Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

Morning girlies . Just trying to follow the thread but tripping up on all the abbreviations. Can someone fill me in please:
ff,ov,cd,bbt,bd,cm??? Cheers.

Hulababy · 09/01/2005 21:25

Jeddah

Marina - My cycle has been between 25 days and 32 days, and FF has identified OV at CD17, and I think the other times were CD15 and CD13 (if at all as FF didnt detect OV at all those two times).

Hulababy · 09/01/2005 21:22

Used my OPK for the first time. On CD 12 and CM is not favourable, so -ve as expected. At least I now know how to use them. So how long do I keep trying? Every day until I get a +ve? Or every other day? When CM changes?

HI Jeddah
Answering your post now - power cut all saturday - what fun ! All electric here so had nothing but open fire - electric went off 3.00am friday and returned 11pm on saturday - mind you nothing compared to those in carlisle. Having no tv or radio is wierd andliving in a semi remote village makes it extra creepy.
Anyway asked to be referred three weeks before crimbo so have not heard yet - so going to hassle dr again soon. Only been TTC for 7 months but told dr it was 1 year. Read this book by Richard Winston of "Child of our time fame" and he runs a fertility clinic with much success. He says that pinpointed OV and them bd like mad is not best thin to do in older woman. He says you need to bd at least 15 time a month (covering the fertile period but only loosly) - this increases ability to concieve to 40% - according to his research. So that is what I am trying to do this month - but it wears DH out !!!! I insisted on being referred because I not going to hang around trying if there's a problem with one of us and also I get soul destroyed each month and am determined to find out what i can rather than putting myself through misery every month. A friend of mine who is 40 TTC for THREE years and failed every month. She has tests which showed nothing and could not put herself through IVF. She gave up, moved house and concieved on a wim (apparently she only bd once or twice ) and then became pg! She was so depressed that she could not concieve she was suicidal ! She recons her DH sperm count was low but apparently this can just suddenly improve in men for no resaon.
Sorry about AF - What a blo""Y bitch she is - how crap. I truly truly know how you feel. Anyway you gnae quack may help and at least you know you are doing something positive.

Hula - the OPK's I think you begin testing according to your cycle length - I have a 24 day cycle and it says start testing on day 7. Basically you do the test each day until you get the required two lines (and them you bd as you will ovulate 24-36 hours) If you are not sure - let me know you cycle lenth and i'll look it up on my instructions -unless you have instructions of course with your own kit. Good Luck !
Munzeib - when is DH home ?

Hester are you following Arabica'a thread ? Fascination isn't it !

jeddah · 09/01/2005 20:50

cockenzie depending how old the monitor is.....you should get one second hand for around £15-20

good luck

I'm pissed off 12 months of af I am begining to think that I will never get pregnant guess I am too old

pooka · 09/01/2005 20:35

Oh Jeddah - that's just plain rude and inconsiderate of AF : (:

BeckiF · 09/01/2005 20:31

cockenzie · 09/01/2005 19:50

..............

..............

Aunt Flo!

BeckiF · 09/01/2005 16:55

You can read about my work probs on a thread called "Suspended drom Work!" on the employments issues section. My temp was above my coverline again today so FF shows me 3dpo, but the 3 temps are lower each day ... c'est la vie.

Fastasleep · 09/01/2005 15:36

The blood could be a sign of an impending AF, or that your body is getting back into thinking about having periods - which is also a great sign! Best of luck!

Fastasleep · 09/01/2005 15:34

Vel - I didn't get a bleed, but I didn't get sore boobs until about a week after I tested with Theo, I had no symptoms at all until after I tested which was a few days after my period was due, and as jed said implantation is 7-10 days after ovulation and AF is usually 14 or so days past, depending on your cycle of course! I'm really sorry if I got your hopes up!! Bodies are such confusing things!

jeddah · 09/01/2005 15:16

vel good luck with appointment

velcrobott · 09/01/2005 14:44

well.. will keep you posetd but am not getting my hopes up.... have appointment with gynae in 7 weeks....

jeddah · 09/01/2005 14:31

I guess because the implantation bleed is so early on that you will probably not have sore boobs.

Implanatation bleed differs from person to person, some decribe it like a lite period some say its like a bit of spotting.

velcrobott · 09/01/2005 14:27

Should add how much bleed is one to have in an implantation bleed anyway ?
