Hey everyone! After 4 years we've decided to try for baby no 2! But it feels like such a long time ago now, I can hardly remember the ttc processBlush anyway, finished my lmp a couple of days ago and started ovulation testing! Wondering if anyone's in the same boat this month? Hoping for an April '15 baba!:)

Cd 10 for me.... waiting for the flashing smiley to appear on my CB ovulation tests! Got news back yesterday that my last loss was due to trisomy 15 (one of the slightly more rare chromosomal abnormalities), so because of the recurring losses me and my partner have to go for blood tests to check we aren't carriers. Tests are Tuesday but it takes 8-10 weeks for the results and i don't want to wait to keep trying because it takes us quite a long time to get pregnant!

SkaterChick · 13/07/2024 08:42

@Zo85 it's crazy how hard it is to catch the surge! At least I know from my symptoms and such that my ovulation is imminent! It took me a long time to be ready to TTC a second and now we're trying I'm super impatient 😂😂

SkaterChick · 13/07/2024 08:41

@Blue2020 it did take us a year. And I guess technically it's been over a year for us TTC the second, though most of it was unknown cause we thought we were on a contraceptive but turns out my coil perforated my womb and wasn't doing its job so I guess it must have been lack of sex thanks to the tiny human that stopped us getting pregnant 😅😂😂😂

Blue2020 · 13/07/2024 07:16

@SkaterChick ah I see, sorry. I guess if they don’t work in catching the peak then it’s fine too, you got a bfp last time which is great news.

@Blue2020 yes the darker line is the control line, I didn't say it was positive just that it was the darkest line I've ever had.
This was around 2pm and I forgot to do another around 8pm to check if it was getting darker or lighter...I think my window of actually getting a "positive" on a opk is very small cause I was testing twice a day for a bit when TTC my first. We dtd on a day I got a fainter line than this, it never got any darker and we got pregnant.. so I clearly missed the peak on the tests.

Hi Skater. Don’t be disheartened by this. I used to hardly ever catch my surge (even testing twice a day during predicted ovulation) and the line being the same colour as the control line was pretty non-existent but we were very lucky when it came to conceiving our first in terms of it taking us little time. I too used to have a very short LH surge. It seems a bit longer now I’m older for some reason.

FinallyPregnant2022 · 12/07/2024 22:56

@InvisibleDragon good luck to you. Our first took 19months....he is now 18 months and we are TTC2 5 months in. I'm feeling frustrated and fed up already.

@SkaterChick ah welcome and good luck.

I think that’s a negative lh test, the dark line there is the control. Unless this test is different to my easy at home tests where the line closest to the part you hold is the control and the line closest the max/urine is the test. I could be wrong though since it’s a different brand.

SkaterChick · 12/07/2024 22:07

Managed to post this in TTC over 35 the first time so let's try this again 😂

Hi everyone, TTC my second.
Some of you might remember me from march time, I had what I thought was a v. Faint postive but it wasn't.
Actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I needed some minor surgery. I'm all recovered and ready to get back on that horse 😂

Got this line on an opk today, I used them briefly with my first and I think this is the darkest line I've ever had, I've also had ewcm Thurs/today so dtd today and keeping everything crossed. Going to be a LONG two weeks 😂 gonna try and find the time to squeeze in a quickie tomorrow if we can but got family visiting so today may have been our only chance this cycle.

Hi all!
Hope it's ok to join.
TTC #2, my first little one is 4 next month. We've been trying all of 2024 but first few months not really (started properly about 2 months ago with clearblue ovulation sticks).
Driving myself mad - currently on day 30 (13dpo) usually have an average 26 day cycle Thought I had come on this morning but it's usually heavy from the get go and still not... wondering if I'm spotting and done a test. Don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me because I want it so bad 7 months in or if there is a faint line.

Also I'm going to go to my GP on Tuesday and see what they say, I'm 37 and been ttc for 7 months, not sure they will do much? I'm thinking I might have to fork out and go private for tests. I have no clue what kinds of tests they even do though for male or female, anyone know?

Moomoo20 · 12/07/2024 20:40

Nic2908 · 12/07/2024 09:21

I caved 7dpo and of course it’s negative 😜

Aw it can be hard to resist testing. The last 7 months I've been testing early/wasted a bloody fortune on pregnancy tests that I just can't be arsed now. It's like I'm just expecting AF to come every month now it's so disheartening. I'm also 7dpo and had sore boobs everyday and some twinges here and there but these are alll typical post ovulation symptoms for me I think.

Morning all, we are TTC #2 at the moment! Had a chemical last month and took a test this morning and think I see a vvvvfl so feeling cautiously optimistic 🤞🏻 baby dust to everyone!

Ohhh I think I see a hint of a line, fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞

I am absolutely not testing until my period is late. I'd end up testing every day and just stressing myself out.

Not expecting to be pregnant this month really but noticing some of my regular pre-period symptoms showing up is a bit reassuring that my cycle is starting to get back to normal now I've stopped breastfeeding.

I did this too!! Knowing full well what the outcome would be but couldn't resist! X

Ah, sorry to hear this. I hope this new cycle is your month.

I don’t think it’s gonna be my month. In my first pregnancy, I just knew. I know it sounds ridiculous but my intuition was telling me it was my month shortly after DTD and I had a similar strange feeling about 8 days before my period was even due (in a 28 day cycle) which prompted me to test. I usually roll my eyes at this sort of thing btw - and I hope I’m proven wrong soon and get a surprise BFP.

I was wondering when you ladies have a temperature drop and increase in relation to when you ovulate? Also when you have egg white cervical mucus and your luteinising hormone surge if you use OPKs? Mine don’t seem to match up. Eg I can have the temperature drop predicting ovulation and the blazing positive OPK but my CM goes very scant. I seem to have it in the days leading up to ovulation not on the actual day which isn’t helpful.

5dpo today and I do believe the symptoms are coming in rather thick and fast... very similar to how I felt with my first pregnancy! Trying to convince myself not to test early. How's everyone getting on?

Ohhhh I'm also 5dpo today, what symptoms do you have?? My boobs are sore amd heavy, that's the only symptom I have but that's also a typical post ovulation symptom apparently

PunchyLunchy · 10/07/2024 15:46

Time is standing still! Did a test knowing full well it would be negative 😝 I’m so inpatient! No new symptoms so far. I have the same question as you @Nic2908 but from googling it seems to be 9dpo.

Nic2908 · 10/07/2024 09:45

What’s the earliest that people have tested and got a positive?
