Hi ladies!
CD 1 for me today, so I’m moving over from the July thread and starting this one (don’t think there is already one).
Anyone else now ttc for a BFP in August??

CD1 again for me.

I am absolutely devastated and feel quite sick. I think it’s really starting to affect my mental health. Have been off the pill since 2019, but more specifically tracking since the start of 2022.

I’m exhausted with it all. I’m too scared to go to the GP as my BMI is 36, aiming to go when I get that down to below 30 (it was 39 at one point so I am trying) but it’s so hard to eat well & exercise when all I want to do just now is crawl into bed and disappear.

I am 27, almost 28 and I long for a baby so much, and so many of my friends around me are on their 2nd or 3rd and it’s so hard. I see my parents getting older and I’m sad at the years they are missing out without grandchildren. The children in my family getting older & older and the age gap between my potential baby getting so much bigger. I’m devastated and feel so alone, I’ve tried to open up to friends and family and they say “oh it’ll happen when it happens” or my friend who had both her children by 22 “yeah we struggled for a few months for the second one it’s hard isn’t it” and it’s like no one understands so I can’t talk about it.

Just feeling so deflated and overwhelmed with sadness today.

Hi Lovely,

I am so sorry that you're feeling so down. I can imagine how hard it is to have wanted this for so long. It's totally conceivable that it could be affecting your mental health as each month is such a rollercoaster.

If you're feeling strong enough, I do think perhaps visiting a doctor would be a good idea, I know it's scary but it may also feel like you're taking back some control with the situation. Knowledge really is power and at least by visiting the doctor they will be able to give you some advice for mental and physical health, perhaps even run some tests that may put your mind at rest.

It sounds like you've been improving your lifestyle and have already decreased your BMI quite a bit. That's a massive achievement, keep going!

I really hope you start to feel better soon, ttc is so mentally exhausting try to be kind to yourself xx

Also CD1 for me today with AF paying a visit. Sorry to hear you’re feeling low.

I’ve been off contraception for the last 9 years and can relate your your situation with friends and family so much. Sending you love and hugs xxx

@rebecca199 😭 thank you I really hope so

@Lou0811 ok best of luck, keep us updated

CoolSummer89 · 08/08/2024 14:12

@Lou0811 Perhaps it’s abnormal because it suggests pregnancy and therefore you need to speak to your doctor? Never had an internal ultrasound before so I don’t know what the terms mean. Are your doctors easy to get hold of?

@WrittenThatWay congratulations!

@mangobe looks promising, keep us updated :)

My news is that I got my 3 day blood work back and it’s all looking really good, so I’m feeling very relieved. After 8 months TTC I was fearing the worst. My husband has to wait 3 months for his SA, just because our local hospital has such long waiting lists.

The doctors have fobbed me off and I’m waiting on EPU to call me xx

8DPO for me, still early but took this first thing and swear I can see a vvvvvfl. DH said he doesn't though so maybe just line eyes. Onwards to tomorrow!

Can see the start of something! 🤞🏼 it's darker for you tomorrow. How exciting!!

This cycle is back on track after CP and I am waiting for AF to come this Sunday although it is 9 dpo for me. The positive test tells me that you got pregnant within 1 week because it is still decent but not quite dark yet. I hope your line gets darker every day! Also check your HCG and make sure it is doubled every 48 - 72 hours!

Good point Lucy - I did test 12 days ago, I think it was now? Maybe 10/11? It was a BFN. Now this!

fingers crossed that this is your month xx

OliveTraybake · 08/08/2024 09:09

WrittenThatWay · 08/08/2024 06:28

Still no AF, and BBT was high again today. Am I delusional or can you see a line?

I can see a line! Congratulations! So pleased for you lovely! The best news!

AF is due today for me. I’ve had spotting since Sunday with some very small clots but that’s enough for me to count myself out!

ScarlettSloth · 08/08/2024 08:57

LucyCL · 08/08/2024 08:52

As long as it is above cover line, pregnancy might still be possible. Fluctuations in BBT is normal though.

Thank you… I am also 9 DPO and expecting AF any day now (I ovulated slightly later this cycle so assuming AF will arrive a bit later too). If it doesn’t arrive by Saturday I will test. Congratulations to everyone who got their BFPs! 🫶

LucyCL · 08/08/2024 08:52

ScarlettSloth · 08/08/2024 08:14

Does BBT have to stay quite a bit higher or just above cover line if pregnant? mine is doing all kinds of things making me think I am unofficially out… that being said I’m taking the temps within a 30min - hour range of each other each morning 🤦🏻‍♀️

LucyCL · 08/08/2024 08:31

Congratulations to the ones who have got their BFPs this cycle. I am happy that this cycle is back on track post CP and I am waiting for AF to arrive this Sunday although it is 9 dpo for me. I will be joining the September thread soon. Baby dust to the ones who are still waiting! ❤

Thank you Lucy, how are things with you and your journey?

I’m still surprised! I’m almost in disbelief… I don’t get how she said I’m ovulating and the. A positive test! lol. Very shocked xx

Hi, I think it would have been far too early for them to see anything on the scan. I had one at about 6/7 weeks once and they warned me that they might not see anything yet, but that it wasn’t necessarily a bad sign. You will only be about 4 weeks if you’ve just found out so probably not something to worry about x

That interesting to know, thank you x

Thank you - I know… the lady did show me the screen at the very end, I’m wondering if I was faffing too much and missed what she was trying to show me! How are things for you? Xx

@Lou0811 congratulations!!! But wow, did the ultrasound scan compeltely miss early pregnancy?! 😲 I would imagine they would be able to see an embryo?!
@WrittenThatWay hope you are not out yet but yes getting the LH peak time right is absolutely important imo - I am about to start testing 3 times a day end of this week !
@Zo85 I think it is a clear peak! Yay!

@AlleycatMarie fingers crossed for you this month as you test!
