Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

I personally dont think 1 glass of champagne isn't going to do the slightest bit of damage.

If alcoholics and drug addicts can have healthy babies surely I can if I have 1 glass.

Diege · 10/04/2008 09:46

You must do what you feel best Kay, but really I've heard the opposite from the people who did the study which must surely help a bit? I have noted that some posters have this sort of 'hmm, not sure about that so yes, leave it/don't do it approach'. Same with hair colouring, which is totally fine in pregnancy (unless you paint it all over your body and leave on for 12 hours a day, for 6 weeks like they did to the rats in the study), but you still hear people saying, hmmm, yes, no evidence, but probably best to avoid 'just to be safe...'' Really pisses me off actually!! Rant over

kayzisexpecting · 10/04/2008 09:42

Everyone else is saying no. Not even 1 glass
I had a far few glasses in the first 4 weeks of my pregnancy with ds and he is fine.(I also got very very drunk on my hen night as I didnt know I was pg)

Diege · 10/04/2008 09:39

Kay, Kay, I know the answer to the champagne thing, I do!!!! Don't know if I've mentioned my job, but I'm a uni lecturer/medical sociologist, and when I was at the Conference in Warwick a few weeks ago, we had a paper from the research team that advises the gov on pregnancy and drinking. Apparently, the only reason they say abstain from alcohol in pregnancy is because they think women don't understand the unit system , and therefore even though there is absoloutely no scientific grounding whatsoever in the no alcohol rule, they said it just to cover themselves in case women interpret a few units a week to mean a good old binge . We were all very criticial of this, as you can imagine, and the researchers themselves are now starting to feel the flack - . So err yes, one glass of champagne is more than fine

kayzisexpecting · 10/04/2008 09:39

Sorry about af Diege. Fingers crossed for this month

Diege · 10/04/2008 09:34

Sorry, sorry!!! That horn has been ringing out across Warrington, and people have been banging on my front door...I came as fast as I could .
Well, before I had a chance to test again (though I did have wee-pot att the ready) af started, sod's law . So no surprises, and now into first official month of trying!!!!!
Haven't even attempted catching up on news I'm afraid - last two days have been at work 6.30am-to 7pm - too boring to explain! At least I have a fighting chance to keep up today as I'm collapsing working from home, albeit witha trip to the hairdressers thrown in for good measure!
A bit concerned about sickness if I get pregnant this month, but then when it's always going to be a factor, and I'm already missing out June cos of hols end of July/August.
Also determined to lose a few pounds as even though I'm a size 8/10, my muffin top is taking on a life of its own .
Sorry for the me-post - will try and skim through everyone's news

Good morning all

Period gone gone gone, had a lovely GOF just for fun, just thought I'd share LOL We managed all night without beer Must admit it was harder than I thought it would be! Both of us kept reaching for drinks that weren't there, I think we drank our own body weights in tea..... yum

Cal, have you tested yet? Am keeping my fingers crossed for you, let us know ASAP!!

Someone honk Diege's horn please, I am getting very impatient now, I think we all need to take a commitment oath or vow or some sort of pact. We can not allow this lack of information. It is not in the name of the thread!

I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE THAT FROM THE DAY MY PERIOD IS DUE I WILL UPDATE WITH AT LEAST HOURLY REPORTS OF GOINGS ON, I SHALL NOT LEAVE YOU ALL DANGLING FOR INFORMATION, AND I SHALL SATISFY YOUR NOSINESS AT EVERY AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY.

Anyone else care to join me in my surefire contractual pact?

tinkerbellbringingsexyback · 10/04/2008 08:27

kayzisexpecting · 10/04/2008 07:14

Morning all.

I've had a hell of a night with ds. He woke up when I went to bed and then wouldn't go back to sleep until half 12. He then woke up at half 5. Dh the bloody PITA is still in bed and I had to get up with ds at half 6.

I am exhausted and fed up.

How is everyone else?

amytheearwaxbanisher · 09/04/2008 22:28

im back again af came and to think of all the money i spent on contraceptives i need not have bothered havnt used any for three months and no baby

calsworld · 09/04/2008 22:13

AF was due today but hasn't appeared yet. Been quite emotional up till now though which is standard PMT for me...I think AF is lurking sneakily round the corner and will probably pounce whilst I'm in my bosses car tomorrow driving to Kent!

Must dash to bed as knackered so will catch up properly on Friday / Saturday - sooner if there's anything exciting to tell of course!!

Had a fab time at Alton towers waterpark this morning - DS loved it, very excited by all the water and I think also the time spent with DH and I. Brilliant value for money!

Must dash, being nagged! Take care all, x

Poor sheep.
I love lambs, quite annoyed I cant go help my friend with the orphaned ones this year. I missed out for most of last year too.

YouCantTeuchThis · 09/04/2008 20:13

not that hands-on ...more, able assistant for a sheep with a prolapse and holding lambs whilst they get jabbed and tagged and sprayed...or something!

kayzisexpecting · 09/04/2008 19:31

Yes more football Teuch

I like it when football is on when dh is on lates as it makes the evening go quicker.

How hands-on is 'hands-on'? Arm up cows bum hands-on?

YouCantTeuchThis · 09/04/2008 19:29

don't tell me there is more football tonight??!!

Tink - does that mean you have ovulated then? You will have to explain!!

I have loads of cm at the moment...creamy but very stretchy . Not sure how I feel about a snottery fanjo... Meant to have sex last night but we both fell asleep .

I've been 'hand-on' farmer's wife today ...I don't do hands-on but I was the only one available!

kayzisexpecting · 09/04/2008 19:25
