TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

@Joleyjojo I understand that totally - I wanted to start trying again as soon as possible, trying again for me didn't change that I was grieving but it allowed me to keep trying to move forward at the same time. Something to do, as bad as that sounds!

Superscientist · 26/08/2024 14:14

Hi @Joleyjojo welcome although wish you had no need to join.
I'm recovering from miscarriage too. I had one at 10 weeks a few weeks ago although I might have lost the pregnancy earlier. At 8 weeks overnight the all day nausea stopped overnight. The sickness and intermittent sickness continued and I was on antiemetics until 3-4 days after the miscarriage completed
It was awful having symptoms knowing the pregnancy was no more. Lots of self care and being kind to myself helped.
I bled for a few days then spotting for a bit longer. I am partially waiting for my period to ttc but we aren't taking precautions just going with our moods. It's not something that's on my mind right now. I still feel a bit vulnerable but feeling stronger every day and I think by the time my period does return I will feel ready for more intimacy. Based on some egg white discharge I might have ovulated earlier this week. I have been having my HCG regularly monitored and in the last 7 days it has gone from 150 to 20. So I'm hoping they will be back to normal in another week. Having numbers to follow has been helpful to manage my expectations and patience. I can't expect to jump back into normal life my body isn't and it's ok for my mind to take a few weeks too.

i’m so sorry @Joleyjojo i have had 2 MMC so know how you must be feeling.
I think a lot of us TTC straight away, but only advice from me is to test negative before starting again, as I’ve seen a few threads where it’s then caused women confusion on if they are pregnant or if it’s leftover hcg

Hi @Joleyjojo - I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had missed miscarriages, they are so awful after you've seen the heartbeat at earlier scans. We started trying again as soon as the bleeding stopped and I was in my next fertile window x

Thank you and sorry about your losses too. I know it’s important to be emotionally ready to TTC again but I just don’t have the time to wait. I will start LH testing when I have stopped bleeding. I am finding it so hard to start healing when I’m still carrying the baby. Just hurting so much. Xxx

Hi I hope you don’t mind me joining,

I am 39 close to 40. I had CP in May, I became pregnant straight after. I found out Saturday that we have lost the baby at 9 weeks, I went for a private scan at 9+3. I had seen the heartbeat at 6+1 and 7+1 so this was a shock no pain or bleeding and PG symptoms still now. I am booked for a D&C in a weeks time. I am absolutely broken and struggling to function. But I am so conscious of my age and TTC. Has anyone TTC after the bleeding has stopped after the D&C? X

HerbaceousPerennial · 26/08/2024 09:47

Thanks all, much appreciated. I’m not counting my chickens until they’re hatched but feeling positive at the moment and determined to enjoy this pregnancy for as long as it lasts. @Ladyinpink1 wishing you all the luck in the world, feels like we’ve been on an epic journey together already!

@Babydust99 that’s good to know you found them helpful. I’m grateful they will see me after 2 losses instead of 3.
Sorry that you are struggling. It’s a tough journey to be on. I hope it’s not too long til a BFP

Yes my referral was put in after 2 losses aswell. They test for a quite a number of things so at least it will rule a lot out for you if nothing else.

Just over a year. 1 MMC and 1 partial molar pregnancy. I have an appt at the recurrent miscarriage clinic in a few months

Hopefully you hear back from the recurrent clinic soon. I found them very helpful. I just feel in limbo again now I haven't had a bfp in a year. Hopefully soon tho 🤞

How long have you been ttc and have you had any testing done?

moosey89 · 25/08/2024 22:12

@Beanie14 sooooo many tests and they're all normal. Feels worse than being told there's an issue, at least that way we would know, if that makes sense?
I know it is hard, but there's lots of threads on the board from ladies worried about age gaps, and tons of reassuring replies from other ladies who have had to wait longer than they thought/originally would have liked. I really hope it happens soon for you though - it's hard when life turns out differently to what you thought or would.

Also - please remember you can be so grateful for what you have, and sad for what you don't, both at the same time. It's not just one feeling or the other but it can be so difficult to manage them both together!xx

Same here, my hope is pretty much zero. Can’t actually ever imagine having a baby

Babydust99 · 25/08/2024 22:00

I feel exactly the same. Feel like I've no hope left anymore. It's been a long and hard journey with no progress

@Beanie14 yeah that feeling sucks when it looks like everyone else is getting pregnant so easily and right in front of you!
My journey is a little complicated, 2.5 years TTC and a miscarriage with my ex, 2.5 year break, 1yr 8 months TTC with my current partner, 2 miscarriages. Not very lucky unfortunately 🙈 I'm so tired of the whole journey. Not sure how much I have left in me!

Beanie14 · 25/08/2024 21:59

@moosey89 oh Im so sorry to hear that! What a stressful and emotional journey. I have everything crossed that you don’t have to wait much longer.
have you had any testing?
I’m so so grateful to have my son but it makes me so sad that the gap between him and a sibling gets bigger and bigger all the time.

we just have to keep the faith that things happen for a reason xx

CD1 for me cycle no. 25 🥴 we are going to pay for testing in the new year if nothing by then. We've both started taking proceive max. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm on aspirin for sticky blood, no bfps in last 12 months and previous to that had 4 early losses in just over a year

Beanie14 · 25/08/2024 20:11

@moosey89 my son is 3 in 2 weeks and we’ve been actively trying 9 months now. What about you?
I know others have been trying for much longer but I’m just finding it so hard at the moment. Seems like every post I see is pregnancy related and there’s pregnant people everywhere!
We had a chemical in July but other than that nothing!

moosey89 · 25/08/2024 19:57

@Beanie14 sorry you're having a difficult time. How long have you been trying for? It's so hard but for some of us it just takes a really long time and there's nothing "wrong" that they find, and you're not doing anything wrong. We're just unlucky xx

Beanie14 · 25/08/2024 19:46

Been out the chat for a while so I’m sorry for those experiencing loss and congratulations to those having their BFP.
Got some blood results back. Everything is normal and in range. I’m just waiting for cycle day 21 for another test to see if I actually ovulate otherwise who knows why I can’t get pregnant.
my OH is going to get tested too.
What vitamins do you girls take and is it helpful?
My cycle is already regular to the day so not sure what I’m doing wrong.

DonnaWhat · 25/08/2024 15:27

@EmTTC2 No, nothing, I've only just had bloods done Friday and today for hcg so will find out more next week. I had to chase them all last week for those.

@HerbaceousPerennial Congratulations, fingers crossed for a sticky bean. 3rd time lucky for me too 🤞

@Figtree11 How are you, where are you in your cycle now? Xxx

Fingers crossed 🤞

Figtree11 · 25/08/2024 18:11

@DonnaWhat i don’t know what my cycles are - was on the pill for years and since coming off a year ago I’ve had 2 pregnancies which have thrown everything off. So just a case of waiting really

DonnaWhat · 25/08/2024 17:42

@Figtree11 I'm doing OK. That's a long cycle, are they regulated long cycles? You never know though. If af rears her ugly head then you have a fresh new cycle 🤞 I have everything crossed for you xxx

Figtree11 · 25/08/2024 16:57

@HerbaceousPerennial that’s amazing! Congrats. We literally only spoke a couple of days ago about long cycles. I really hope this works out well for you

@MrsS11 I’m sorry AF has arrived 😞

@DonnaWhat thanks for checking in, CD42 and no period yet but also not pregnant. Last time I got pregnant, it would be in another weeks time I got the positive test. So I know I’m going to be disappointed this time next week if still nothing. Hope you’re ok
