Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

I'd like to tell MIL over the phone. I might get dh to go on his own and tell her.

I think we'll tell people this weekend.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 13:15

Grrr it is pissing me off now!

I personally don't see the problem in telling people who you would tell if something went wrong anyway. But that is me. Other's have different feelings. I am just that you get a choice as to whether to tell or not, people only have to glance at me to know! I was soooo pissed off that DS1's nursery teachers (and half the school) knew before my mum! But then it was my choice to not tell mum over the phone and wait until we could go down to visit.

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 13:07

I think he is scared we'll tell people and something bad well happen. Some people know we are trying so it won't be a surprise for them.

Yes I do know that feeling Nat.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 13:05

What's it got to do with him?!!!!

No, seriously, if he doesn't want people to know then there is only one option, drop big hints so people guess!!!

God, do you ever get a feeling on your chin that there is a hair there, but no matter how much you squint in the mirror, or just try to grab it away there is nothing there?!! Farking annoying!!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 13:00

I am very tired and weeing all the time. Have had a few waves of nausea.

I might suggest to dh that we can tell his mum at the weekend, just get it out of the way.

I dont think he wants to tell anyone though.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 12:25

LMAO, never a truer word spoken

largeginandtonic · 07/04/2008 12:23

I am of the opinion that you need lots of support in early pregnancy, it is when you feel your worst but have nothing (really) to show for it. If something happens you need to rely on people to help you through it

I am also hideously bad at keeping my mouth shut

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 12:07

Hah! The rumour mill will be running at full speed, how will you keep it quiet?!!

You'll have to make some well dropped comments about the lingering smell in the flat due to DH's obsesion with pickled onions!!

Do you have any symptoms yet?

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 12:02

Yeah I have, shopping though. With a well hidden pregnancy magazine in my basket. My best friend who I work with did ask why I was buying pickled onions.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 12:00

MIL's, spawn of satan! But then we wouldn't have a our lovely DH's with out them, and one day I will be a MIL, and I am sure I will be viewed in the same light!

Have you been into work yet? I am sure they will know when they see your smile!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:58

Plus MIL will tell the whole world.

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:57

Everything is to do with MIL as far as she's concerned. She already thinks I trapped dh with ds, don't know how as he knew what days we had to GOF to concieve ds.

I think I will tell my mum. I might tell everyone else after I've seen the MW.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 11:53

You can't jinx it, if something bad is going to happen it would happen regardless (though I am sure it won't!) And WTF has it got to with MIL?

Tell your mum, if you are anything like me, you'd want her to know if something did go wrong anyway!

I am quite lucky in that I can tell my sister who I know won't tell anyone else, so I can offload without worrying about the world finding out!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:49

I dont want to jinx it and have anything bad happen. Plus I dont want to tell MIL as I know she wont approve as she has already said we shouldn't have another.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 11:46

It is starting to soften up a bit, it's not too bad in the morning then as the day wears on it grows again, but it is going in the right direction!

It should teach me to not get in such a state about TTC'ing again this month, so far so good, but I am not near the 2ww yet and that is when it all kicks in, will have to be very hard on myself!

Why are you keeping quiet? If you want to tell people, you don't have to wait the 12 weeks!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:42

Has yours gone down yet?

I hate beingpg and not being able to tell anyone.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 11:40

LOL You can have mine

The time will fly by, much quicker than your first pregnancy, because you have DS1 to look after.

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:36

Yeah I know. It just seems so far away!!

I also want a bump! I am so impatient.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 11:34

6 weeks?

You can have a private scan at 6 weeks. I think they are somewhere in the region of £100. TBH though, unless you have an actual reason to be worried (bleeding, bad cramps etc.) I wouldn't bother, as lovely as it is to see the baby for the first time, you are much better waiting till 12 weeks, there is actually something to see by then IYKWIM?

...says she who will be camped outside EPU until they give in and let me in!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:28

Looked into private scan but I still have to wait 6 weeks for 1 so I'll just have to hope the 8 weeks goes quickly.

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:12

Cant really afford it though. We're saving up for one of those 4d scans.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 10:29

You could always go private, if you really don't want to wait.

I suppose I should go and get dressed really, maybe 5 more minutes!! LOL

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 10:26

Yeah, I think once I get a bump, had scans and lo starts kicking he'll be better. I don't want to wait 8 weeks for my scan.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 10:21

I remember DH saying how useless he felt all through my pregnancies, especially with how DS2's went and then the MC, he couldn't do a thing to make me feel better, and I think they don't see the baby as being real until they are born, whereas they are as real to us that second you get the BFP as anything. I can imagine how they must feel, DH always says frustration equals the excitment.

Men eh? They just take a little while to catch us up

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 10:14

Yeah, he is much better. I think it's because it's so early that there isn't much he can do. But he is constantly looking in catalogues.
