Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

hi runtus - sorry to hear that - what's been going on for you?

ps - do I get a prize for longest ever post??? sorry

RudyDudy · 14/01/2005 12:46

hi all

quick question re. zinc - DH takes a multivitamin daily which has 100% of RDA for zinc. Is this enough? Not sure what the toxicity is for zinc - any ideas???

hula - what do you do at the prison? sounds interesting anyway. If you are feeling more relaxed now then you have definitely made the right decision. Good luck with the high temp - guess I know what we'll both be up to this weekend

hester - i think the international institute of reflexology has an online directory of practitioners so might be a good place to start. You could probably contact them and find one with experience in treating infertility.

hester and sparkly - sorry for the bfn/s . Waiting for AF is such a stressful time - thinking of you both and sending some babydust your way ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

munnzie - can't believe you were awake so early, take it easy today honey - you don't want to be too tired tonight now do you?!!! Have a lovely evening

LW - sorry to hear about your stress with the Dr. I saw mine this week as I was worried I wasn't ov but then EWCM has turned up so I'm hoping that's a good sign. How long have you been trying? Mine referred me to a gyno now although I've only been trying 3/4 months as it takes a couple of months to get an initial appt (I also have a history of endo and the waiting list for a lap is another 6 months on top of that). It would certainly be worth asking what the referral process is and if there is anything else she can advise. I wouldn't worry about not knowing what you are asking for - after all, it is kind of her job to have those sorts of answers! Alternatively - is there another Dr in the practice you could see who might be more sympathetic?

Hi Jedds - don't feel bad about the - it just means you're human! How are things with you? Has the evil witch gone yet?

God this is long! But there is always so much to catch up on! As for me, hopefully I'm Ov at the moment and will certainly act that way over the weekend , am still trying to revise for my bl**dy exams and have now been distracted by DH coming home last night and saying "I've had a payrise, we could get a bigger mortgage - shall we look for a new house???" - . Of course, I am a nightmare person to suggest this to as I am straight onto the internet and have already found what looks like a lovely house which we are going to see on Monday!!! All this, after we only moved into our (already lovely) house 18 months ago which we said we would live in for 20 years!!! Oh well...

Lots of love and babydust to all my ttc buddies
RD xxx

Hula - sounds like a good decsion all round!

After the week from hell, all I can say is thank Crunchie it's Friday!

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 10:51

hester - yes, I am really. After FF not detecting OV the last two months I felt like I was on a losing battle. This is giving me some hope!

sparkly · 14/01/2005 10:41

Thanks everyone. I know this was only the first month of trying but I'm just so confused by it all. I'd actually forgotten what it's like with the waiting each month, hoping, testing and then inevitable disappointment.

I'm still waiting though - no AF - will give it a few more days and use the 2nd test.

Good luck to everyone!

hester · 14/01/2005 10:05

Oh sparkly.... same thing here: no af yet, but BFN this morning I guess a miracle might yet happen for both of us, but I'm going to try to start focusing on next month (scary Scorpio baby!)

velcrobott - thanks so much for the advice. I've only got a few months left, so reckon I've got nothing to lose (except money!) by giving reflexology a try. Now, where do I find one? I'm sure there's been previous threads on this; will go and find one.

Hula - two lines AND a temp rise, how exciting! You must be really pleased. Oh, and congratulations on the job decision - sounds like a good one.

Munnzie - what time is dh home? You cooking him a lovely meal, or just disappearing upstairs with a pizza?

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 09:33

munnzieb - have a fab day! When do you get to meet up with DH?

Going to get some magnesium for me, and some zinc for Dh today I think - to help things on the way a bit more. Just have to persuade DH to to take the zinc now!

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 09:29

CD17 today. Well, after having a positive OPK yesterday, my temp has also risen by a fair bit this morning too Got to be good signs that I am OVing surely?

Made big decision about work yesterday too - going to resign from school and move over to do all 3 days at the prison now. School is starting to really get me down and I pretty much hate it there. As a temp measure from Easter I am going to do 3 days on hourly rate, but guaranteed days. But there is an Advisors job there I quite fancy - on a permenant contract, with sick pay, holiday pay, etc - which I think I will apply for when ad comes out next Friday. And DH has worked out that even without the enhanced mat pay from school, we are fine

Feeling very good about that decision today! And hoping that it may reduce my stress levels and help with TTC a bit too.

munnzieb · 14/01/2005 08:49

rudy/hula, congrats on ur ewcm! like hester i've never had it (just the 'moist' feeling)

Jedds - don't worry about it gettin mad at the woman who's pg, ur turn will come hon!

LW - you could poss ask your dr for a referal to the gyno? I ahve no idea what goes on there yet but will let you know! lol.

DH IS HOME TODAY - YAY!! lol, yes it's been like waiting for xmas (yesterday was! lol) and I woke up at 4.30 this morning thinking i'd overslept and forgot to go to work - doh exactly! i'm here and in work, but still i'm going to try and get away early today! it's CD22 and I havesome twinges around my tummy but so far no AF which is strange as i've had all the signs of AF showing so maybe i've had the signs but now my body's saying hey screw u - just cos u don't wanna be on when DH is home it's tough ur gonna be! lol oh well.

Can't come on as much today either as the other girl is back in the office today who's comp I use - doh! (might send her home again! lol)

littleweed · 14/01/2005 08:29

thanks Munnzie & Hester. Am sure my Dr (who is lovely but childless) thinks i'm bomkers for geeting so obsessed about TTC. She said originally that all they could do was check my progesterone cos that would indicate whether or not Iwas ov'ing. that test came back OK but I think I'm not ov'ing. thats why I want to know what I should do next. have resigned myself after yesterday BFN to having the longest wait in history for AF. DH is away on and off for teh next 6 weeks and bound to be away at teh crucial times if i get any so am definfitely in teh mood for a whole pack of jaffa cakes!

RudyDudy · 13/01/2005 21:48

Munnzie - just popped in to say hope you have a great day tomorrow with DH . It must feel like Christmas Eve for you!! Can't imagine how excited I would be if I hadn't seen DH for that long.

Hulababy · 13/01/2005 20:52

Sparkly. I have my fingers crossed for you that it may be still too early.

Munnzie - have a great day tomorrow with your DH

marinda · 13/01/2005 20:50

Munzeib - I am 38 years young !!!!!
Yes- I think the gnae quack appointment was quick too ! Still find it hard waiting for 6 weeks though !! At least i'm doing something positive !
Good luck when DH comes home - enjoy yourself !!

pooka · 13/01/2005 20:31

Oh Sparkly. So sorry. How disappointing and confusing, particularly when AF not with you yet

sparkly · 13/01/2005 20:21

sigh - wish I had good news to report but despite it being CD31 or 32, it was a BFN I really just don't get it. For the past year I've had 28-30 day cycles consistently and now this?? Think there is little hope for this month now and I'm just waiting for AF to rear her ugly head - knowing my luck that will be tomorrow after testing today.

velcrobott · 13/01/2005 19:46

Jeddah - conventional medicine DOES recommend some alternative therapies like accupuncture and in some cases homeopathy is seen in a good light.... no ???

jeddah · 13/01/2005 19:34

arhhhhhhhhhh! dead chuffed for you hula!!

velcrobott · 13/01/2005 19:34

Hester - I was thinking indeed refelxology, a friend of mine is a reflexologist and she says she has seen amazing results.
As you may remember I had stopped all AF and everything else.... dr said peri-menopause..... so went to see 2 people

  1. reflexologist - had 3 treatments... purpose in my head was to try to get my body to produce the right hormones.... so thought reflexo would stimulate my hormnonal system
  2. abdominal/womb massage (but in the UK only available in London/Surrey area I think).... and the person who does this is a good friend and she swears thar this technique really helps many women. I had 2 massages (+ she gave me a tincture to drink)

My periods are back.... they could well have come back without any of this.... I am some £100 less rich but I had 3 foot massge and 2 womb/back massage.... so if anything it was nice !

Worth looking into ? I just think you and Jeddah need to get some help.....

jeddah · 13/01/2005 19:33

rudy.......I am so excited for you honey!.....yipee!!!!!!!!!!!! loads of eggwhite!

Hulababy · 13/01/2005 19:33

CD16 today. The OPK has come up with two lines, the same darkness - Maybe I am working after all!!!

jeddah · 13/01/2005 19:32

read even!

jeddah · 13/01/2005 19:31

Just ready about putting eggwhite up 'minimoo'!!!!!!!!.....usually like my eggs scrambled!

Vel congrats on the af!

kiwi thanks for details!!good luck honey!

sparkly where the hell are you!!!!?????????????
dying here!

Hester......when will you test!

met a client today in supermarket who told me she was pregnant! on her 3rd....she had a m/c 2 months ago! and now preggers again! wish you could have seen me, painted on smile of joy, until she walked away, muttering under my breath......'fertile bitch'! then nearly smashed the ficken shelves in!!!!!!!!!!! (now feeling very guilty for being so jelous! and being so horrible!)

Vel haven't thought about alternative therapies ...think they are a load of!

RudyDudy · 13/01/2005 19:10

of course - just remembered the 'dog's b*ll'cks' description . Sorry you've never had it honey - if it wasn't too weird for words and if it would make any difference then I'd happily share it with you

hester · 13/01/2005 18:28

Hmmm, I don't know whether you can have EWCM and not ovulate. I guess you can, but in everything I've read (and that's a lot!) EWCM is seen as a marvellous sign of fertility. I do envy you - I've never had it!

RudyDudy · 13/01/2005 18:05

thanks hester - I really am quite ridiculously excited about it! 3-4 days!!! marvellous - coincides very nicely with the weekend. Have asked DH to come home a bit early from his night out tonight so if I disappear around 10ish you'll all know why . Oh, I was really starting to wonder whether or not I was ovulating and this has made me so happy. Silly I know but it's the little things....

Negative thought just popped in - can you have EWCM and not Ov??? Hope not...
