TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

Thank you both @ThelastRolo20 @Ella31 as ovulation seems to be delayed anyway for me I might leave it out this cycle & just take the folic acid, vitamin d and omega 3 and wait until my appt in November before trying anything else

@Superscientist hope you are ok. I’m on a new team at work who are nearly all mums so there is a lot of chat. I keep busy & do things that I don’t need to be at my desk for

@Figtree11 if it's any consolation, I genuinely believe sticking to basic vits is good. Plus I'd say while you are waiting for your cycle to regulate, no harm letting it take its course. Only my opinion of course but I've done the full cycle of vits and this is the advice every physician has given me

@MrsS11 thank you, you’re right it does help opening up to others. I was quite open with a few of the women on my old team & they were so supportive & it helped to confide in them. I think with the new team if something came up that was kind of relevant then I will mention it. I’m so conscious of not making people feel uncomfortable around me & feel like they have to sensor what they are saying. It’s tricky.
Hope you are doing ok - fingers crossed we’ll all be seeing out the end of this year with some positive news

MrsS11 · 17/09/2024 21:00

@Superscientist that's so hard, it's such a tricky mix of emotions when you're genuinely happy for someone and also devastated it's not you. There are so many pregnant people in my life right now 🫠
@Figtree11 if you get the chance to move beyond small talk (and your colleagues are nice people) it can sometimes help to be open; if someone looked at me from face value they'd see 3 healthy kids and assume my life is perfect. Meanwhile I'm stewing over whether to keep or scatter my baby's ashes. When I was pregnant I accidentally (unknowingly) made a slightly insensitive comment to a colleague who'd turned out to have had a TFMR between her second and third living children. I apologised and she told me her story, and it later gave me a lot of hope that one day id be brave enough to try for a rainbow baby and be walking around, functional and everything. All to say, you never know what people have been through and they might at least be sensitive to your feelings too.

Here's hoping the super moon is fertility boosting for us all!

Thanks @Superscientist I don’t find the children talk too difficult, more that I just have no contribution to the convo so can just end up on the sidelines. None of this new team know about the losses I’ve had. I definitely find the pregnancy/baby chat that happens with others so difficult. Seeing pregnant women I find particularly hard, so I really feel for you today.

CD10 for me today. Interested to see if this cycle will be another 50 day one or if it will start to get shorter. I go on holiday for a week this weekend, so going to enjoy life a bit. Then once I’m back will start on the ovulation testing. I really really want to give it my best shot & desperate for the next cycle to be successful

I really hope it is shorter! Enjoy your holiday x

Thanks @ThelastRolo20 and @Ella31

The colleague today I've known for a really long time. We work quite closely and we were at the a previous company together too. I can't be happier for her but definitely feeling sorry for myself at the same time. I had suspected she might have been for a while but she's definitely "showing" now. My line manager must be relieved that he's not losing both us at the same time! I jest. It adds a blanket over the hurt. I'm ok, just letting myself have some time to be sad and think about what might have been. I'm only in the office once a week which helps.

The chat must be hard @Figtree11 you'll be able to join in soon I hope. I do try to be mindful of child talk only around those whos circumstances I know. We are a fairly open group. One colleague had spoken about her difficulties conceiving after having her eldest unplanned whilst at uni, another about his wish for a second but nature had other ideas. I think it does make everyone a bit more aware that it's a privilege not a right to have healthy kids at home.

@NphysT thank you, I’d been taking coq10 since May (that’s how long my cycles have been 😆) but had read about them potentially delaying ovulation. No idea if any truth in that. I had thought about myoinositol but don’t have a diagnosis of PCOS so thought i best not try that yet. I have an appt at the Tommys miscarriage clinic in November so perhaps I’ll get some more info then of what to take.
Then I keep thinking of my friend who has taken zero vitamins & has a healthy pregnancy and wonder if there is any truth in supplements!

@Mummysparrow I hope those work for you 🤞🏻

@Figtree11 coq10 completely messed up my ovulation as @ThelastRolo20 said.

I took CoQ10, never figured out what the difference was! @Figtree11 it actually bought my ovulation forward by a couple of days but I know for @Ella31 it pushed it back so I think it's all very individual. I think the folic acid and vit D was probably more helpful anyway!

@Superscientist so sorry - being caught in that situation must have been so hard. Well done for making it through, it's not to be underestimated xx

Ubiquinol is the purer version of Coq10 , it doesnt need to convert. so they tend to recommend that. It definitely delayed my ovulation by 4 days.

The month before I conceived this pregnancy, I came off everything bar natural folic acid and liquid vit d. I used a brand called Viridian, all natural ingredients. My ovulation returned to what it was 2 years before all my losses. So it definitely worked for me to strip back.

Hi I have seen that many of you take Coq10 do you take the ubiquinol or the ubiquinone? I want to start but not sure which one or if there is much difference x

Colleague has confirmed and she's as far along as I would have been

Superscientist · 17/09/2024 12:51

I think I have found myself sandwiched between two pregnant colleagues at the lunch table. 😔

I'm coming to the end of my fertile week, then the wait for my period. My daughter is being a handful this week with starting school adjustments so I'm knackered which is making me a bit emotional.

@Ladyinpink1 that’s good that all your tests came back fine. But I can totally see how it’s mega frustrating to not have a clear cut answer. I really hope it’s just a matter of time now until that BFP for you.

@Mummysparrow im sorry it’s a bfn today.

@CadoAvo ive also felt less stressed with TTC this past week while on my period. Even now I know it will be a while til I ovulate & I’ve made peace with that. Fingers crossed it’s a good month in October for you

Can I ask a vitamin/supplement question. I’m currently just taking folic acid, high strength vitamin D and omega 3. I have tried conception vitamins in the past, and last cycle I also tried coq10 as the partial molar is making me worry I’ve bad eggs.
Should I be doing more than the folic acid, vitamin d and omega 3?

@Figtree11 I take myoinositol. It regulates my period for and helps me to ovulate, I do have pcos though but may be worth a shot. The powder form from natures best is the only 1 that's worked for me. If you're taking coq10 it will take 3 months for it to take an effect so just keep that in mind. I think same goes for a lot of vitamins/supplements that can improve egg quality

NphysT · 17/09/2024 06:12

Figtree11 · 15/09/2024 13:59

Hi @NphysT sorry you find yourself here. Your story sounds very similar to mine. I had a MMC in November at 10 weeks, followed by a partial molar pregnancy in April at 12 weeks. I’ve not had genetic testing though

Thank you. I'm sorry you've also experienced similar to me. Fingers crossed our time comes soon x

Mummysparrow · 16/09/2024 20:50

@Figtree11 I have made a bold jump and just purchased some very expensive vitamins from naître. They are very expensive but the reviews are amazing so decided it is worth it it gets me pregnant in a month or two. I hoping for a better egg quality with the vitamins I have been taking for 4 months.

CadoAvo · 16/09/2024 12:51

Just an update from me, we are skipping this month as donor is not available. I've made my peace with it and completely understand his reasons. According to my app I should be ovulating on Wednesday but haven't been tracking so trying to "enjoy" being less stressed with a month off.

The fun news is if we try again next cycle in October I should be about 8dpo by the time we leave for our holiday so we can either celebrate in Morocco or commiserate whilst eating, drinking and sunbathing 🥳

Mummysparrow · 16/09/2024 10:44

@Superscientist omg I love that 😂😂

Mummysparrow · 15/09/2024 18:15

Let hope most of us get out BFP before Christmas. I plan on doing a FRER in the morning. I had convinced myself that I am pregnant as I had some symptoms but I am no longer sure.
I have a holiday in just under 3 weeks which means if this cycle isn't successful then ovulation will happen when on holiday which isn't great when sharing a room with our 3 year old 😬

It took me having a child to realise why my dad used to always bring us home a VHS when he had been away for a long time!
Enjoy the holiday and I hope you find a way to be creative, if not there's next month x

MrsS11 · 16/09/2024 09:00

Sorry @Mummysparrow. I've never had a bfp that early though! When we started trying we were also on holiday with kids and ended up in the bathroom 🥴 not great but it's an option!

Mummysparrow · 16/09/2024 07:46

10dpo and it looks like I am out. I usually get a positive about now if I am in 😭

@Figtree11 Thank you. That's really nice, I love "just because" flowers. Yes, my recurrent miscarriage tests all came back normal and my GP hormone tests came back normal and also confirmed I am ovulating so it's all good news but also frustrating because I can do nothing to help change it. I feel better now too, and I always feel good about ttc in the autumn time as it's our wedding anniversary and so more romantic moments and hopefully more relaxed eggs and sperm lol, I have concived this time of year twice so here's hoping! x

@moosey89 That will be such a hardship having to go there 😂 It's so nice getting to have those experiences as a part of work x

Sorry was a bfn @Mummysparrow hoping tomorrow brings better news x

@NphysT hi, I recognise your name from a previous thread, sorry you are here again and I'm really sorry you gave had another loss x
