. What could have changed in 9 months?

I was so good and now I'm so stressed and upset. Is progesterone an easy fix? I've cried so much today. Doesn't help that my boys are 9 months gone this week and should be 9 months old. Will I ever bring a living baby home at this point.

That sounds really positive! Fingers crossed progesterone is where it needs to be tomorrow at day 7 ❤️

How are you feeling about it? X

The ultrasound went really well. Confirmed there was a corpus luteum which happens after ovulation and a thick uterus lining . But my progesterone came back at 25 and they want 30. It was taken 5 days after ovulation so I'm doing a retest tomorrow 7 days after ovulation. It's so confusing to be honest. I ovulated day 18 and cycle is 30/31 days so some say it should be done 7 days after ovulation.

Bellebg · 08/08/2024 17:36

@Gracie1825 @jellyfish2 I’m feeling exactly the same. It’s so conflicting, I’m so so beyond happy to have fallen pregnant again but also completely terrified and finding it impossible not to spend every second of the day feeling anxious about it.

Because my cycle was a little off after my mmc I’m not completely sure when I ovulated and how far along I am which is making me feel so nervous for a scan.

Sending hugs to everyone who’s feeling the same xxx

ThelastRolo20 · 08/08/2024 15:04

@Lovedatforme that's a great sign and a lovely bit of reassurance.

@MisssMarion we all understand, pregnancy after loss is so different - it's unfair. Taking each day as it comes is the right thing to do xx

Apologies for disappearing, I’m still in shock and feeling all sorts of feelings (not the relief I thought I would just yet though). It hasn’t sunk in yet, but it’s still very early days I guess. I’m taking it one day at the time, with no symptoms which doesn’t help my anxiety. I’ve been checking my line progression to spot a chemical but I think I’m just fuelling my anxiety… Let’s see.

I’ll stick around if that’s ok, I can’t wait to see us all get our 🌈 babies…

Completely normal, I've yet to feel excited and I'm not sure I will until way down the line. Hoping after my scan I'll relax a little but yeah I think taking it day by day is all you can do. I didn't have any symptoms for a while and now all I have is extreme tiredness, a bit nauseated especially if hungry mixed with heartburn and slightly achy boobs. I felt much worse with the MMC. I have everything crossed that this is your rainbow 🌈.

Just a little update from me, my consultant scanned me today at 5+2 and could see the sac transabdominally which they couldn't pick up on my last MC so that's a positive! She's bringing me back in again next week.

I've been put on progesterone to help with the pregnancy too so fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is doing okay x
