TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

Well that’s me out again this time. AF due tomorrow and got the usual pre period spotting & cramping

Figtree11 · 23/10/2024 18:03

@Ncl31 i’m glad he’s ok. Hope you got to sleep in the end. I’ve felt awful all day while surviving on about 4 hours sleep!
Hope the positive ovulation comes soon

@CadoAvo sorry about the bfn, hopefully it’s just too early yet. It’s frustrating what our bodies do to us

CadoAvo · 23/10/2024 10:04

@Figtree11 @DonnaWhat thanks ladies. I've tested today and it's a BFN. My app says I'm 10dpo but I think I'm 9dpo so still early days. Trying to keep hopeful. If it's not this month then my body has been playing awful tricks on me 😅

Ncl31 · 23/10/2024 04:18

@Figtree11 ah yes I’m pleased he’s working during the night as it is quieter, I think because he’s away from home too I just worry. He’s just text to say he’s back at the hotel now which is good. I usually start OPKs at cd8 so will do one today I guess. My period was weird too, I had a single episode of the worst cramp in the world then 2 days of moderate flow before it disappeared again. Maybe just an off cycle.

Figtree11 · 23/10/2024 03:47

@Ncl31 i woke up after dreaming about work & had to write a note about remembering to do something! An hour & a half later and here i am still…
I’m sorry that you’re awake worrying and that your DH is back before you know it. I know me saying it won’t help, but the motorways are so quiet at night I’m sure he will be fine. And that you manage to get some sleep.
Have you done any ovulation tests?

I’m happy to make a new thread, will do a new one soon

Welcome @Confusedmermaid1 I’m sorry for your losses. My last one was start of May and I’ve been having long cycles so I’m definitely still trying to regulate. I’ve no advice on the luteal phase I’m afraid as I’m not sure

@ApplesNest hope you are doing well

Just realised we’re on page 39 - is 1000 posts when a page is full? Will keep an eye on it as will need to make a new thread soon

I’m not sure when we’re full, if I’m honest I’m not even sure how to create a new thread.

welcome to the wide awake club.

I have so much going through my mind right now. CD8 today and last night before I came to bed I had weird cm, like almost EWCM except it was a creamy yellow colour - usually EWCM starts at cd12 and is completely clear.
DH is away for the night working on the motorway too so I think I’m worried about him so waking every 45 minutes or so to check he’s okay - im
terrified that something will happen to him as this is unusual work for him.

I’ve been MIA for a while, mainly because I didn’t want to continue posting after the flurry of BFPs because I know that can be triggering. I haven’t caught up with all the posts yet but hoping you’re all doing okay and treating yourselves kindly especially in those frustrating moments where you need some self care to get you through the ups and downs.

Confusedmermaid1 · 22/10/2024 21:15

Joining the thread, sorry we’re all part of this shit club!

I’ll do a (hopefully) quick summary of my journey so far.

Started TTC baby number 1 in January this year, had a chemical in March which I only discovered because I bled for 2 weeks which is not normal for me. Fell pregnant in May and found out I had a MMC in July treated with medical management. Period returned fairly quickly in August but since then my cycles have been absolutely baffling me.

First cycle was 26 days with quite a short luteal phase, second was 25 days but a longer luteal phase then my most recent cycle was only 21 days which was a bit of a shock. Started my period at what would have been 9dpo but started spotting at 6/7dpo.

I suppose my body is still recovering from the MC/medical management? I just don’t know what to do next. In my trust you have to have 3 miscarriages to have any additional investigation but realistically is it even possible to conceive with a luteal phase as short as 9/10 days? Just feeling a bit defeated by it all at the moment..

Figtree11 · 22/10/2024 20:44

@DonnaWhat ahh amazing, so pleased for you. Thank you, I appreciate it a lot. Will definitely keep you posted x

DonnaWhat · 22/10/2024 20:30

@Figtree11 I'm 14 weeks tomorrow. Even if it's not this month, there will be a fresh slate next week and I hope that the clinic can help get you some help for your rainbow. You'll have to keep us posted. I know your cycles are super long but you will get there. I just feel it xxxx

Figtree11 · 22/10/2024 19:55

@DonnaWhat we did, so fingers crossed it’s worked. But I just don’t have a good feeling about it this cycle. But maybe that’s for the best, as my recurrent miscarriage appt is in 4 weeks.
I’m sorry about the bleeding, it’s so disconcerting when that happens. Glad all is well though. How many weeks are you now? Lovely of you to check in

DonnaWhat · 22/10/2024 19:49

@Figtree11 did you manage to get some baby dancing in? I'm OK, I've been getting the odd day bleeding but all is OK, they can't find the source for it. Just "one of those things" apparently. I do stay in the background and see what you're all upto. I hope you aren't waiting too much longer. Xxx.

Figtree11 · 22/10/2024 19:31

@Blueskies4 thank you, I feel grateful they will see me after 2 MCs to hopefully get some answers

@DonnaWhat lovely to hear from you, how are you getting on?
I’m CD45/11dpo today. I wasn’t tracking until I noticed some ovulation signs & so started testing & luckily caught the surge. But I’m not feeling very hopeful. But on the whole I am doing ok - feeling less down than I was, I guess time really is a healer

@CadoAvo have you tested today?

DonnaWhat · 22/10/2024 19:23

@CadoAvo I have everything crossed for you that you see 2 lines in the time frame in a couple of days. 🤞

@Figtree11 How are you? Where are you in your cycle? Are you playing it by ear or tracking? Just thought I'd jump on and check in 🥰

@PearlCat No advice really other than to say vent away. We have all been there and understand how you're feeling. With regards to significant dates, just take some self love of yourself and remember them. Light a candle 🕯 go for a walk. Just do what you feel is right and even if that's just a duvet day on the couch then that's fine too.

Fletchasketch · 22/10/2024 08:30

PearlCat · 21/10/2024 17:26

Hey,
Sorry to jump on this thread.
Been watching this thread a little bit tried to have a bit of an internet break for a while over the summer. Really needing to reach out for some advice this past couple of weeks though. It's approaching what would have been my due date from my loss in March and I'm just feeling pretty terrible.. looks like my period will arrive on the day and I have a terrible cold to add to it. Alongside that, yet another family member has gotten pregnant straight away. I just don't know how to not blame myself anymore. Guess I'm just wanting to vent, or ask for some tips on getting through significant dates.. xx

I’m so sorry you’re going through this it sounds incredibly hard. Im dreading getting to the due date, I’m sure it’s very common. I don’t really have any advice, other than in the days following my miscarriage we went to the sea and went on a really long walk. For some reason it made me feel like she was near and was comforting that day. Sending you the biggest hug.

Blueskies4 · 22/10/2024 07:53

@Figtree11 ah that’s really good, I’ve had a Tommys appointment too :) hope it goes well for you xx

Figtree11 · 21/10/2024 19:32

Thanks @Blueskies4 It’s with Tommys, in conjunction with the nhs I think. I’ve heard really good things about Tommys so I’m hoping they can help. Even feeling like I have some support if I get pregnant makes me feel better and that I won’t be suffering by myself

Blueskies4 · 21/10/2024 19:13

@Figtree11 it sucks when your cycle is out of whack. Glad you have an appointment and hopefully you can get some answers - is that with Tommys or the NHS? Xx

Figtree11 · 21/10/2024 17:31

@CadoAvo I really hope it’s the start of something for you!
@Superscientist also hope you have good news this month
@PearlCat i just replied to your other thread, but didn’t want to ignore you on here. I really am sorry you are struggling. It’s such a tough time

That has made me chuckle, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! @CadoAvo

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 16:08

So I tested today because I have no control 😂 I'm 7dpo and it wasn't even FMU (yes I'm unhinged lol).

It was a BFN within the time frame. However, as I normally do, I kept the test to keep revisiting it. I know this makes it invalid however now it's dry there is definitely a line albeit veryyyyyy faint. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how things are over the next few days. If nothing else, it's nice to have a little bit of hope today. My boobs are still unusually sensitive.

Superscientist · 21/10/2024 12:41

Sorry I missed your posts @Joleyjojo mine was sat unsent for a while and I didn't refresh the page

I'm sorry that your little one had a heart defect. The world is cruel, my uncle was born with a heart defect and died in childhood. My gran went on to have my mum and auntie with issues. They believe his heart defect was caused by my gran contracting rubella.

I had a miscarriage at the start of August at 10 weeks. My period returned after 4 weeks and the second 4 weeks later so I went straight back into my normal cycle. It took 3 weeks for my HCG to drop to baseline again. I don't know if that plays any role in your bodies recovery.

@CadoAvo I'm going to do my best and wait until 2-5 days late. With my daughter and my miscarriage I tested at 5 days late and I think for me waiting was less stressful than getting negatives that may or may not be because I tested too early. I took my last test the morning I was due on and started bleeding during the 3 minute wait. I kicked myself for wasting a test. If I had an hours more patience I could have saved myself some money!

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 11:42

Jologi · 21/10/2024 11:37

@CadoAvo Oh really? I read somewhere that fertility is higher afterward and there is more chance of conceiving. Well will have to watch this space lol

Yeah I've heard that too, after a loss you have a higher chance of conceiving. My second pregnancy was conceived straight after my first loss. However cycles can still take time to regulate. You should still ovulate but it might be at a different point than normal. My losses were both 1st trimester so not sure if things are different with a 2nd trimester loss.
