Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

Rudy - congrats on the EWCM! How exciting! You probably have 3-4 fertile days now, maybe longer. You should start BD when you can and continue until you have ovulated.. Good luck!

Littleweed - interesting question; I'm going to check something out and come back to you. Try not to worry {{hugs}}

munnzieb · 13/01/2005 16:49

lol@rudy - tell u what hon, u try it and let us know! lol, I wouldn't put any egg white nr my foof unless it was already there

RudyDudy · 13/01/2005 14:38

OMG - just found this on tryingtoconceive.com - along with lots of "it worked for me" testimonies - what do you all think??? Is this the real path to madness......(btw I presume dtd is 'doing the deed' aka bd)

Egg whites can provide a mucus-like environment
which is sperm friendly.
Take an egg out of the fridge
set it on the counter
for approximately 1 hour,
so it can reach room temp.
Before DTD,
crack open the egg
separate the yolk from the white
and insert the room temperature white
gently into your vagina
To prevent infection, be sure to insert
the egg white immediately.
After you crack open the egg
DO NOT leave it at
room temperature for more
than a few minutes.
I understand that
egg white is used in labs
for sperm storage!
Worried about bacteria?
It is the yolk
not the egg white that would
carry bacteria.

Don't worry cockenzie - a friend of mine calls Jaffa Cakes the "Dieter's Friend" as they are relatively low in calories for a choccy snack

hester - I've also heard good things about reflexology and even rumours that the good ole NHS uses it in some areas. Can't say I personally know of any success stories but I think reflexology is fab anyway and can't do any harm. Hope you're not going too insane today and that you get to test tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the spotting Wifeof - hope it is just spotting and not AF.

Good luck sparkly - v. excited for you. Have you tested yet?????

RudyDudy · 13/01/2005 14:09

hi all - will read the messages and catch up in a mo but a quick question first...I am v.v.v. excited as I have ECWM for the first time ever!!!!! Well, the first time I've noticed it anyway, more to the point. I also have a funny pre-AF kind of feeling even though I am probably at least 2 weeks away. So, please somebody tell me - HOW LONG HAVE I GOT????? (DH is out tonight but may have to put in a special come home early request. Am actually so excited am tempted to go and drag him out of work and book a hotel room for the afternoon )

sparkly · 13/01/2005 13:45

Wifeof ... really sorry to hear that. I will say that when I was pg with my dd I did have what I thought was AF that month so it might not mean that.

I've decided to buy a test tonight. Went into Boots at lunch but paranoia of being spotted by a colleague was too great! Got to take dd to her friends for a sleepover tonight so will pop into Tescos on my way back ... you'll probably be the first to know how it goes!

Wifeof · 13/01/2005 13:21

Think the testing option has gone now as I've just started spotting. Oh well.....bring me vats of wine and chocolate!!

Ttc #3 for 7 months now, but as I turn the big four oh in 3 weeks the chances are dwindling somewhat.

munnzieb · 13/01/2005 13:11

tan - I'm shaved, etc, bubble bathed out (as much as I can be - we currently have no hot water coming out of our taps) and chilled. (unfortunatly the diet/toning only lasted for about 3 weeks after DH left so I'm probably more of a heffa now then when he went! lol. I'll try no to cause him an injury! lol, still this time tomorrow and he should be in the UK at least!

Wifeof - We decided on TTC just before he was told he would be going away, (I assumed - stupidly - i'd be PG by the time he left, which of course I wasn't and was most distressed. Still in the wise words of welfare - as long as u don't get PG whilst he's away you'll have to wait till he gets back! lol. (not that i'm that sort of a girl but you know what I mean thou?) he's basically the brew B*&^H at the minute for what I can gather so it's pretty much a desk job for him as well! lol, (oh and he runs the bar so i've no doubt he enjoys that as it's free larger for him! lol) I must admit thou he did volenteer to go this time when it came up as he's been on the list since it kicked off in 2002 (the first november) so at least it's out the way now.

good luck on the testing, how long have you been TTC?

LW - poss ask to do blood tests to see if you are OV?

littleweed · 13/01/2005 12:40

Hello I'm asking for abit of advice about what I should do next if thats ok. Story so far. MC at the beginning of October. since then my normally clockwork cycle has been all over the place 35 days, 28 days, 10 days and am curently on CD29. Had my progesterone levels checked 21 days into this cycle and they came back normal. so guess that means I'm not PG this month - in fact have just got a BFN. however am not convinced that I am OV'ing - did OPK every other day (from CD7) and didn't once get a +ve. we BD'ed like mad anyway just in case! I don't think I am ov'ing adn want to go back to the Doctor but am unsure what to say/ask for/do. haas anyone got any ideas? thanks LW

Wifeof · 13/01/2005 12:36

Munnzie, yes we're still 'in' but fortunately dh is doing a desk job atm. He did 6 months in Bosnia in 03 while the rest of his regt went to Iraq so they were all away together. He keeps suggesting that he goes off again which I unerstand him wanting to do but not while we're ttc thank-you very much!!!

Have you shaved, plucked, waxed, dyed and toned?!!!

Tania2 · 13/01/2005 12:01

Good luck to Hester, wifeof and Sparkly really hope you guys get that BFP.

Munnzie dont need to wish you luck just dont hurt yourself catching up with dh

Nothing to report here cant even say that its ov time....not in the mood to bd anyway feel like a real dud atm must be the pill kicking in. Really hot weather here and been ironing all afternoon so not a good combo. Off to bed now and will hopfully see some BFP in the morning.

Sallie · 13/01/2005 11:53

...oops - meant to type this month, not this week!!!!

OP posts:
Sallie · 13/01/2005 11:53

I was utterly convinced it wouldn't happen for us this week as had the cold from hell over the relevant ov time. But just shows...maybe I relaxed a bit when I had the cold because I had something else to worry about. No 3 (all being well) will have been conceived Xmas Eve/Xmas Day - agh............

OP posts:
Sallie · 13/01/2005 11:47

Wifeof - good luck too. Here's hoping theres some more good news very soon. Good luck to all testing soon and babydust to everyone ttc, whatever stage you are at

munnzieb · 13/01/2005 11:39

hester · 13/01/2005 11:37

You're going to have to test today now; we've got you all excited!

All fingers crossed for you and I'll be popping back in throughout the day to check your progress. In the meantime, KEEP CALM!

sparkly · 13/01/2005 11:35

Thanks everyone! Hester, you are so right this is madness. DP is away, too, not back till Sunday. Have more or less convinced him it hasn't happened this month so would be great to shock him like that. Getting ahead of myself, still keep thinking I'm not pg ... oh to be proved wrong would be soooo wonderful!

hester · 13/01/2005 11:30

Wifeof, I'm due too (tomorrow). Am just imagining us all sitting here typing, frantically reading every cramp and twinge, thinking, 'I'm pregnant! No I'm not! Yes I am!' This way madness lies...

hester · 13/01/2005 11:28

Sparkly, I'm so excited for you! So, so, SO hope you get the right result...

Sallie, in what way is Boots digital better than bog standard? Just more sensitive early on?

Wifeof · 13/01/2005 11:24

Ooooh, good luck Sparkly!!!

Sallie · 13/01/2005 11:24

Lots of luck Sparkly - let us know how you get on. Do get the Boots Digital test rather than the normal one....

OP posts:
sparkly · 13/01/2005 11:18

Kiwicath I know what you mean about not having to feel pregnant to be pregnant but when I was pg with my dd I felt horrid from day 1. Of course I didn't think I could be pregnant then (years of failed fertility treatments before this) so was diagnosed with IBS because of continual cramping. Sooooo, keep looking for comparisons and so far there are none!

Ok, ladies, going to go to Boots at lunchtime and buy a test (if I get out of here today!) and do it at work .... will let you know how it goes... last time I found out I was pg it was whilst I was at work so maybe it's a good sign??!

Wifeof · 13/01/2005 11:18

Munnzie - been meaning to say for ages - hope all goes well when your dh gets back tomorrow.

Take it easy with him, we bd'd 5 times in 12 hours when my dh returned from the Gulf after 6.5 months (mind you that was 12 years ago!!) and we weren't ttc then. The poor guy'll need some strength to do the biz when you ov! Anyway, just wanted to say that I know what you've been through and really hope you enjoy his homecoming (sorry !!). Make a beautiful baby!!!

Sparkly - I'm also overdue, cd30, 13dpo, had loads of cramping and backache for about week, got tender boobs (and have had since ov) and keep being convinced for the last 3 or 4 days that AF is coming because of the aches but just loads of CM (sorry again!).
However I was very moody last weekend and have a face like a pizza which is a bit of a giveaway really as I suppose there's the usual ton of progesterone whizzing round my body. Apart from this I don't feel anything....???? Eating for England, no nausea, so I'm not feeling too hopeful.

I'm going to stick it out until tomorrow as I've got one test upstairs. Last month I got to this stage, tested and AF came a few hours later, and I can't face that again.

Love to all, Wifeof xx

hester · 13/01/2005 10:04

Hester the empty-nester reporting for duty!

Jedds, Marinda - my bottom already IS like a shelf! The only thing that saves me is a small waist (I'm one of those old-fashioned hourglass types) and you know if I ever get pg that will get blasted to hell and I will just look huge for ever and ever. Will be worth it though (advantage of being 40: you know it's going soon anyway, so there's not so much to lose).

velcrobott - I have been thinking of alternative therapies, actually, but don't really know what to go for. Any advice? Anybody? People seem to think reflexology is very good.

sparkly - test now!!!

cockenzie - lol at the jaffa cakes. C'mon you lightweight, you can do better than that!
