Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

Can I ask a really personal question - have you all been trying for ages - because I feel like an intruder either that or stupid for asking when I can start testing as I only started trying last monday then started AF on Thursday so resumed ttc yesterday - am i getting in to deep to fast??????

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 22:20

Well if I have a 28 day cycle, Af should arrive by Wednesday - so Thursday is a good short term goal for me.

marinda · 24/01/2005 22:19

Sorry Jedds - I mean advice on when to test ? CD29 here and no AF - infact no irratibilty etcc, mild cramps, buster boobies, needing to pee often -- doing my head in !!!! But if I test and get BFN anf then AF tommorrow - I'll sink into a depression. Have tester here - but resisting ......

Rudy - i'm game for the pact, but can we have wed or thur as a short term goal and then review it ?? Some of us may have AF by then anyway. I best she's playing a game with us just to wind us upm then maybe NOT !!!! What do you think about short-term goal ??
Unfortunately, me and Hula both have testers at our fingertips so alot of temptation Do you ?

Heaster - get here !!!!!!!!!!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 22:05

When you test is a big thing around here

If you know how long your cycle is - then I tend to wait until I know AF is due. Or when I am at leas 10DPO - as more likely to get a result on a tester kit.

velcrobott · 24/01/2005 22:04

Hi everybody can I join you all as I have recently (just last week) started ttc, have been reading through thread and just a couple of questions - does cd mean cycle day (where you are between periods) what is AF and all the other abbreviated letters. Already kind of got know Hulababy a wee bit on other threads good luck everybody - oh! and do I wait till I get my next period or is there a certain time before when I can test - first time round I just thought we should have sex all the time but that took me 8 months so hopefully with all your help and knowledge I wont have the tears every mnth

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:48

why not?! Enjoy

velcrobott · 24/01/2005 21:46

Well I guess I'll have to BD tonight

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:44

Velcrobott - I'm not exactly sure when I Ov as neither OPKs or persona have identified it for me. However, this month I did have EWCM and around that time had some cramping and pains around my right ovary which is where I had (have?) endo. Not sure if that helps you!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 21:38

I get a cramping pain around the time of OV. Sometimes quite painful, on and off - but only for half a day max.

I also look out for changes in CM. Egg white texture is the most fertile, Watery CM is also a good sign.

velcrobott · 24/01/2005 21:36

I'd like to hear what your experiences are of OV tests, I bought sticks and I have had hormonal problems and so "officially" I am ovulating all the time... I keep testing positive (so must have a high LH level - which is what the tests measure).

Do you "feel" any different when you ar OV? I am CD16 (I am proud to say as I had not had an AF in nearly 6 months).... and I felt period pains for half a day and wondered if it could be a sign of OV... no egg white I am afraid....

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:35

Fingers crossed it isn't AF hula.

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 21:30

I am going to try my best to hold out as long as possible. I am only 11DPO anyway right now. But AF symptoms continue

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:17

Sorry - forgot to say hello to you Jedds. How rude

Hope you're having a busy couple of days . Good luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing how you get on.

RudyDudy · 24/01/2005 21:15

Cori - congratulations! What a lovely anniversary present. I hope you manage to keep your secret until Friday. God, that will be tough! I hope you're a more patient person than me, I'm sure I'd crack by Wednesday! Are you planning on wrapping up a positive test? Or do you have something else up your sleeve??? Oh, do tell! 2BFPs today - how lovely

Wendy - hello and welcome. I'm afraid I know very little about OPKs though it does sound promising for you! Good luck

Marinda / Hula - should we have a 'we promise not to test until Saturday' pact? Do you think you could do it? I'll be amazed if I can but am up for giving it a go! Or at least until Thursday (12dpo) - I am thinking of testing then as I have a night out planned after my last exam and it would be good to know. Though of course an early BFN wouldn't be much help.

Munnzie - how you doing honey? Thinking of you (((hugs)))

Hester - where are you????? Hope you're okay honey! We miss you - come and chat with us!!!

jeddah · 24/01/2005 20:02

wendy11.......stop reading this thread and get to it! now!!

wendy11 · 24/01/2005 19:10

Marinda,
Thanks for your comments. I am relatively new to all this testing, although looks like it could be a long drawn out process for us ttc. Oh well off for some BD

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 18:55

No idea about FF's reliability - I guess it is still all down to the right temping and human error!

I temp each morning and record temps and CM on FF. First two month's it determined OV, second lot of 2 months, it failed to find OV. This month it did find OV - but maybe as I had put in OPK results.

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:30

PS She has 3 kids already and was soooooo surprised she was pg - found it hard to be pleasnt as she know's I've been TTC for 7 months and so I felt she rubbed it in - but probably just paraniod - sorry to rant !!!

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:27

Surpised about FF H, thought it was supposed to be very relaible ! I only got very faint line on OPK but at same time got EWCM - so have no idea whether I OV'd, but last moth I had EWCM much nlater than the 2 lines on OPK so I give up - I was thinking of using predictor as well - soooo trying isn't it.

To make matter worse, a friend of mine who is OLDER than me, decided on a wim to stop minipill went on holiday BD oONCE and is now pg. How CRAP is that !!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 18:21

Looks like it - all be nervously hanging on all week!!! I still have AF cramping though, so don't think I will have such a long wait. Mind you, at least one good thing from this cycle - I did find out that I did OV - regardless on what FF said before

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:20

Hula, Rudy are we all in the same boat ??? Sickening isn't it ??? Shall we all hold out till Sat ? Don't think I can !!!

Hulababy · 24/01/2005 18:18

cori - have CAT you.

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:17

So sorry Yingers just read your post- (hugs) !!!
