Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

hi pickledonion and welcome to a fab site.

If the first day of your af was the 4th.....then you are on cd7 today good luck!

Hi runtus sorry can not help with question, but great to hear from you....hester may help.

marinda · 10/01/2005 18:33

Hula - sorry took me ages to get back to you !
If cycle length is 25 days - you BEGIN testing on CD 8. If cycle length is 32 BEGIN testing on CD15. You may have to go for the MIDDLE of this with your varied CD length I think (ie:CD12/13 to BEGIN testing). When you get a +, then you BD like mad (or as much as you can!) as you wil ovulate withing 14-36 hours ! OR maybe start testing on 8 and carry on ubtil you get a + - may get expensive as you may need 2 packs or more. If you try and tie in it with CM, it can help pinpoint the day to start testing ie: Wait for CM to begin and then see if it tests + - this is what I did. I feel these kits are expensive and APPARENTLY can be quite unreliable (as Munzeib says you can get a + with one kit bout not with another !!!) Good luck anyway with these !

Jeddah Hi ! Will see what I can do regarding appointment like you suggested and will see what happens. At the mo, I am staying near Derby but usually live near Stafford (fairly north I think!)
It is such a shi**er when TTC fails especially when you think time is running out ! Anyway let's both try and find out what problem is or IF indeed it is us . Has your DH has a swimmers test ? Aparently at least 2 of these are needed to confirm the result. Let me know

Hester - yes drinks thing DEFINATE on

Hi Pickedonion and welcome ! How long have you been TTC ? Can you reveal your age ? (Approx will do !) We have such a variety from the very young to the still young but quite alot older than the youngest ones on the thread (That right Jeddah!)

Must go and eat tea see you soon !

runtus,
I have found myself using pantie liners this month as i was soaking through !!!! It has calmed down again and i'm on CD20.. it started from cd15 to 18.. But DP swimmers did'nt help either..

Canadianmom · 10/01/2005 15:40

Oh My! There is SO much to catch up on and I only have an hour to get myself (and three little people) organised and out the door to the airport... I hope that we have an internet connection at the new house soon or else I will fall dreadfully behind.
Thinking of you all and wishing you the best!

Afternoon girls, can I ask a slightly embarassing question?

Has anyone else had a situation where they are loads 'wetter' than normal?? I know it sounds odd but normally I only have anything like that around ov time but this week (day 21 and onwards) I have noticed I am alot wetter than normal and wondered if it had anything to do with the Progesterone pills or the Clomid I took this month? Kind of hoping it is an early pg sign really.........

Any ideas appreciated!

jeddah · 10/01/2005 14:39

LW munnzieb is right....progesterone raises to sustain a pregnancy or perare uterus for fertilised egg, so yes it does mean that you have ov and still could be pregnant?

Sparkly so sorry about BFN! still could be too early for test???? oh honey!....thinking of you!

munnzieb · 10/01/2005 13:06

LW - yes normal levels suggest u OV, I think they get higher to sustain early PG then fall again once AF comes, other wise keep risin, Jeds/Hester any ideas there girls?

MINNIE1 · 10/01/2005 12:52

cockenzie!!!!! are you there ???

littleweed · 10/01/2005 12:25

hello everyone
can I ask a question about progesterone? have just had my levels chekced and DR says tey're normal. so presumably that means I'm ovulating... adn as it was CD 21 tehn preseumably I'm not pg as teh levels wold be differnt? sorry am a bit new to all this adn finding it very confusing.

sparkly · 10/01/2005 11:45

Haven't had a chance to catch up since Friday so will read all tonight.

CD29 and rushed home last night and did a test .. BFN

Don't feel either pg or like AF is due ... just confused now.

jeddah · 10/01/2005 11:31

Nikkichik I was the same as you and did not want to go down the 'help' route. But after saying that.........When you are older than most, 1 yr of ttc is a long time (for me anyway)....but the 'help' has a 6 month waiting list!!!!!!!!!.

again everyone is different....bets to go with your gut instincts.

Tan, honey you take all the support you need from anywhere!!!!! Like Hester said ....just keeping calling in on us!

Hester.....missed you! good luck for Friday

Now off to the gym!

munnzieb · 10/01/2005 11:21

Tan - and so u should feelbad doin the dirty on us he he only kiddin hon!, glad ur first apt went well. fingers crossed u will be here startin a new thread in jan. MIL has only told DH and BIL has guessed, she gets absolutly plastered then goes to see this man for BD and seems to think my DH doesn't have enough to deal with already so enjoys tellin him as FIL is not sleepin with her she'll find someone who will. (DH wants to have a 'word' with this man - but seriously what red blooded male would refuse sex if it was offered to him on a plate? persoanlly I don't want to get involved in it - apart from to support DH)

Hester - everything's crossed for u hon. will be thinkin of u on fri

Nikkichik · 10/01/2005 11:08

Stopped using contraception about 9 months ago and seriously trying for 6, so not so long really but feels like it. Don't want to go down the 'getting help' route at all - I know my Mum's intentions are good but it wasn't the most helpful thing she could have said!!
Good luck Tania - sounds very complicated!

hester · 10/01/2005 11:00

Nikkichik, I'm so sorry about af . Don't be pressured about seeking help; you'll know when the time is right for you to do so, if ever. Personally I'd not go down that route; there's no 'right' way, IMHO.

Tania, we can be generous about your playing away from home, since you are getting such good support from it. So, so glad that you have got this process started. See the wait as a time to get all your resources together - get yourself into as good a position as you can, mentally and physically, for what lies ahead.

Tania2 · 10/01/2005 11:00

Awww Nikkichik its always the way you test then she shows her ugly head. How long have you been ttc for now?

Tania2 · 10/01/2005 10:56

Hi Girls,

Awwww Jed so sorry about that B#CH* arriving we all so know how that feels. Counting down to your appointment. Hopefully there is a reason why you havent fallen pg yet but a reason that can be fixed (not blocked tubes thats for sure) I was always scared that the dr would say there is nothing wrong just keep ttc. How frustrating iam just too impatiant for that. Hang in there girl.

Munzieb MIL having an affair does FIL know or has she just told your dh only. Ohhhh you have to fill me in i love goss.

Hester was wondering where you were!!
I feel dirty having an affair on you guys have to admit that i have only been chatting with one girl that has just had her 2nd successful ivf she is 6 weeks pg and had her first scan today. Not really chatting with anyone else yet but iam sure that when i get to the 2 week wait to find out i am pg i will be looking for support from other girls at the same stage. Was thinking that the wait would be the same as the 2ww that i have been going through every month for the past year until a friend said "no honey it will be harder cause you know something is there it weather your body takes it or not" Shit now iam really worried how i will handle it!!!

The appointment went well today met the nurse and she showed us how to use the injections and nasel spray and all the rest. The whole process takes about 60 days.
1st i take the pill from about day 4 of my last af which i started on the 7th of Jan then on Monday i will call the nurse to confirm the date i start the synarel spray and the finish date of my pill the pill and the spray overlap about a week and then i have a scan to see if the lining of my utarus has thined. then i start taking the injections with the spray for another 2 weeks (i think) and then another scan to see if my overies have enlarged with folicals with lots of eggs around 25 of them. then they decide if i need more stimulation or if they retreave my eggs. the day after they retreave my eggs they fertilize them with dh's swimmers and then the next day implant them back into me after they give me more drugs to help my body accept them. We have chosen to emplant 2 embrios but have a very high chance of having twins but also double our chance of one of the embrios being a success. then the 2 week wait that will totally kill me. Sorry if i have rambled it proberly dosent make sense but i just needed to right it down IYKWIM.
SOoooo maybe transfer will be in late Feb and hopefully we find out iam pg early March. Seems so far away. Pray it works for me.

Love to you all
Tania

PS sorry this is so long

Nikkichik · 10/01/2005 10:55

Morning all - hope the w/e was good - if not
AF arrived on Friday (2 days early) while I was out shopping which resulted in a mad scramble for the nearest chemist and loo - ahhhhhh! What was really annoying is that i had just done a test that morning (BFN of course!) so wasted yet more money - why didn't I wait? Am resolved to wait longer next time before testing.
Feel a bit low this morning as last night on the phone my Mum said 'how long will you keep trying before you go and get help - afterall you're not getting any younger (I'm 38!). It hadn't really occured to me to go and get help, just thought I'd let nature take it's course but now she's planted all sorts of problems and scenarios in my head. DH not keen on the getting help idea! Don't know what to do now!!!!!

Fastasleep · 10/01/2005 10:46

Hey Hester! Good luck for Friday, I'll be thinking of you on that day! I'm much the same with the cheap choccy! None of you are too old!!! Although these days even I feel old! I look in the mirror and think 'oh dear, time for an even more concrete bra love...'

On the clothes subject - I didn't know George at Asda did such nice stuff! If you're ever feeling skint, try it out lol..

Good luck to you all this week, with everything, I'll be thinking of you Tania and Becki... and sending chocolatey thoughts to Jeds because it is absolutely vital that you keep your cocoa dosage up at this time of the month!

hester · 10/01/2005 10:27

Hi all, my home PC is still dead and refusing all attempts to resuscitate, but you've been in my thoughts!

Jeddah, I'm so sorry that af arrived . It is terribly, terribly disappointing and scary at our age. Just remember that our age the odds are still good that we will get pg, it just takes ages.... Marinda's advice is very good. Sadly much harder for me to pull off since I have a donor rather than a dh, so I'm inevitably pinpointing ov rather than having a nice spread. But do try to keep positive for now; it's too early to think that it will never happen. Hugs to you.

Marinda, I love your promise of drinks when you conceive. I'll remember that and take you up on it

Welcome kiwicath, nice to have you join us. You could also check your ovulation by temping - do you know how to do that?

Tania - we don't mind if you go and have an affair with some other group of breeders - just so long as you come back to us at the end of the day!

Your poor, poor sister . I think her wanting not to talk too much about her mc now is her way of coping - letting the grief in just one little bit at a time, so as not to be overwhelmed by it. Just keep making sure she knows that you're there for her, whenever she needs it. My heart breaks for her, but DON'T let her think she's over the hill at 32, for goodness sake!

Becki - thinking of you, darling. What a shedload of stress you're having right now. Big hugs.

triceratops (brilliant name!) - this nausea sounds very promising! If I were you I'd be wafting Maxwell House under my nose, just to reassure myself that I'm definitely having symptoms...

velcrobott - any update on your spotting?

rudydudy - hi you! I'm due to test Friday, but have been cramping all weekend so not getting hopes up. Just trying to keep my head together this month, after the horrors of the last two. So far doing pretty well, probably due to industrial quantities of cheap chocolate going down my gob.

jeddah · 10/01/2005 10:01

Marinda......find out from your doc who you have been referred to, then.....ring the hospital and ask to be put through to the Gynae quack's (who you have been referred to) secretary. Ask her the estimated time for referral appointments and then ask if you can be on a cancelation list (go to town about your age etc etc etc). I did this and got my appointment changed from 6 months to 3 weeks!!!!!! (I did tell them that I worked for the trust though.........but it is still worth a go honey!)

About this book you read, basically me and my dh have been BDing every other day and extra over ov period for the last 6 months.....I guess it does take longer with us old dolls...but I really want to know if there is any other reason for our infertility...then something may be done about it. Our appointment is in 2 weeks time.

Where in the north are you marinda????

Kiwi abbreviations list at top of the page.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts!
