TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

Hi @NphysT sorry you find yourself here. Your story sounds very similar to mine. I had a MMC in November at 10 weeks, followed by a partial molar pregnancy in April at 12 weeks. I’ve not had genetic testing though

NphysT · 15/09/2024 09:23

Hi all, can I join? Currently 1dpo of 1st month ttc after having 1 miscarriage in December after 12 weeks and another at 8 weeks in April which was a partial molar pregnancy.
Only now that we both feel ready to try again and I am terrified of it either just not happening or it happening and something going wrong again.
We had genetic testing done on our molar pregnancy and have just also recieved a letter to get a blood test for karyotyping because it showed mosaicism for trisomy 3 which could be due to non-parental genetic rearrangement so that's another little worry with it all.

Ttc and Pregnancy after loss will never be the same ladies. And although I lost my sons unexpectedly at the end. Seeing their journey every scan after two losses before conceiving them gave me such strength and hope. Despite everything I don't regret a thing regarding their short lives. I know in time you'll all have that hope and joy too. Hope you are doing ok today.

❤️❤️❤️

I am currently 8dpo and going stir crazy. Did a FRER earlier as I couldn't stop myself and gave myself line eyes staring at it but it is of course negative at this early. Going to hold off testing again until Monday

moosey89 · 13/09/2024 22:24

@Ladyinpink1 thank you - I hope so, they run international events, first big one I'll be working on the marketing for will be Dubai in January, wouldn't say no to that! 😂

Figtree11 · 13/09/2024 22:22

@Superscientist oh yes, the regimented sex is a mood killer. We’ve enjoyed the break this week with AF rearing its ugly head 😂

@Ladyinpink1 i’m sorry you are in the same feeling fed up boat. I feel a little better this evening thank you. DP gets me flowers for birthdays etc, but I’ve never had a bunch spontaneously, but today he came home with a bunch of flowers for me to cheer me up, and it did work!
I’m sorry you had a negative test today. It’s like a punch to the gut, and never gets easier.
I don’t have any experience of the gynaecologist I’m afraid - did any potential issues come up from your recurrent miscarriage tests, or was there no cause found?

Ladyinpink1 · 13/09/2024 20:53

@moosey89 congratulations on the job, that's great news for you! Will this job have the sane kind of opportunities for travelling? x

@Figtree11 I'm with you on feeling down, how are you feeling now tonight?

I decided to test today and it was negative which means I'm going to be going onto cycle 15 ttc since the last loss and now 2 years ttc. I just got my hopes up again, as I always seem to, I feel like I am doing everything right but it just isn't happening. x
Sorry too @CadoAvo that's really good you have a nice manager that notices you (I love your
username by the way, I am a big advacado fan 😊)
Pregnancy bumps and
announcements are the worst. x

I got an appointment through to see a consultant gynecologist, apparently after the recurrent miscarriage tests if you are over 35 you go to see her (another reminder of my grand old age of 36 lol) Has anyone else went for one of these appointments? If so, what happened at it please?

Superscientist · 13/09/2024 18:42

Thanks @Figtree11 and @CurlyWurly1991

It's funny you mention the non sleeping toddler. A non sleeping 4 yo is part of the reason we are knackered. The combination of starting school, an allergic reaction and the weather turning cold has meant my daughter hasn't slept that well and has woken up early wanting to go to school. She pulled the duvet off me and my bed at 7 this morning I don't have to get up until 7.20 and I know it's only 20 minutes but that's where I get my energy for the nonessential stuff especially by the time it's Friday!

I think also part of is not wanting to start with regimented sex. We haven't done it like that previously and have just gone with the mood and it's all worked out ok. I'm trying to be patient and not get obsessive because I do have that tendency with life. I have some time to myself this evening once the little person is in bed. I might get some self care stuff out and see if that nurtures the soul and my libedo!

How are you both doing?

CurlyWurly1991 · 13/09/2024 16:46

@Superscientist I totally get you. I’m also entering my fertile window, it looks like it will be the first vaguely normal cycle following the last MMC surgery at the end of April. The ovulation pain is torturing me and I both do and don’t want to TTC. Colleagues all complaining at work about non-sleeping toddlers while I don’t have that problem. Still, it’s a nice problem to have 🤷

Figtree11 · 13/09/2024 12:31

@Superscientist its so difficult when you go to events that you imagined you’d be pregnant for. I think it’s natural to be hesitant about TTC - it’s such a rollercoaster journey after all we’ve been through. It’s not exciting anymore

Superscientist · 13/09/2024 10:03

I had a team building day yesterday. We were at a stately home/garden.
Lots of babies in prams and that stab of recollection that I thought when I got in the initial invite that I would have to be on light duties. My colleague was there very pregnant too.

I'm entering my fertile window. My partner and I are knackered with first week of school. I haven't told him, i don't know why I'm hesitant.

Figtree11 · 13/09/2024 09:56

Thank you @moosey89 i am surrounded by pregnancy announcements at the moment. I feel like I am muting someone on Facebook/instagram each week because I just can’t cope with seeing it. I hope you are doing ok this week x

moosey89 · 13/09/2024 09:07

@Figtree11 honestly, cry it all out whenever you need. It sucks when you want something so bad any everyone around you seems to get it so easily yet here we are with heartbreak after heartbreak. I had a complete meltdown when I found out my brother and wife were expecting their second last week xx

Figtree11 · 13/09/2024 08:41

@CadoAvo i’m so sorry you are struggling too. I have cried to my manager before too! It does help to let people know how you are feeling.
I had been holding in tears all day, and then another pregnancy announcement in the evening pushed me over the edge & I just sat and cried.
You’re right, the grief doesn’t seem to get easier at all. I hope you are feeling a little better today x

CadoAvo · 13/09/2024 00:37

@Ella31 lovely news!! 8 weeks already! Hopefully the next few weeks pass quickly and your sickness eases up. Is your husband looking after you? 🥰

Urgh I feel down tonight. Yesterday DPs friend announced their second pregnancy. Today it was someone at works last day before maternity. Tonight a friend of mine & DPs has announced their pregnancy.
I’m 9 weeks away from my second due date.

When will it be my turn 😢 I’m so tired of all this

I feel this so much, you are not alone and our times will come ❤️

I had a cry in front of my manager yesterday, luckily she's more like a friend and was so understanding. She even said I didnt take enough time off after my miscarriages. But I've been stuck in a rut for a couple of weeks now. She knows about my losses and asked me how I was as she noticed I was withdrawn recently. It actually felt nice that someone noticed and asked. I really didn't think the grief would get harder. To top it off, looks like we will be skipping this month as our donor has other things going on. Sigh.

Sorry I've been so absent. Dying sick the last few days. Scan went well. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow.

Great news @Ella31

moosey89 · 12/09/2024 19:37

Thanks everyone! We're just going to carry on TTC and see what happens. If we get pregnant we will be so happy (and simultaneously anxious!) and will just deal with whatever situation we end up in!

It was a good day - my boyfriend also passed the next of his electrician qualification exams. One step closer to his career change!

MrsS11 · 12/09/2024 19:34

Thats great @Ella31! Hope the rubbish symptoms are somewhat comforting, pregnancy is a rough ride no matter how wanted it is.
Congratulations @moosey89! That's awesome. I really wouldn't worry about TTC, lots of people fall pregnant accidentally right after starting jobs. I had a interview when I was 19 weeks and told them I was pregnant so that I was being honest; I didn't get the job and I found out on the Monday that my baby had died. I will not be disclosing that unnecessarily ever again, if the situation comes up.
The answer to my lh tests quandry was, I had a proper peak the next day ☺️ feeling relieved everything seems to be back to normal.

That's great news @Ella31 - hope your sickness doesn't last too long!

Well - I just got a phone call to say I've got the job I have been interviewing for! So excited, not sure how to handle TTC at this stage....I have 1 months notice in my current job, given how long it takes us to conceive I'm thinking we just keep trying because the odds are against us but I don't want to screw over a new company....guess it would be a 3 month maternity leave if we get pregnant in the next 4 or 5 months! Cross that bridge if we come to it I guess.

Congrats on the job. Trust me, you'll cross that bridge when it comes and only be too glad. Hopefully this is the start of all good things to come

@Ella31 glad alls well

@ApplesNest thank you. I’m worried it will be another 5 weeks until I ovulate again. How are you?

@moosey89 great news! I think I’ve learnt from life that nothing goes to plan, so I’d just go with the flow and carry on as you are

ThelastRolo20 · 12/09/2024 16:58

@Ella31 I'm so happy for you! Obviously not about the sickness - can you take anything to help?

@moosey89 congratulations! That's wonderful news, don't you worry about timings etc - having worked in HR, I've known a few pregnancies come to light not long after people start and I'm always just delighted for them ❤️

ApplesNest · 12/09/2024 16:40

@Figtree11 wishing you have a smooth cycle ahead and positivity.

@Ncl31 I’m sorry about your BFN and the wait for AF can get the better of us. Be gentle with yourself in the meantime.
